   I walk in with a reservation at 7:15 and sat down at 8 pm. They were understaffed and the hibachi cook had the heat on too high and burnt all of our food

   The food was good, the chef did not put on much of a show, and it was extremely LOUD. Honestly I was a little disappointed, but it was father's day so you can forgive a less than perfect presentation. But it was pricey and you would expect a more professional effort.

   Took my father out for father's day and he enjoyed the experience.He love seeing the food cooked in front him.

   Overall, the experience was good. However, one of the people in the other party at our table had a shrimp allergy, and one of my sons had ordered scallops as his entree. His meal, as well as our shrimp fried rice had to wait until the other things had all been cooked. I understand the caution, but my son had to eat after everyone else had finished.

   I will never dine at this location again. I made a reservation for 12 people a month in advance. It was my twin daughters, sweet 16 party. We were all there at 7 PM. We got seated at a table where there was very little room. Many of lights were burnt out. They only had three functioning lights so it was very dark. Our waitress was kind and helpful. But the food had not arrived by 8:30 PM. I spoke to the general manager three separate times and each time he would tell me 10 more minutes and he was doing the best he could. Tables seated later than us had their chef arrive sooner. By 8:40 PM, we left. Our daughters’ event was ruined. We wound up going to a sushi bar in Westfield that would accommodate us at 9 PM. total disaster. I will try Menlo again but you need to find a new general manager at your short hills location.

   There is no point in making a reservation here - we were not seated for 35 minutes after our reservation time. Our time was for lunch, but were handed a holiday menu, which was double the cost of the lunch specials. When we asked (after having to find someone), we were told that as the Friday before Father’s Day, there were no lunch specials this day and only the (pricier) holiday menu was available. We left at this point and grabbed lunch elsewhere

   The place was filthy dirty. Our hibachi table was smoking and had the smell of burning oil to the point. We had to move to another table. The grill did not work. Flew on my neck during dinner The only positive was Chef was excellent Place has declined and repair in desperate need of maintenance and updates. Customer for 25+ years is that disappointing
