   Started looking for a place that met my reservation criteria as we had play tickets at 8:30 and found this restaurant. We had eaten in the location when it was Acacia a long while ago. Knew we liked the location and the comments seemed like we should give it a try plus it has some parking right next door. They also have jazz outside on Friday and Saturday evening which was another pleasant surprise. We chose to sit outside in their courtyard to hear the band and there was a pleasant breeze even though it was a warm evening. The inside of he restaurant now has two bars clearly if they do events. They have added seating in that large room that was a shop. Inside was cool but the bar was noisy and bathrooms were clean. We started with the crab cake appetizer and it was very good. 3 smaller cakes with little filling and lot of crab plus a wonderful dipping sauce. We then did the salad special of watermelon, blueberries, feta and a dressing which was very refreshing and well balanced. The dinner was lamb shank with fresh vegetables and potatoes and chicken with vegetables and rice. All very good and not over seasoned. Drinks were a mojito (not enough rum), glass of Chardonnay (very nice) and then an IPA (solid choice). Recommend for sure and will go back to hear some more good jazz though with no mojito.

   Had a business meeting here. Nice place for a Saturday afternoon. Parking is limited.

   The array of waiters who came to our table was amazing. About every 10 minutes a new waiter would come out with dinner and ask us if we had ordered this the answer was no. This happened to us three times. My friend ordered salmon when it came out it was white looking and we figured it was just different but it turns out it was not salmon. The waiter made no amends for the mistake. When we ordered cocktails the waiter took one person at a time order to the bar so it took 20 minutes for all four of us to have a drink at the same time. We were all very disappointed and we will never return to this restaurant

   The food was great, but the fact that all dining tables butt up against the bar the noise level from the bar was unbearable making dinner with friends a most unpleasant dining experience. Will likely not go back for fear that could happen again.

   The special occasion was my 32 year old daughter's visit. We had a lovely time. The wait person was fantastic. The food was great. (eggs benedict with fresh crab) & (poached eggs on toast) The coffee was strong like I like it. I had a champagne cocktail with lemon, lime and a splash of cranberry which was tasty. We were not rushed. I love the tea lights. The table linen was a good feel as well as the silverware. I hope that you will still be a focus on Carytown when my daughter visits again from California. After, our celebration with C Street we headed over to Perceptions Spa to continue our pampering day.

   If you are looking for a dining experience where you can actually have a conversation with your friends, this is the place to go. The service was excellent, very nice menu, and they have the best outdoor dining venue in Richmond.
