We had a 6:15 PM reservation and ended up waiting over an hour and a half to be seated — with no proactive communication or update from the manager on duty. We were originally told it would be just a 20-minute delay. This was meant to be a special celebration for my child’s 3rd birthday, but it turned into a frustrating and stressful experience. Not a single apology, no complimentary drinks, no gesture to make up for the situation — just silence and disorganization. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and indifference from the staff made an already bad situation feel downright disrespectful. Truly disappointing management and customer care. Marc

Running an hour behind schedule with no warning we we called or when we checked in for the reservation that we had for nearly 2 months. By the time we learned about how long the wait would be, it was too late to find alternative arrangements. We had hungry teens, including graduates. Purchased appetizers to try to hold them over. Despite sitting at the bar it took over 30 minutes for someone to ask if we needed assistance and the bar was not overly busy. Some of our party had to leave and were unable to celebrate with us due to the wait and their long drives home / other obligations. Really unfortunate. No apologies, no discounts, no comped appetizers or drinks… nothing. Just that it was a busy time. We will not be returning.

I made a reservation for my son’s graduation celebration because I knew it would be close to impossible to get in as a walk in. We still had to wait over an hour to be seated. My kids had to sit outside because it was extremely crowded inside. The evening was saved due to a very nice cook. Earl turned our evening around and kept us engaged and entertained. I don’t understand how making a reservation meant nothing. I made the reservation days in advance and confirmed ahead of time as well. My son LOVES Benihana’s but we don’t go as often as he would like because it doesn’t seem efficiently ran. I guess it’s still good for business on your side but as a consumer, it’s can be looked at as too much to deal with. Just my opinion.

My reservation was at 7pm didn’t get seated until 8:40pm. The waiter never lit the grill, we sat for an additional 45 minutes only to find out we had to move to another table then waited another 25 minutes for the chef. The manager did apologize but some of our guest had to leave because it took so long. We were at the restaurant for over 5 hours and I forgot we arrived early at 6pm. Please stop over booking or schedule more chefs and waiters.

I will never come back to the Torrance location. We had a reservation for 8 people and still had to wait over 40 minutes. The hostess was beyond rude and laughed and smerked when we questioned why we had to wait so long and told us we were lucky we weren't waiting longer. The manager was of zero help or assistance and admitted he was talking to us only to shut us up. Our server had no idea what he was doing and over charged us by more than $80. The food was fine, nothing special. We will never come back here again and I advise you don't either.
