The Easter brunch used to be a fun experience for my family. We looked forward to the Easter Egg hunts especially. This year was a total bust. They only hid maybe 20 eggs per session and there were so many crying children who did not receive eggs. Considering the hefty price tag- this was such a bummer! Won’t be going back next year.

Roast was over cooked, asked for medium rare from one roast not sliced into yet and was denied. Expected more selection of vegetables choices. Dessert selection mostly cupcakes. Ham very salty. Would have thought I was ordering something illegal when asked for pineapple rather than orange juice for mimosa (I am allergic to orange juice). Husband is disabled and they tried to seat us as far from buffet as possible until I spoke up.

Buffet was nice but it was an odd check-in process. They usher you over to pay right after getting your name and multiple staff did not have information about other events offered with the brunch including the egg hunts and petting zoo. I asked 5 separate employees without receiving any answers. The signage was also wrong as to where these events were located. Although the food was reasonable it was such an odd, assembly line-esque experience upon arrival and considering the uninformed staff, I don’t think we’ll be back.

Easter is always special at cast iron. The hunt and cookie decorating is so fun for the kids. Food is pretty good for buffet style. I loved the addition of vendors offering beverages. Desserts are always super cute too. The negative… service is non existent. With a 26% automatic gratuity, I guess there is no motivation to actually wait on your tables. It was really bad. Just getting a water refill was a lot of work. In addition, we have a one year old and put high chair on our reservation. We asked again when we were brought to the table and the guy comes back 5 min later telling us they are out. Anyone with a one year old knows this is not a small thing. I asked if they could bring one as soon as one became available and there was really no response, just an awkward ok… and he left. (To never return). We finally asked a nearby table who didn’t appear to be actively using theirs for their older child who was sitting in a chair and they were gracious enough to allow our daughter to have it.

We always enjoy the Easter Brunch with lovely music, tons of food choices and the ice sculpture. The kids get excited for the Easter Egg hunt and the petting zoo. Great place for family photos.

We weren’t EXACTLY at the Cast Iron. We were upstairs for Easter Sunday brunch. It was fabulous! The food, the drinks, petting zoo, egg hunt. Beef, shrimp, eggs, bacon, oysters, fruit, smoked salmon, kids’ table, wonderful salad table, vegetables, rolls, pastries….. everything you could imagine! The decor was beautiful, the service was wonderful. It is incredibly expensive, but for a once in a year event it was worth it. We loved that the drinks were included, where as at the Omni Las Colinas, they started charging per drink and rushed us out of our table. While there isn’t an outside area for the kids to run, the place was large enough for them to roam around and see the animals, etc. We also walked right outside and let them play at the water garden for a bit ( not me, I was drinking my mimosa) and burn off some of the delicious food and FABULOUS desserts. While a very pricey affair, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
