   Food was great place is great. Our server was fantastic but charging $.50 to put Parmesan cheese on a salad is pretty petty and that may keep me from coming here again of course not the 50 Cent. Just the fact that they would charge that.

   We had a great experience, everything from the food, to the ambiance, to the staff. We will definitely be back!

   We went to Alices to see what it was like and enjoy a view of Lake Hopatcong. Upon arrival (15 minutes early) we were informed that our table wasn't ready (no biggie) and it was suggested we go downstairs to have a drink at the bar, so we did. Our time for the reservation came and nobody came to get us so we went upstairs to see if our table was ready and it was. We sat down and it took several minutes to have a waitress come and ask for our drink order. Within 10 minutes our drinks came as did our appetizer Buffalo Deviled Eggs (very good). That is when the service slowed to a crawl. Our waitress came by 3 times to advise us that our meal will be ready shortly. 45 minutes later the meal came out. I will say it was hot but the aggravation for the wait when the restaurant was not full did not make it enjoyable. No explanation was provided on why it was late. During the entire dinner my wife was smelling the septic from the Windlass as the wind was blowing in off the lake. Upon finishing our meal we requested the check, paid, 12% tip and departed. As we were going down the steps a person in a green shirt with a mustache yelled to me as I forgot my sunglasses at the table. His comment hey guy you left your sunglasses and since you are already unhappy, and I wouldn't want you get more unhappy. This was said in front of other guests going to and from the restaurant. I said thank you. He then stated something else that I could not hear. If this was a manager (didn't identify himself), he tried to embarrass me instead of asking why I was unhappy and left a minimal tip. I did not expect this type of service or attitude (if he was a manager) from Alices. It is very disheartening to have this experience.

   It was a special menu day that we knew about. My husband got a mixed grill that had flank steak, a marinated chicken thigh, and kielbasa. Everything was cooked too long on the grill and was over cooked. (He is not a person to send a meal back, he just will not go again,) I had gotten a Caesar salad which I knew I would not finish since I was having a meal too. The Caesar salad was very good but it did not have enough dressing. I did not ask for more while I was eating it since I knew I was taking some home. Therefore, when I asked for a box for it, I did ask for some dressing to take. I was charged .50 cents for that. In the grand picture it is not a lot of money but the Caesar salad was 10 dollars and I would have expected that I should be able to get a little additional dressing for free. Drinks were excellent and our server was very nice.

   The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was casual with a great view of the lake. All around, a great choice!

   It was our first time dining at Alice’s. After a long day on the lake, we had an amazing dinner with a spectacular view. We are very happy we found another place to eat on the lake!!

    Fun cool place… yummy food. Hostess was a bit rude when I requested a booth.
