Drumroll, please. The 2023 restaurant awards season is coming to an end with one of the most hotly anticipated lists of the year: The Los Angeles Times’s 101 Best Restaurants.
At a bustling, packed-to-the-gills party in a sprawling Arts District space, the Times announced critic Bill Addison’s favorite restaurants in 2023. The annual list recognizes everything from super-casual spots to the most to high-end destinations, and last night’s reveal was no different.
LA heavyweights like Walter and Margarita Manzke’s French-leaning République, seafood stunner Providence, and Mediterranean powerhouse Bavel all made the cut once again, as did neighborhood favorites like Long Beach Middle Eastern restaurant Ammatolí, Silver Lake’s comfort-food go-to All Day Baby, and the Afro-centric Two Hommés in Inglewood. Plenty of new faces were welcomed this year as well, including Pasadena sensation Bar Chelou.
The Times also dropped its Hall of Fame Restaurants list Tuesday night that honors timeless classics like 2023 hall-of-famer Park’s BBQ.
