The food was just bad, steak cold inside and completely raw. Oysters tasted very fishy, sauce lacked flavor. Drum overcooked and orzo pasta was clearly old, very upsetting as pieces were even hard and dry. The dessert was awful, and recommended by the waiter. The cake had hardened grocery store frosting tasted like it was from last week. My husband has never not finished dessert and he had two forkfuls and couldn’t eat more. The cheese board was served with stale bread they tried to cook into crackers? Tasted like stale bread… all the fruit was old and mealy literally with the cheese just thrown on it. The only thing enjoyable was the ravioli which we almost didn’t order because it seemed a little random for the menu. Luckily we did or we wouldn’t have eaten anything despite ordering half the menu. Hadn’t been in a while and thought it’d be a good idea to bring guests, wrong move, very disappointing. Waiter mentioned new management, not sure if that’s the situation or jazz fest or it’s just gone completely downhill. It’s sad because it’s a nice environment… with so many great places to eat, don’t waste your time.

Spectacular as always. Limited menu for Jazz Fest, which makes complete sense, and still offered standouts like the crawfish ravioli and fish. Good vibes, great wine, cool people, always a good night at Degas!

Cafe Degas is a great place to have brunch. The French onion soup was outstanding as was the omelet & salad. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The ambience was great - cozy and quiet, set in a neighborhood just outside of JazzFest. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed Cafe Degas! Cool, festive ambiance with pretty lights out front. We started the meal with the cheese tray which was fine. Four chunks of different cheese and a little fruit with dried French bread. Pretty basic and not very interesting but the cheese was tasty. We all three had the hanger steak which was very good with a delicious flavor. The pomme frites were excellent as were the fingerling potatoes. The chambord cake with raspberry was moist and yummy. They have a nice Chardonnay from Russian River and our server was attentive and friendly. I’d definitely go back.
