   My boyfriend and I needed to get out of the house and grab a drink. This place has been on my radar for a while, and I’m so glad we finally got to try it. I want to preface my review with this: My boyfriend is not fond of alcohol or cocktails and I find it really difficult to get good food in North Jersey/Bergen county. With that being said, my boyfriend loved the cocktails beyond words. They were handcrafted with love by Sim, the bartender. And let me tell you something, I had no intention of staying after one drink but his charm and charisma kept us there for 3 hours! (Instead of 45 minutes like we initially planned). The service here was stellar, and don’t get me started on the food. We had the beef tartare, calamari and the lobster Caesar. We ordered one thing at a time as we weren’t very hungry but each thing was better than the next. The tartare was incredible, slightly cooked which I personally really appreciated. The calamari flavor was INSANE - and I hate calamari. You didn’t even need a sauce which is something rare for me to say in general. A gentleman sitting at the bar next to me highly recommended the lobster Caesar - we were ready to leave at this point but he insisted so much that we had to order it and it did not disappoint. Another small yet important detail - Sim, the bartender taking our order, asked the kitchen to serve the salad in two plates so we didn’t have to share one and self serve and pour. These things done with time, effort, patience and attention to detail is why I’ll be back very soon. Not to mention the stellar service, great cocktails and incredible food. The cocktails are a bit on the pricier side from $18 - $25, which is like NYC prices but the food is very fairly priced. Do not sleep on this place - going in it’s a little quiet but that’ll be the best time to go and mingle. Looking forward to coming back for a full dinner!

   So disappointing, always loved a special night at Esty, but after tonight we'll never go back. Staff are lovely, but food portions have been cut in half and prices are out of sight, everything was so overpriced. Kitchen was agonizingly slow, only 10 people in the restaurant from 7:30 - 10:00, yet the kitchen took 2 hours to serve our meal, unacceptable! A shame to lose what used to be a neighborhood gem.

   We have been dining at Esty Strret for 15 years. Like fine wine Esty Street gets better with age. Our experience was perfect in every way. Can’t wait to dine again. The summer menu is delightful!

   Esty Steet is failing. So sad, the service was confused, the food was later than usual and was not at the level we have experienced for many years at Esty. Once a cool place, now I would rate it a hit and miss at best.

   Service very slow and not at the level it should be at your prices. The IPad given to me upon arrival to look at menu and drinks was discustingly dirty. Food took forever to come out of the kitchen. Bar service extremely slow. Everything about Esty has gone way down hill. I raved about the restaurant to my guests and was embarrassed with what we experienced last night. Recommend. Not anymore

   There were 4-8 tables filled at any time during our 3 hour one course meal with dessert. Every table complained and some tables didn’t ever receive their entrees, so they got up and left. We spent $300!!! Not worth it. It was incredibly slow and incredibly overpriced. I will never go back. The staff was nice but I don’t understand how they couldn’t manage the small amount of tables.

   We always go for our anniversary and they never let us down. Service was amazing (I believe his name was Kevin, apologies if I’m wrong). The food is always top notch. The most underrated star of the night was the Bavarian pretzel bread pudding that came with my wife’s filet. Cocktails were delicious. 1 of my favorite restaurants in Rockland/Bergen County area.

   What a wonderful dinner we had for our anniversary. Our waiter Simeon was so fantastic. The food and atmosphere made this special night worth the price we paid. We will be back.
