   The food is beyond amazing. The brown sugar bacon. Chef kisses. Scrambled eggs was the right amount of fluff. The cold brew is very tasty. Would definitely come back.

   The food was decent for a breakfast. Service was just meh! Beatrix is part of Lettuce Entertain You group. They charge a 3% surcharge THAT ONLY GOES TO THE RESTAURANT AND THEY DO NOT NOTIFY YOU OF IT. It is somewhere on the website and menu. IF you ask, they will remove. On principal, I have them remove it. Also, you pay with a QR code and the first tip that is already marked off is 25% (actually 25.01)! Then it goes down to 23% or 20%. You can then find in the corner where you can decide on your own tip! As the City of Chicago pays minimum wage for servers now (v how it was before), perhaps servers think they do not need to work for the extra 22-25% (that I usually pay). AND Beatrix thinks they can AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE A SURCHARGE AND 25%. BUYER BEWARE! SHAME ON Lettuce Entertain you!

   We made a reservation but the staff checking people in had NO process for keeping things moving on a busy Sat morning. They just kept taking names for people without reservations without managing the process those with reservations. Then the food was really disappointing. The lemon pancakes were not fully cooked (!!!) and the ranchero egg burrito was simply horrible! I have eaten at many Beatrix locations and have never had this experience. I will return but NOT to this location!!!

   Overall I enjoyed my dining experience. There were a good amount of gluten free options, and came out with an allergy flag. I have eaten here before and not gotten sick. My only complaint would be there surcharge (which is optional). If you don’t pay attention you will be stuck with it as it seems it’s cashless and once waitress put down bill she never came back so we could have it removed. Strongly recommend if you don’t want to pay it, then advise at start of your dining experience.

   Arrived early and was told “about 20 minutes or less” and was finally seated IN THE COFFEE SHOP AREA not the main dining room as requested about 45 minutes later. After sitting down noticed several tables in Main dining room were empty! Service was “OK” and food (as usual) was very good. Even though sitting a few tables away from the coffee machine it took forever to actually get any coffee (which arrived lukewarm as waiter clearly waited for other drinks to even check if coffee was ready.) Not sure we would go back again after several “average” visits—mostly service issues.

   We had a wonderful Easter/Birthday meal with a small party. The service was gracious and the food exceeded expectations. We order a variety of entrees and shared them. Conversation was easy since the room was quiet. We had a great experience.

   Out of this world! We had a group of 5 for brunch on Easter. We are glad we made a reservation cause they were busy… and now we know why! The coffees and fresh juices were delicious! We got a cinnamon roll latte, iced Mexican coffees, and the pomegranate & passionfruit fresh juice. Super good! The food is so fresh and delicious. Belgian waffles were really good (the whipped cream is homemade which is always a plus for us!). Chilaquiles are good too! But the star of the show was the lemon ricotta pancakes that my boyfriend’s mom got. I have never tasted pancakes that melt in your mouth like that. They were fluffy but perfectly thin. No idea how they do it! We will be back for everything!

    Outstanding! Food was excellent! Do yourself a favor and order the green chili chicken enchiladas! Far exceeded my expectations; phenomenal! Loved the ambiance. Stellar, attentive service! 5 stars!
