   Delicious swordfish plate and pulled pork sandwich were superb. We didn’t want the meal to end because every bite was so scrumptious! Mai Tai’s, coconut shrimp appetizer, and a fantastic Hula Pie with Kioki coffees ended our meal just perfectly! And the view was spectacular from the patio. Can’t say enough good things about our birthday celebration meal! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner while in San Diego seeking the island vibe.

   We go to many Duke’s and they are never above par, but this one had to be the worst. We sat in a booth with no view of the ocean, which we drove 3 hours from LA to experience. The service was unexplainably poor, the smells omitting from the entrance to the seating area were terrifyingly bad, and the food was less than mediocre. Yikes…yikes. Needless to say, we experienced, and will not experience again.

   We absolutely love coming to Duke’s and bring family and visitors here whenever they are in town. Gorgeous views great service and wonderful food. Can’t ask for anything better!

   I’ve enjoyed Duke’s in the past and have always thought it was the perfect spot to bring friends and family for lunch with a water view. Unfortunately, this recent visit was a major letdown. I made a reservation two weeks in advance for a special occasion and specifically requested outdoor seating on the balcony. The only reason I chose to return was for the view. When we arrived, we were seated in the back near the restrooms and told that balcony seating required joining a separate waitlist—something that was never mentioned during the booking process. The staff wasn’t helpful and didn’t offer any solutions beyond the waitlist. The food alone isn’t good enough to warrant coming back without the full experience, especially when the main draw is the view. It’s disappointing that there's no way to guarantee balcony seating even with plenty of notice. I won’t be returning.

   I'm really loving Duke's! I always take my out of town company due to their excellent food selections, taste, and ambience - not to mention location - La Jolla!. Every time I've ordered - the entre' has been exceptionally tasty and cooked to perfection! I can't say enough great things about Dukes! If the have Ono (fish) -- order it! You will not be disappointed Very excellent mild fish!

   Our server was great but the food was poor. Very overpriced for what it was. My fish was $40 and it was overcooked Calamari starter was cold. Nice ambience and waiter though but won’t go back

    As always, Duke’s delivers! Our server, Aja, was spot on and patient with our group as a few of us arrived later than expected. She provided fantastic service. The plates were top notch! Of course we will be back!!
