   We had three different servers during a 2 hour dinner. We only had main and dessert, indicating the level of waiting around for the food to be served. I asked for the meat medium and it was raw. Pricy considering what we actually got.

   This was a first visit and I will be coming back! Professional yet comfortable. The menu was super. The staff were helpful friendly and responded to the fact it was a business lunch. The resturant decor was top class and the food was amazing, everyone in the group enjoyed their food. For the ladies...even the bathrooms were brilliant! They have private function rooms and cosy areas at the bar. Loved it. Thank you.

   The service has become really slow which is not good when running on a tight schedule.

   Food was excellent, but let down by service. We ordered the pre theatre menu and mentioned that we were in a bit of a rush ordered my fiancée's courses before she arrived and the starters appeared very quickly which was great, but the pate had no melba toast which we were assured would be along shortly. After 10 minutes we asked again, and were reassured it was on it's way. Then 2 pieces of wholegrain toast appeared....if this is what is served then just serve it, don't pretend something special is coming 10 minutes later. This was all delicious, but then again let down by the fact that the mains needed to be asked for immediately and bill ordered before the food arrived and wolfed down to get to the theatre on time. Excellent food (other than the toast) but the staff need to listen or advise if fast service 'pre theatre' isn't possible.

   Food was lovely, service friendly and efficient, not very busy which did impact on the ambience.

   Charming and stylish décor, the service was outstanding from a friendly and engaged young team. The menu is interesting - lots of game and classic winter dishes, but presented in a modern and cheffy style. The celeriac soup was fabulous - served with such aplomb - a beautiful large shallow bowl containing a pile of baby mushrooms, chanterelles etc, then the soup poured in, smooth and delicious. Two suggestions for improvement - server could a) supply fish knife and b) offer the sole on or off the bone - my companion struggled with the little bones - being foreign and from a non flat fish tradition! Many thanks for a lovely lunch! HH

   I was disappointed that I had been emailed by Chiswell Street Dining Rooms about the London Restaurant Festival but when I asked the staff for the menus none seem to know about this and the email was received that morning. The food was very tasty but pricey.

   THE FOOD WAS LOVELY BUT WE HAD TO WAIT A LONG TIME BETWEEN COURSES. SERVICE VERY SLOW...IT WAS A SHAME AS IT SPOILT THE EVENING.

   We stayed at the Montcalm brewery hotel for the second time and noticed chiswell the first time we stayed but unfortunately was fully booked for the evening. We made sure to book a table for our second visit, was lovely and really enjoyed that me and my boyfriend was able to feel like we were in our own little world without hearing others conversations. The only thing if I was to pick at anything (as said this is me being ridiculously picky), it would of been nice to just have only one waiter throughout the evening, it's more personal when leaving a tip :)

    The food offerings are unfussy but not unsophisticated and the several times I've eaten here my meals have been tasty, if not memorable. It's a quiet, comfortable spot for a business lunch. Prices, however are unjustifiably high and while service is adequate, it doesn't dazzle.
