   Enjoyed a last minute dinner here with my two children. We enjoyed looking at all the beautiful design elements throughout the restaurant. The food was tasty, simple and service was excellent. Douglas was helpful with making selections on the menu, all his recommendations were wonderful. It was a busy Friday night but the staff seemed to work well together.

   Last night's service was terrible. First off, our seating request was not honored even though there were booths available. Our server, Rachel, was either new or overworked. She wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. Asked about whether a chicken dish was white or dark meat. She stated only dark. Dish came out with dark and white. Chicken was a little underdone, pink flesh and rubbery skin. We asked for a substitution on another plate, to which she said she noted. The plate came out wrong. I usually get water refills throughout the meal. No refills except for when I asked for one. We asked for some condiments for our dinner. She forgot and had to be asked twice. When she brought over the salt and pepper shakers, she said we had to try them because some of them don't work. Why not test them before bringing them to the table? Ordered dessert of carrot cake, which the menu said came with vanilla ice cream. She brought out only the cake. When asked about the ice cream, she said when it doesn't come out with it, it usually means they ran out. It would have been nice to know that when ordering. She offered other flavors of ice cream, which was brought out melted. For a restaurant of this scale, I expected better service. The server should have been knowledgeable. Perhaps the restaurant management should do better. The music is always loud, and you can barely hear your dinner partner speak. You have to yell, which makes the noise level even louder. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

   I was looking for a nice restaurant for brunch to celebrate my best friend's daughter's marriage the week before. I happened to be in DC that weekend for another occasion, and they were celebrating their honeymoon in DC for the week. I was hoping for somewhere to enjoy a nice buffet (as I didn't know the newlywed's specific tastes). We had reservations (which I strongly recommend), and we only needed to wait a few short minutes before being seated. Our server Alexis H was friendly, and efficient. We had a nice little conversation and it really did add to the day. The variety of food set out was exactly what I was hoping it would be. It was fresh and tasty, and we all enjoyed a nice mimosa toast and a hearty breakfast before saying goodbye.

   For such a popular brunch that cost so much I would expect all of their food stations to be always stocked, but that is never the case… Always annoying
