Honoring Chef Miki Izumisawa, the female, award-winning sushi artist, originally trained by the one and only Nobu Matsuhisa. Miki was inspired by nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls that blur the line between art and fusion sushi. Miki's recipes transform elements of the natural world with names such as Lava Flow, Moon and Sun, Feather in the Sky, and Prairie. Before her passing, Miki carefully coached outstanding female-only sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces. Her legacy continues in this romantic styled coastal, intimate sushi bar and cozy 18 window seats with views of Laguna's main beach.     We spent our 46th Wedding Anniversary at the sushi bar at ÓTO. We were very impressed upon first greeting by our server, Trenton, who was a bundle of knowledge and energy. He carefully went over the menu, which is always welcome in a new restaurant. The best surprise was Chef Marvin, who asks all of your preferences before providing a delectable feast. He was very communicative and knowledgeable. This was a fantastic, affordable dinner (Happy Hour 4:30-6:00 most days). We will return often!

    Amazing experience. The food was exceptionally creative and delicious. The salad was just wow. Everything we had was amazing. Great service beautiful space. Totally recommend for a special occasion or just a great dinner out. Reservation reservation reservation.

    It was an amazing dinner. The view was incredible. We were inside next to the window. The sushi was fresh. We were able to order from Larsen’s menu, too. The service was excellent. I highly recommend it!
