Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.

Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. In the Restaurant, sophisticated seasonal dishes are served in a refined setting with a weekly changing 3-course Lunch Menu du Jour, a seasonally-inspired 7-course Tasting Menu and an a la carte option. In the more informal Brasserie, a selection of favourites are cooked to perfection with the finest ingredients. The drinks offering is as exciting with an AA Notable Wine List, premium spirits, and cocktails. There is also a private dining room for corporate and private occasions.

    Just had a wonderful anniversary lunch at Chapter One today! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect for our special day. The staff was super friendly and made everything feel extra special. We’ll definitely be back in a few months! Highly recommend!

    Really nice place. Food was great & probably the best ribeye I’ve ever had! Service was also very good, no long wait, our server was on the ball & knew the menu very well so able to recommend wines to compliment the meal. Will definitely return.

    Steaks seemed pricey, but OMG best ever. You definitely get what you pay for 😋 Lovely seating area, fantastic service👌 . . shame a couple of rather annoyingly loud men disturbed the atmosphere 🙄 but would definitely recommend & return.

    Another very enjoyable meal at Chapter One, with the food and service up to the normal high standards. The resturant was not as full as we normally see which is why the ambience was marked down.

    We love the Brasserie at Chapter One for our friends meet ups. You can speak and hear each other without fighting over noise! Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere and above all, lovely menu with plenty of choice and reasonably priced for high quality, delicious food. Service is friendly, efficient and attentive. Highly recommend.
