Wilshire Ratings and Reviews
Food was good and large portions
Nice patio setting, lasagna was delicious but huge portion size!
Wilshire has a new chef.who's great
There is anew chef here. The last dinner was outstanding. Its the best Patio dining west of the 405. It s a great place.
Our Favorite special event restaurant
the outdoors and good food near a fireplace , quiet and excellent service. Who could ask for more??

The Wilshire patio is beautiful, fresh, & offers a delightful dining experience. The wait staff, drinks, and food are terrific.
It's a truth universally acknowledged that a person in want of a delicious meal , attended by well trained wait staff is in need of a trip to " Wilshire." The Lobster salad was fresh and very tasty ,nicely accompanied by the ginger ice tea! "A good fortune" is not necessary to dine here.
Enjoying lunch here is a breeze
Dependable, Delicious and Delightful. I have eaten here several times and have not been disappointed once. My favorite dish is the lobster cobb - -looks as good as it tastes, although everything I saw served looked wonderful. Sit inside or out in a garden setting. You can count on servers being eager to please and the personnel being very accommodating. Valet parking.
The caesar salad came AFTER my severely undercooked steak. Go figure.
Fine neighborhood restaurant
Excellent food and service. Ambiance a bit wide-open and convivial, a bit impersonal. Pretty pricey, especially the wine--few good options under $100 though with skill and searching we found a very good Spanish one for $75. Nicest thing is that it's kid-friendly--we were without kids but enjoyed seeing a lot there. A fine place for inland Santa Monica--great local restaurant.
I had never been to Wilshire and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, food and the service. Most importantly, as I was there for a business meeting, we were so delighted that we could hold a conversation and hear each other!
Outdoor Dining in a Beautiful Setting
I've been to Wilshire for dinner several times and every time it's been excellent. The patio area is charming and everyone loves the space and food. The menu has a nice selection of options -- I've had the chicken, salmon and black cod and they were all delicious. The flat bread is a nice starter. It's one of my favorite places in the Santa Monica area.
Stunning patio ambiance
I don't usually write restaurant reviews, but this was my second visit to The Wilshire (first time was for a private party in the Library room which was so wonderful as well!). Again my mother and I were not disappointed in the slightest, and brought my two friends with us as well. We were actually 15 minutes late for our reservation but the host and hostess were very accommodating and we only had to wait about 10 minutes at the bar until they were able to seat us regardless. The patio was so beautiful, I hadn't seen it before, and we had plenty of space even though it was full out there. I had the special of night, brown butter scallops, that were massive and delicious! The Fiery Mai Tai drink was great once again, and our server was so helpful and patient even with my friend who is vegan and asked a plethora of questions and had many substitutions for her vegetarian burger. Thank you so much, I will be back! Hopefully for a romantic date with my boyfriend next time!
Perfect spot for a relaxing meal.
We always enjoy the Wilshire. A great spot to enjoy a great patio experience with delicious, well prepared meals. Take your friends too!

Has gone downhill
We had not been at Wilshire for quite some time and decided to try it out again. We were disappointed by the quality of the food - tuna appetizer was flavorless, shortribs and lamb chops were extremely fatty, and price was high for the quality of food we received. Will not go back again.
Amazing! Very romantic. Food was delicious! Overall amazing place to celebrate a special occasion or date night. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
Always a great party at Wilshire!
One of my favorite venues for Westside dining...even when it is cold outside the patio is terrific!

Went for Valentine's Day and it was a let down. We have dined at Wilshire a lot over the past few years and this time the service was good but our food wasn't even hot...we just wanted to finish and go. It feels like it's declined over the past year or so... Probably won't go back.
Haven't been to Wilshire is a few years. It was a friend's favorite place, but I hadn't been back since he moved away. That was a mistake. Had dinner there with a group on Friday and rediscovered this gem. Great food. Great service. Reasonably priced. I won't wait so long to go back.
A secret place easily overlooked on a "drive-by"
My guests and I loved our dinner there. The outside patio is wonderful. Everyone raved about the food and the service was very good, too.
We asked for a very quiet table on the patio and arrived early. We were seated as requested. 10 minutes later a very loud table of men were seated right next to us, despite all the other tables being unoccupied! The hostess seemed clueless when we complained. We ended up inside - the food and service were excellent. Why oh why do they think patrons come to listen to music chosen by the owners/managers rather than wanting to dine and visit with friends???
Very comfortable outdoor seating
I've dined at The Wilshire several times, both at lunch and dinner. The outdoor seating is very comfortable and always a surprise to find this relaxing oasis as you walk in from a busy Wilshire Blvd. At my last lunch I enjoyed the fish tacos and a pomegranate lemonade. The service was perfect.
Great, Classy Place
Came here with my aunt and girlfriend. Beautiful outdoor patio space, food was amazing, drinks were great. It's a bit pricey but you're getting great food and drinks for the price. Highly recommend.
Looked forward to a nice Christmas Eve dinner with family members. The restaurants interior rooms are very nice. The lighting and varied decor is comfortable and inviting. We sat out on the patio, heat lamps going, a fireplace and streams of outdoor lights. So far so good. Ordered wine, waiter returns, sorry we are out of that, ordered second choice, waiter returns, sorry we are out. Asked for his suggestion, he comes back again---guess what? How does a restaurant list wines and not have sufficient inventory? We were simply asking for Sauvignon Blanc. Nothing exotic. I requested he check with bartender and bring us WHATEVER was available. We were 5 people, 3 entrees were good, 2 just ok. Service was slow after ordering. What would you think about returning?
Dining Exexperience was enjoyable, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful time and experience with good food and exceptional service.
MOre than I expected.
From the outside one would not know about the wonderful patios and library room and special rooms in the restaurant. Wonderful. All the staff were warm, friendly and inviting. Loved being there. My food was good (French dip) but I'm planning on trying some other things the next time I come.

Great lunch spot on the courtyard. Great service and food.
Good food, if that's all you are after...
The food was good, but service lacked and ambiance not very energizing. Felt like a place that had its heydays, but no longer... Menu was fairly limited as well. We had the salmon dish, but it is more of a meat place.
The patio/ garden is fantastic
The food was good, the patio was great, the waiter had ADD.
Favorite spot for business lunches
I have taken several business lunches here, and it never disappoints. The menu is gourmet enough to impress, but diverse enough that everyone can find something they like. The outdoor patio is a perfect break from being stuck in an office all day.

SErvice was Ok and 2out of 3 meals served as ordered. Sent skirt steak back to be cooked to requested medium. The special souffle was somewhere between soup and pudding
Took an important client with his wife since they had never been there previously. They and we were very pleased with every aspect of our dinner experience from great food to very attentive and timely service. A Santa Monica must ! No need to go east over 405 for a fine restaurant experience

Although the food tasted delicious, it was quite pricey especially since dishes are a la carte. However, the outdoor dining experience was charming & intimate.
I was sorry the slaw was so much spicier than we'd thought it would be. My French Dip was good but not great. The fries got hard and cold awfully fast but the potato chips were excellent.

Food was delicious. Used to come here for the bar until they closed it down. Had always been curious about the food so I recently decided to try it. We had a fantastic, fun, and helpful waiter. Pork chops we phenomenal and so was their fish. Everything tasted great.
Lovely patio, delicious food
Perfect for a warm beautiful L.A. night. Beautiful patio, noise level good for conversation, and food was delicious.
We've been to Wilshire about a half dozen times, mostly to celebrate birthdays or some special occasion. The outdoor patio is such a lovely setting, open to the sky with many trees and small lights lending a charming atmosphere. The service is always first-rate and the food has never disappointed. Our group ordered the duck special in a port wine reduction, black cod (two) and seabass; all were wonderful, as were salads. Although their only acknowledgement of a birthday celebration is to provide a candle in whichever dessert you order (not comped), this is an exceptional restaurant to which we'll return.
Not like it used to be
Such a beautiful outdoor dining experience but it was pretty dead on a Saturday night. We went several months ago and it was fun and lively so it was a bit of a disappointment- not sure what changed? Food was pretty good but would not recommend the veggie burger. Great drinks at the bar!
Noisy and disruptive for conversation
The food and service was very good but it was all destroyed by the too loud music. I want to be able to converse with friends, not scream to be heard - if that's even possible. Too bad they think their patrons only want to shovel food into their mouths.
May have had its best days
Had a client lunch and it was not impressive. I picked it because of their patio, which is beautiful. The lunch crowd was older, quiet. Not a cool vibe or much of any vibe. Two of us got the fish tacos that they were not good. The tortilla was unimpressive and plain. The guacamole was piled on completely drowning out the fish and making the dish fall apart in your hands. They do have great brussel sprouts.
