The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, one of the most hotly anticipated annual restaurant lists, was announced at a glitzy ceremony in London, on Monday. Copenhagen’s Geranium nabbed the top spot from the acclaimed Noma, which has occupied that spot for years. More than a 1,000 restaurant industry experts scope out restaurants across the world each year for the list, which returned last year after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The list is major tourism generator and restaurants pay close attention it in the hopes of a boost. New additions to the list this year include London West African restaurant Ikoyi, Rio de Janeiro tasting menu spot Oteque, and Sorn, in Bangkok.
