The Charcoal Steak House is an independent local steakhouse serving the Waterloo region community for over 65 years. Enjoy AAA Steaks, richly marbled wagyu, slow roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, mouth-watering pig tails, legendary smoked ribs and more. At lunch we feature an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, bowls and healthy salad choices.

Sundays are made for Brunch from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Our Martinis Bar with summer patio offers the full Steak House menu or light meals in a more casual setting. Enjoy appetizers, a full meal, 20 beers on tap and beautiful outdoor seating area in summer.

We have been going to Charcoals for many years to celebrate our wedding anniversary and have noticed the clientele has declined. The table beside us were loud, using foul language and one person was secretly vaping. T-shirts, ragged jeans and baseball caps just don’t fit well in what was once an upscale dinning experience. Whether it be an outside patio or inside. We enjoyed the food and service was fantastic.

We had our regular monthly dinner at the Charcoal and it was excellent. The service from Zoe was exceptional, please give her a raise. I had the Japanese shrimp and mini beef wellingtons and they were both delicious. We are never disappointed when we dine at Charcoal.

For the first time ever we were not happy with our experience. The steak frites were terrible...steak was cooked perfectly but tasted awful. The French onion soup had a very unusual taste almost tasted burnt and smoky. Not normal. Had this food many times before and obvious there were changes.

Erg goed restaurant. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en erg mooie relaxte sfeer. Restaurant ziet er erg mooi schoon en verzorgd uit. Eten was echt top. Genoeg keuze voor ieder wat wils. Grote porties en erg lekker. Toetjes waren zeer goed en moet je echt je best doen om die op te kunnen. Zeer uitgebreide wijn kaart. Dit restaurant is echt een aanrader.

Birthday celebration. We were greeted warmly and service and food was excellent. Even offered a dessert on the house as thank you. Food and hospitality is good. Price is very reasonable and I will definitely come back again.
