   My sister and I were in from New York for the weekend and picked this restaurant based on reviews. We could not have been more pleased. The ambiance was quintessential New England. So cozy and inviting on a stormy January night. We were greeted by the manager John who gave us a brief history of the beautiful inn and helped us select the perfect wine for our dinner. My sister ordered the cod and I had the salmon. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sides of risotto and farro were delicious. Our waitress could not have been lovelier. We will definitely come back.

   A great experience. We have also done tea there and had a similar great time. Excellent food.

   lovely place for a special meal. The staff was helpful and atmosphere lovely. We hit it on a very quiet post holiday evening.

   Wonderful evening. Pre-New Years celebration with the in-laws. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. We had a lovely table for 5 by the fireplace. Been there before and always enjoyed it, but this was the best food we’ve ever had there. Our family all had the saddle of lamb which was cooked to perfection. In-laws has Salmon and veal chop. Our daughter substituted the cheese plate listed as an appetizer for dessert which was a brilliant idea. It’s a long ride for us, but totally worth it. I wish it was closer but the ambience is so lovely it’s hard to resist it.

   A very quiet and romantic dinner. Limited menu, food was good. Our server was very good and friendly.

   The food was delicious. The staff noticed without my saying that I was not 100% comfortable physically at the table where we were initially seated and they suggested a different table which was a perfect fit for our long legs . Impressive that they noticed subtle clues. The holiday decorations were lovely and all fireplaces were lit and cozy. And importantly as stated first, the food was absolutely delicious. We each ordered different starters, entrees and deserts and all were excellent.

    A lovely spot particularly at Christmas. Well decorated and pleasant fireplaces. But then.....the food and cost. Very expensive, and not very good. I had one veal chop for $48. The other 3 of our guests had slightly less expensive choices but equally poor quality. Also very few choices on the menu, but perhaps they had to do that for Christmas Eve.
