   Excellent place to have a quiet business lunch. Good food and good value, although service was a little slow to start with. Very friendly though. Highly recommended.

   Service was good. Food not so great. We had chateaubriand which unfortunately although it tasted good was incredibly chewy. The place itself is nice, gad a drink at the bar first before sitting down and drinks are expensive.

   Restaurant is in a large room with high ceilings so the ambiance can be difficult to achieve. The trout and the veloute starters were excellent. The pastry in the pie was undercooked but the chicken and leek filling was good. We had to chase the waiter for the bill as we were going to the cinema. Overall a good meal and place to eat.

   Meal was ok but most disappointed with the service. Staff appeared to be disorganised and stood in groups chatting, ignored customers enquiring about tables and generally had an air of everything being too much trouble. Not rude but not at all friendly or welcoming. One of the staff members was lying on the sofa in the reception area when I visited the ladies, shame he wasn’t serving the waiting customers!

I can only apologise that you did not receive our expected level of service when you visited us. All our staff are trained to the highest standard to provide each guest with a welcoming experience.    This did not feel like a restaurant, it was more a wine bar with food in a hotel foyer- The atmosphere was dead for a Thursday night and the food reminded me of hotel room service just without the small bottles of ketchup.

   Lovely, opulent place. Service was great. Nothing was too much trouble for the ladies who served us. Would highly recommend.

   Excellent meal here before the theatre and great value. I had the trout and it was delicious. My husband had a T-bone steak which for £22.00 for two courses was fantastic value. Only small criticism was that he was not asked how he wanted his steak cooked which was a little strange. Will definately be eating here again.
