   Food was average to good. Service fine but please do not bring the desert menu before Entrees served. If the desert takes awhile, please verbally let us know. Most high end restaurants will do this. We moved tables due to a very loud party next to us. Service was prompt in the beginning and then everything slowed down. We were given the desert menu and told some preparations took 20 minutes. No one came back to take the order so we did not have to wait so long. Prices to high for the experience and food

   I’ve been dining here for years and each time it’s slipped a notch. Good was good. Service was only fair. Our party had a late reservation and though the restaurant was not busy we had to wait for requests or to make a request.

   Good food. We went late, not crowded. Deserts looked amazing. Just too full!

   Excellent service. Our waiter Richard was so friendly and had the menu down like a work of art. All staff were friendly. Cleaned the tables quickly between small plates and meals. The potstickers were the best I’ve had! I got the blackened Ahi for dinner and it was delicious. My husband got the burger and it was ok. Drinks were tasty.

   Food was good but the menu was quite limited. “Land and Sea” was completely missing any “Sea” options so only one option for vegetarians. Cocktails were interesting but very watered down with lots of ice which is fine for some types but not for an Old Fashioned/Manhattan (what they call a “Classic”)

   The menu was very limited. Prices too high for our budget. I’m going to tell others not to go there unless they like all the Asian cuisine. 1849 implies that era, not what was on the menu for that era.

   Food quality, execution were all very good. Service was super friendly but clearly understaffed and somewhat disorganized. Everything took a long time (but we had drinks, so all good). The show kitchen list fun but if you sit too close too it, the fluorescent lights take away from the atmosphere. Overall, good but will be better if they improve some of their edges.

    Just like eating at the original Roy’s restaurants in Hawaii. Definitely a must go to restaurant when visiting Kauai.
