About the restaurant
The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. My husband and I enjoy Five O'Clock Steakhouse about 2-3 times a year, and it's always outstanding. Great food, great service, great drinks, great wine selection, great atmosphere - yes, it's just GREAT!

Johnny Manhattan specializes in steaks, pizza and Italian cuisine. The classy and stylish interiors display classic and antique décor, including pendant lamps, ceiling lights, carpeted floors and a chandelier suspended from the center of the ceiling. The large windows let plenty of sunlight in, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for casual dining in spacious booths.

The tenderloin fillet, Nancy garlic bread stuffed with cheese, fresh fish, handcrafted pizzas and herb roasted chicken are signature items off the menu. The bar at Johnny Manhattans serves vintage, classic cocktails and a selection of beers to enjoy with appetizers. The restaurant also hosts private events and parties.

Ruths Chris Steak House serves the finest aged, corn-fed USDA Prime beef. Broiled in a trademark 1,800° oven & served on a plate heated to 500 degrees, your steak is presented sizzling hot at your table.
Additionally, the menu includes select fresh seafood & other meat entrees. A variety of fresh-cooked vegetables, including seven kinds of potatoes, salads, homemade desserts & an extensive selection of over 100 domestic & imported wines complete your dining experience.

We asked for a quiet booth, and we were seated at a fairly quiet one, allowing us to converse easily with each other. Wilton was our waiter; he gave excellent service! We started with cocktails and the seared ahi tuna appetizer and enjoyed both. The tuna was seared perfectly, and we enjoyed the sauce and cucumber ginger salad it came with. We then ordered one Caesar salad to split - one salad order is huge! Yummy with a little fresh ground pepper added. We ordered our steaks then with a side of mushrooms plus a glass of red wine each. My petite filet was cooked perfectly to a medium rare and tasted delicious with the added lobster tail. My friend’s New York Strip steak was cooked to a medium/medium well after he asked for medium rare, but he enjoyed it anyway, did not want to send back. Wilton advised me on what cab was the driest of the wines by the glass, and I was very happy with his recommendation. We finished up with coffee for me and a piece of the sinful chocolate dessert for my friend; he loved it! When we want a quiet, delicious meal out together, we opt for Ruth’s Chris and are not disappointed!
