   First time here and was very impressed. Love love loved the bread with sauce that they give you. Portions were quite large. I actually shared the lobster with asparagus and cream sauce. It was to die for. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and would absolutely go back again when in San Diego again. Highly recommend

   The fillet was chewy and definitely not a prime piece of beef. The vegetables were cooked nicely. The pasta is very nice but the sauce is bland and not memorable.

   The lasagna is worthwhile. We had the lobster stuffed pasta which was vey good but very rich. The eggplant parm was very delicious.

   Truly authentic and delicious Italian food - Lunch at 1:30 on weekday - we had carciofi alla romana, pasta bolognese, penne all’arrabbiata & gnocchi and each pasta was cooked “al dente”, and arrabbiata sauce was the only one I’ve had outside of Italy that tastes correctly and not too spicy. Artichokes were in olive oil and garlic and very tender. Portions were huge, so good for 2 meals. Bolognese sauce was wonderful but could have had half the amount on the pasta. Service was very accommodating as we had an elderly person in wheelchair, and hostess even moved heat lamp for us! Outdoor seating, Covid safe and sensitive, and in the middle of little Italy, San Diego. It made for a perfect first visit to the neighborhood.

   Buon Appetito is one of the most consistent, reliable restaurants in Little Italy. Everything on the menu is good. When we want to invite someone to join us for the first time for dinner in Little Italy, we know that we can count on them to deliver. We ate outdoors at their new street-side covered seating which is spacious and airy, and the multiple fire pits give off a nice ambiance. I had the cioppino and it was not just perfectly seasoned but LOADED with seafood, including scallops, sea bass, shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari. Delizioso! For dessert I had their tartufo which I asked them to drown in espresso to make it "affogato" style. Non c'è problema! And the service was excellent and accommodating.

   We were seated outdoors at our request. There were plenty of heaters to take the chill off. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. My wife had fish and I had chicken. Both were excellent and the portions were generous. I’m glad we got there early for our 6 pm reservation as the outdoor dining area was full by 6. I definitely recommend this restaurant for the food and people watching on the street.
