We are a great neighborhood secret on the south end of town offering a variety of fresh fun food from our open display kitchen. We have a hardwood oven for great appetizers and flatbreads while fresh Alaskan seafood and produce arrive daily. Be sure to check out our daily specials highlighting Chef Travis' creative inspirations. And of course, make sure to save room for our fantastic home-made desserts. We are proud recipients of the "Wine Spectators" Award of excellence 28 years in a row and feature a 250+ bottle wine list. Our speciality, though, is our hospitality. The restaurant itself is a unique space. Well-designed and appointed. Signature cocktails stand apart from the crowd. (I highly recommend both the Old Fashioned and the Smoke Becomes Her.) But the food is the star of the show, as it should be. The weathervane scallops were excellent, cooked perfectly. The Outsider ramen, however, was a revelation. Whiskey & Ramen isn’t cheap, but it’s worth every penny.

Love this relatively new place in town! And love the booths where it is easy to talk to one another because it is quiet. The food is exceptional. We met the chef, who is charming. All in all, I can highly recommend this spot for dinner or lunch.

Another amazing dining experience! Fabulous food, exceptional service, and the atmosphere was energetic but also serene which made the perfect blend! Darryl was once again awesome and Nancy, the owner, brought us our dinner and made time for a brief chat.

I did not request any particular table for the evening. Gerald had us seated in the back but my wife does not like the back, so Gerald moved us to the front by the windows. Thank you Gerald. He was very gracious. He even had a card signed by the entire staff for our 55th wedding anniversary. As usual the staff did an excellent job and the food was outstanding. Their steaks are really good steaks. All in all, we had a wonderful evening dining out at AJ’s. I had three of our grandchildren deliver 55 roses to our table to participate in our celebration. Thank you Gerald, looking forward to another event to celebrate at AJ’s Oldtown Restaurant in Homer, Alaska
