   I made a special trip to eat at CHOP, and it was worth the long drive from Chicago. I’ve had some good steaks but I can honestly say that the steak at CHOP was the absolute best I’ve ever had! The compound butter and the quality of the meat was truly AMAZING! The NY Strip was so tender it cut like butter. Hands down the best steaks in Door County.

   Excellent meal as always, and this time we were a larger party with kids during this visit. We had an amazing time visiting together, adults and kids loved their food, and as always was so great to see so many familiar and welcoming faces during our dinner at CHOP. Big thanks to all for making it a memorable evening!!

   Chop is one of our favorite restaurants. Although we tend to visit more frequently during the quieter times ( since it is a popular spot ), We were delightfully recognized by the hostess when we arrived for our reservation. She had already seated our guests acknowledging that we tend to prefer going to the table first instead of the bar. She even stopped back to the table when we were seated to wish us a pleasant evening. Our server, Brie was great! She was attentive without hovering, paced our drinks, apps and meals perfectly and suggested ( when asked) a perfect wine choice. Food is consistently good. The quality and preparation of the ingredients never wavers. Our filets are always cooked to the requested temperature. Not sure how they do that but they do! I’m addicted to Chop’s house salad. It is soooo good

   The remodel is wonderful. It gives a warm friendly vibe and reduces the noise level, making for a wonderful dining experience.

   Had to wait 5 minutes when entering because the manager was helping a severe with a baby chair then we were sent upstairs where it was empty. Food arrived over cooked - the fillets and no manager came to see us I’ve been to CHOP many times however very poor today

   Amazing food & service. Lobster bisque & the chip salads are amazing. Husband got the waygu & loved got the filet and it was outstanding. Very difficult to have any conversation as tables from both sides were pushed so close and would join in- which was wonderful , the one couple was funny & kind and made jokes about how close the tables were. The other couple was an older couple who just kept complaining throughout the whole night. Nothing was right about their evening (nothing that chop did), they were just in a mood. Being 1 ft. away puts a damper on your night then & they also just glared at us as we laughed and had fun…which I felt bad for. Also, I didn’t know how physically close the tables were. We would have to move when one another on either sides was getting in our out-I don’t know if we could come back again unless there were other seating options. Some people are immunocompromised, going thru chemo, etc. So to eat with 4 strangers 1 ft. On both sides was not ideal nor anything I’d expect at an upscale location. Def. Needs to be mentioned here so that others know what they are walking into :) Just request one of the booths maybe.

   We love Chop! The food is always excellent and staff is always professional. I really appreciate how we are not rushed and have a small amount of time between courses. Their timing of delivery with food courses is the best.

    A good meal in a beautiful place along the harbor in Sister Bay WI. Service was stellar and food was tasty.
