   Very disappointed. Open Table showed they took reservations until 10:30, and that they were open until some point later than that. We booked 10:00 because of an earlier event, but were still looking for a nice dinner. When we arrived (around 9:55) we were told they has switched to the bar-food-only menu. No where on Open Table did it say anything about a reduced menu after 10pm. Walking around downtown St Louis is VERY dangerous at night, so walking 6 blocks out of our way to get a hamburger, there would have been a lot of safer options. Then the bill comes. Over $100 for three hamburgers and two drinks (two total, not two per person).

   Apologies for not responding earlier, but we wanted to make sure we fully comprehended what we were reading. So rather than review our hours found in the details section within the OpenTable app, which clearly states dinner ends at 10pm, you then feel you should get the full menu 5 minutes before the end of dinner service? Furthermore, rather than call ahead before walking 6 blocks in a "VERY dangerous" city, or simply grabbing a taxi/uber to get there faster, you decided to risk your lives only to be upset you paid 33 dollars a piece for food/drinks and service you gave 4 and 5 star ratings (respectively as of 4/16/25) in your review? Apologies, but we are simply at a lost how that equates to a 1 star review. That said, we hope you made it back safely to Minneapolis and wish you well.

   In addition to the regular menu, Tuesday is “burger night”! Had an elk burger with provolone cheese, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato. Excellent! And Colton behind the bar was on his game with a couple of “smoked” Manhattans. Shout out to Paige (our waitress), and as always, Jon (the executive chef), for their hospitality.

   We had great time tonight! That staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about food. Offer plenty of details on the food and drink pairings. Great place for food and cocktail lovers!

   Paige the waitress was great. Good recommendations. The food was outstanding. Drinks, frankly, were somewhat disappointing. I really enjoyed the location, the service and the general feel of the place. I would return.

    Times have really changed (for the better!). I visited B&S several years ago (2020’ish - COVID era) and was not impressed back then. The Chefs tasting menu and wine pairing was more miss than hit. For the price, just 1 miss (poor pairing) is a let down. To have it repeated was a downright disappointment. We haven’t been back since because we were so disappointed with the experience and price. We (reluctantly) came back, under insistence of my sister-in-law… and we were pleasantly surprised. The tasting menu had changed and the wine pairing had GREATLY improved… because there were 3 of us, we were able to try all of the menu choices and all of us were amazed with the quality of the pairing. The food tasted so good… it was off the charts! We will be back and this time it won’t be 5+ years between visits.
