   Alma de Cuba is set in an amazing building, previously a church I assume. No expensive has been spared in fitting it out into a Cuban nightclub, bar, and restaurant set over 2-3 floors. We went on Friday evening and it was absolutely buzzing with fun - great for people watching and their were some amazing people to watch! I'm afraid I can't say we felt the same about the service though, we had to ask to order our drinks and meal. My husband's drink arrived and then we waited at least 10 minutes before my wine arrived and again we had to remind the water. There seemed to be a phenomenal amount of staff around but no-one is actually looking at the customers to see if they have their orders or more likely are trying to get the attention of the staff? Our starters were ok, although my 2 puny spring rolls didn't really impress. Our main courses arrived with the wrong sides but again it took several minutes before we could attract any attention to bring this to someone's notice. They did offer to cook the food again but we just switched things across the plates ourselves. The waiter did bring 2 additional side orders to the table by way of apology, but we didn't want more food than we'd ordered (especially dauphiniose potatoes to go with tuna?) and the mix up didn't make for an enjoyable meal. Interestingly the restaurant didn't seem particularly busy but the bar below was very busy. Possibly the bar area is more profit making and that's where they concentrate the staff. I can't say we didn't enjoy the evening but unless customer service is improved in the restaurant, I would think they'll be relying on their drinking public not their eating public.

   Had a lovely meal. Limited wine menu due to them changing supplier. Food was fantastic. Very well presented. Only negative I can think of is that the place was freezing cold, so wrap warm!

   This is the second time of eating here and the food is consistently adventurous, good quality and fairly priced. Unfortunately our experience of service this time was poor. Firstly I had a phone call mid-afternoon to say they couldn't take credit cards as the system was down, annoying but fair enough. Arrived 10 mins early and were greeted with a very unfriendly, "you can sit down but no-one can take your order for 10 minutes", not very welcoming. Service was then very slow and it appeared only one waiter was 'authorised' to take orders and he was unable to cope. Would still recommend and put the latest experience down to a one off, hopefully?!

   We had a really nice sunday lunch which was enhanced by Live Gospel Singers. We were impressed with the ambiance, service and the well-thought-out choices made within this venue. The management (and staff) should be proud of such a good venue...We'll definitely be back but in the evening next time as we've heard it is just as good, if not better, at night!

   This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Wow !!! I can't say enough about this place. It's better than any restaurant I've been to in london. Stunning describes the decor, ambience, service, attention to detail and most importantly - the food. Add the fantastic singer/pianist and it was just the most amazing evening. To top it all, there was a 50% off the food bill !!!!!! (A Janaury deal) I would definitely visit Alma de Cuba when I return to Liverpool. 5 stars.

   We had a great meal, and good entertainment (music) and on the January sale we got 50% off our food, we remembered the sale from last year. This is my favourite restaurant in Liverpool.

   Went with my wife and 2 children (aged 4 and 6) to have Sunday dinner and see the gospel choir. It was even better than we imagined. The service was excellent, with such a helpful waiter nad the ambience was fantastic. Would recommend to all.

   Late evening meal with my wife. Great service. Lovely staff who were not too pushy!! Great food. Lovely monkfish and chorizo skewers!! Really busy downstairs which added to a lovely friendly atmosphere! The petal drop and cuban dancing finished off a lovely Saturday evening out! I would definitely return!

    Decor is gorgeous gives a really nice feel to the place. Service was second to none and food was really nice. Will definitely be coming back.
