   Food was good and had no bad problems with service, but the service just wasn’t what you expect from a restaurant that continually touts itself as a AAA 4 diamond restaurant. The waitress announced their beverage selections as, “We have soft drinks and stuff.” She was not familiar with the wines on the wine list. We did not receive bread until after the salad course. She had to write down our order for two people. Long wait between courses and had to ask for water refills. Many around us received their meals before us even though they arrived after us. Our server did not notice that it was our anniversary (per Open Table) until she brought the check. I assume they must give a free dessert or something because she brought a small chocolate torte although we had already ordered, eaten and been charged for our desserts. Finally, the dessert said, “Happy Birthday” instead of anniversary.

   The Fairview will not seat you until the time of your reservation and not a minute sooner! The menu has a very good selection and everything I have tried is excellent! The restaurant has recently been renovated and has a lovely atmosphere.

   Truly enjoyed the experience! We celebrated out daughters 17th birthday here. Our waiter Daniel was great and very pleasant. I appreciate him making the day enjoyable!

   My experience was very very amazing. Especially our waitress she was phenomenal. We were meet at the door with smiles and lots of help the food was excellent exceptional magnificent thanks Fairview dining

   Special day celebrating a successful post PhD defense. Great service and food was delicious. The extra special congratulatory sweet treat was rich, decadent and such a nice surprise.

   We’ve been traveling to Durham for several years for Doctor appointments. We stay at Washington Duke Inn, which always an awesome experience. We always have at least one dinner at the restaurant because it’s consistently awesome. Creative cuisine, delightful service, and an elegant atmosphere sets this place apart from anything else we know of in Durham. It’s our Happy Place.

    The filet Mignon diner was excellent but we were seated near a door to the outside that had lots of in/out traffic. That was annoying.
