We were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service were. Top notch !!! My husband had the Top sirloin and thought it was as good as a filet . We are foodies and very picky and we have nothing but good things to say about the delicious meal. The only bad thing I can say is that it is a very upscale restaurant but because it is in the Chumash casino many people were dressed in shorts and T-shirts for dinner.
Everything was going perfect until we got the main course, meat, which was brought to us withe the wrong temperatures. After they kindly replaced them, the new ones were just a bit better. I think the quality of the meat it self was not good. The side orders and the rest were impecable.
One of the best steaks I have had. Prefect flavor and cooked a perfect medium rare. Service was fine once someone finally came over. Almost left but we just waited in a 20 minute valet line. Bar was extremely loud and noise carried throughout the restaurant.

Each time I eat there I think I've had my favorite dish. Then I try something new, and change my mind. Really enjoy the service and staff.
Mostly Good Experience
We had a great meal at Willows. Service was good and prompt. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The beet salad and the bison carpaccio were great starters (although the beet salad is portrayed in a much more artistic fashion on the website...). Portions were bigger than we'd expected. We would have been happy with half-size portions. The rack of lamb and dry-aged prime New York steak were both excellent entrees and cooked exactly how we ordered them.

Didn't care too much for the dining room they put us in stead of the main dining room.
In N Out! :(
We have just moved to the Santa Ynez Valley. This was our 3rd time coming to The Willows in the last two months. Due to Valentine's Day being so busy, I understand we could not have our original time ( 6:00 pm) we requested or have a booth. Our dinner time was 5:15 pm. We were on time. We were seated right away in an overflow room, w/a lovely view. That was fine. The service was nice, the food was over the top good! We did not order the special, we ordered off the regular menu. Sergio is the best! and never disappoints. My feeling disappointed comes from when we were walking out of The Willows AT 6:20 I noticed there were plenty of empty booths in the main room and the room was maybe half full. I feel when you make reservations at a higher end restaurant for a special occasion the meal should last a little longer than an hour.
NIce fine dining experience
I loved the Willows before it was remodeled and was concerned that the food may take a hit with the new opening, but with the addition of some notable menu items I am pleased to say it was still as delicious as previously. I am a little disappointed with the new set-up. A lot of wasted space and not as "warm" as the previous restaurant felt, but it definitely puts off a classy vibe and I definitely will return. I was happy to see many of the original staff had returned after the long break.
Professional work crew
From manager, to server, to all personnel, I noticed a well organized and friendly staff comitted to making the most enjoyable experience possible. Server described all dishes with passion and clarity. Food was superbly prepared with tantalizing combinations.
great menu, good service, outstanding meal
The meal preparation was perfect. The lobster was tender and tasty. The scallops were "to die for" the lobster Bisque was VERY good
It was a great dinning experience with great food and service. The only down side is that you have to walk through the casino to get to the restaurant. I recommend it to all my friends. It is expensive, but the service is excellent. I'm now finished with my review and don't wish to write the full 50 words.

The best dressed oysters ever! Everything was do delicious.
Have gone to the Willows Restaurant on New Years Eve for the last 3 years and had a fantastic dinner and time each year.
A fantastic dinning experience. Everything was perfect. I requested a table for two in one of the alcoves for a little privacy for the special occasion of our second wedding anniversary. WE had the room to ourselves and the waitress couldn't have been more attentive to the occasion and our wishes. Our meal was completed with a special desert dish prepared just for us and our anniversary. I have no problem giving the Willows my highest recommendation. And we look forward to a replay next year!!!
Had Christmas dinner there.
Food was good and the service was excellent. The only complaint was we had to navigate the entire casino from the parking area to reach the escalator to the restaurant. Not fun...smoky and very crowded.
Service and food were wonderful. My husband found the booth seats to be somewhat uncomfortable. The decor and atmosphere gives an intimate experience. Overall, the dining experience was pleasurable. Would highly recommend to friends.
Great food in a beautiful restaurant
I had a wonderful porterhouse steak...my wife had a terrific pork chop. Both were prepared very well.
Enjoyable Dinner Experience
This a birthday celebration while staying at the Chumash Hotel. Our dinner was great and serviced in a very classy way.
Great first impression
Very surprised at how great our experience was at the Willows restaurant. Recently redecorated, the Willows décor was very upscale and the staff highly professional. Our waitress Janson had a thorough knowledge of the menu items and was well versed on the wines grown in the San Yanez area. Food selection was unique; we would recommend the candied pork back with pickled grapes as well as the pea soup and halibut. There was also a nice touch when the restaurant manager greeted us and enquired about the food and service. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Willows.
From the wine to the dessert and everything in between was so delicious. Our waiter was a sweetheart. We will definitely return.

Good menu, great food and great service. Big group the night we visited and they were very loud. Candles or small lamps on the table and less light in the dining room would be a nice touch.
Service did not match the food.
We had Christmas dinner here and ordered from the prix fixe menu. The food was great but the waiter was distracted, harried and clueless about the menu. The poor service very much detracted from the dinner...unlikely we will ever go back.
This was our first time dining at Willows... I ordered the 3 course meal with wine paring... The salad was adequate, nothing special, the Prime rib was amazing... Cooked perfectly and the flavor was awesome.... The twice baked potatoe that I ordered with it was another story... Very dry with no flavor.... The dessert was also very good... Poached pear with a flavorful ice cream... I enjoyed the wine paring with each course but the amount was very small and not worth the extra cost in my opinion....
A Wonderful experience!
We went before a show at the Chumash showroom. Our server was amazing. He knew we were on a time schedule and made sure we had a lovely dinner without feeling rushed. The food was excellent, ambience lovely (but very noisy) and wonderful service! We will be back!!
not worth your time and the drive
Most memorable moments from my ten year wedding anniversary dinner with my wife was the terrible service and semi warm food that maybe to a blind person tasted better than Sizzler. Wouldn't recommend it to my enemies. I'm fortunate enough to be raised with manners or I would of asked for a refund.
OpenTable reservation disappeared!
I made a reservation through OpenTable for Thanksgiving, noting that we were also celebrating an anniversary. We were looking forward to an exceptional experience at this 4-diamond-rated restaurant. I received a confirmation email the day before Thanksgiving. When we arrived at the Willows, they said there was no reservation in our name!! We were seated anyway, as the restaurant was not busy shortly after opening on Thanksgiving afternoon. Nothing in the way of apology or even acknowledgement of the issue, however, arrived from the restaurant management. Apparently, they were expecting crowds, as our server arrived and announced that he was not one of the regular waitstaff, but a bartender. Therefore, he warned us, we should not expect him to do the service as the usual staff does. As it turned out, he shouldn't have been so hard on himself. Several of what I took to be the "usual staff" were frequently chatting with each other in the dining room near the kitchen. Other members of the staff served and removed the individual courses, neglecting to provide us with fresh forks for the main course. We have been to 4-diamond restaurants often, but this was not service I would characterize as 4-diamond. The general lack of training simply cannot be attributed to needing to have a bartender fill in. The meal was a special Thanksgiving fixed price menu, which was good, but not exceptional. The turkey was not particularly seasoned, and was a bit on the dry and tough side. Highlights were the opening butternut squash soup and the nicely presented pumpkin ice cream Baked Alaska, accompanied by gooseberries. There was no amuse bouche, the lovely tiny surprise that makes good restaurants beloved by their diners. Coffee was not offered. I have to conclude that the Willows on this holiday was some other operation, not the usual restaurant that had been so highly rated. Sadly, we are not likely to try again, as we have so many other fine restaurants in Santa Barbara County.
Very good but a bit too expensive
The wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We both had steaks. The beef was very good quality but both steaks were very underdone. Appetizers and sides were excellent. Service was very friendly but a bit sloppy for the prices charged. We spent $175 with tip. Overall very good but it felt like a meal that should have cost $125 tops. Also, no dress code here, there were diners in cargo shorts and biker t-shirts, not a problem for me, but it may bother some in this price range!

Always a delightful experience, especially before and after a concert.
Really enjoyed my birthday dinner at The Willows. The service and atmosphere were perfection. Well trained wait staff. This was a true sophisticated dining experience.
Dining fine is better than gambling
I have always wanted to dine at The Willows, ever since I first tasted their food at the Santa Barbara Wine Festival. This was such a good time! The bread basket with four toppings was over the top, the trio of soups was delicious, the cioppino divine and the lobster macaroni and cheese decadent (way too much food, but great leftovers). They have an excellent wine list and some really cool cocktails. My coworker and I spent three hours enjoying the excellent service, taking pictures of the courses and even the dinnerware (the wine buckets are cool)! Only down side was that we were seated right by the door where all the smokers went in and out. I will definitely be back with another foodie friend who was totally jealous of my experience.
Overrated. Not recommended
Waiter was young and not experienced in 3 star or greater dining. Food was just okeedokeeeeeee...not nearly worth the 5 star pricing. Used to be great. Now just mediocre at best.

My husband and I both felt the food was very expensive. The lobster mac and cheese did not WOW us however the veal chop was quite good. I guess I couldn't get over the hefty price for the lamb dish. Usually you pay that for a prime steak in L.A.
Wonderful clean food
First visit to Willows. Promptly seated. We had a nice table location. Food was very good with attractive presentation. server attentive. only complaint is we felt somewhat rushed. Every time I put fork down to pause, someone asked if I was done eating. My dish was still full of food. Not trying to catch a train.
Great Treat at "The Willows" !!!
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our delightful dinner at "The Willows". It was her birthday and after mentioning that to Chris, the server, he surprised her with a candle on the dessert we ordered! It was a divine dinner and absolutely one of the most gourmet meals we've had anywhere! Thank you so much for our first time dining experience at your restaurant with a terrific server who we will request again! Sincerely, Mary Williams
Excellent Service & Delicious Meal
Got seated at a little two-top against a wall, which was next to the kitchen/staff area, which unfortunately, was quite busy and loud with traffic - to be expected in that area, next time will ask to be seated further away. Our server however, was EXCEPTIONAL, she answered all of our questions with ease, gave us recommendations for both food and specialty drinks (lobster bisque and apple margaritas were amazing!) thus the excellent service and food definitely made our first visit enjoyable and I'd go back to eat there again anytime.
A hidden away gem
Never would have guessed it would have been so good, but it was definitely worth the money. We ordered great cocktails to start, and the bread basket was amazing. The caesar salads were delicious, and the 22 oz. rib eye was wonderful. Dessert was great. All in all, we will be back.
Good service, we didn't have to wait long for anything
Special occasion spot
Good food, good service.....for a special occasion try the Willows. Bring your wallet as all choices on the menu are pricy. The overall experience is worth it.
