My husband's dinner of grouper was not very good. Fish was dark, mashed potatoes and asparagus cold. My lobster was very good and sides hot.
I had a tasteless shrimp scampi.
We have been here several times over the years and we keep coming back because of the view and the ambiance . The seafood is fresh but cooked without seasoning. I had shrimp scampi, totally tasteless . Do not order that dish or you will be disappointed. My husband had the whole flounder and it was fresh but equally tasteless . Food seem to be cooked for people with dietary restrictions .

Portobello mushroom app was terrible. Tasted like it had been microwaved - very chewy - and not even hot all the way through. The flounder sandwich was very fishy tasting. Fries were good! Restaurant was not busy (Sunday afternoon) but still the service was very slow. First and last time visiting this restaurant.

Great brunch and a great server! All set on their beautiful porch
Great Place on the Water
Love going here. Friendly staff, good food, fine wine, great view of Shem Creek. While we were there the construction of new docks was going on. Does spoil view somewhat. It is temporary.
Outstanding food and service
I called the restaurant before making an Open Table reservation, asking if they still had soft shell crabs, since I had them there last April and they were excellent. John told me he couldn't guarantee it, but he would do his best to accommodate me. When we were seated at the restaurant, John came to our table to introduce himself and tell me they had set aside an order of soft shell crabs for me. That began an exceptional evening of a beautiful scenic setting, great food, and exemplary service provided by our waiter Will and John's attentiveness. And the soft shell crabs were delicious! But the whole menu is worth repeat visits, and the service makes it even more so.
Went for Sunday brunch. Liked it very much
My wife and I were on vacation. Wanted to get a nice brunch for Sunday morning. Thought we would get out of Charleston and go to Shem Creek. Glad we did. It was a bit cold and windy, so we sat indoors but had a window table. Overlooked the river. They were in the process of replacing the docks, so there were construction barges there, but it was still a nice view. They had a buffet but we ordered from the menu. The buffet looked great but we just didn't want to eat more than a single omelet. We wanted a really good bloody mary, so ordered them. Turns out it was a make your own. They gave us glasses filled with ice and vodka. They showed us to a special table with an amazing amount of ingredients to put into the drink. I would have loved this but I have no idea how to make the drink, so winged it. Mine was not bad. My wife's wasn't as good. I think she needed to add horseradish. Anyway, I had a garden omelet. I wanted whole wheat toast which they don't have, as they don't cater to those that want to stay away from simple carbs. My wife had cheddar and ham omelet. It was good and not processed. Smoked ham. I would definitely go back from brunch and would like to try Water's Edge for dinner some day.

Beautiful setting on Shem Creek. Service was excellent and so was the food.
They should have comped the desert.
It was my 60th birthday and they knew it. Our bill was over $120 for the 2 of us and they charged for the Key Lime pie. Not a good move. Otherwise, the dinner was great.

Amazing frogmore stew, vey good crab cakes. Red rice was barely warm, and undercooked. Cheesecake was dry and bland. Slow service.
Fun by the sea
Got there early and enjoyed happy hour in the outdoor bar. Great deal. Had a great dinner inside where we could look out over the water.

Food was good, slow service and forgot appetizer.
We eat at Water's Edge frequently. Repeatedly, the price of the bottle of wine on the bill is higher than the price of the wine on their wine list. Each time we asked that this be corrected; obviously it has not been taken care of. Also, it should be common courtesy for the manager to apologize.

Lovely dinner overlooking Shem Creek. Be aware that construction is partially obstructing the view for a bit. My spouse and I enjoyed our oyster and portobella mushroom appetizers. We both had the gluten-free broiled seafood platter, which was very good. Service was very prompt and professional. Will return!

Yellowfin Tuna to Die For
I have had yellowfin tuna numerous times, but I must say this restaurant has it down. This would be a definite must on our dining list next time in town!

Great place to eat on Shem Creek--inside or out!
The presentation was beautiful; the food was fair.
Water's Edge is not the only restaurant located on Shem Creek. I really wish we had chosen a different one. We sat outside and even though we were eaten alive by the no-see-ums, I'm glad we did. Sitting dock-side on Shem Creek is not to be missed. The food at Water's Edge was beautiful to look at, but bland and over cooked. The service was poor, our waiter was largely absent.

Kevin was a great server! Attentive AND entertaining. Two great salads(one goat cheese and one duck medallion salad), one glass of wine each and we were set! Ridiculously wet weather kept the Easter Day crowd down

First visit so ordered calamari to start which was excellent. My wife had special sea bash which was good. I had crispy flounder which was good but could have skipped the mixed vegetables.
The view and the ambiance of the restaurant was great. Perfect for a quiet romantic dinner or dinner with friends. Not really kid friendly - not much to entertain the little ones. The server was super friendly and helpful. The food was not to my taste. We ordered the crab dip and it was more cheese than crab. We also ordered the spicy cream seafood pasta - very heavy cream used and could not tell what was seafood. It's a shame because the environment was great.
I will do it again!
I took my out of town guests there and we greatly enjoyed the promptness of service and the wonderful food. The only disappointment was that the construction didn't allow us the scene I have previously enjoyed , but I know it isn't your fault. Hope it is finished soon and that my company returns.
Love it there
I always enjoy their food & service. The view of Shem Creek is a treat if you get a waterfront table. They also have outdoor deck dining. Never had a bad meal there.
Water's Edge is always top our list when we visit area. It never disappoints
enjoyed the view from the indoor restaurant, would like to return and try outdoor patio, Appetizer and main course were both prepared to order, would definitely recommend to others
The service was terrible and the food was not much better. The server was not pleasant, she made us fee like she wished we hadn't come in for dinner. The food was overpriced considering the quality and taste. The sauce tasted as though it was out of a jar, barely warmed over the pasta. The steak had zero flavor. If you find yourself stuck eating here, get the burger, it was the only thing out of our table of five that someone enjoyed.

I've eaten here a few times before & I always order the seafood pasta. However, the amount of food I received on this occasion was disgraceful. Also, a member of my party requested the sirloin, but they were sold out... On Valentine's Day.. At 8:00.. Definitely unacceptable. The fried oyster platter was also not worth my $9. The server was unattentive also. Won't be visiting again anytime soon.
My wife made our reservation for four of us the morning prior to when we planned to have dinner which was on Valentine's Day. Our reservations were for 7:45. We were seated a few minutes early and with a view like we requested. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Each of us ordered different entrees and no one left disappointed! The ladies even received a carnation upon leaving. Perfect night!
Entrées were excellent. The reconstruction of dock facilities detracted from overall experience.
We were a group of 6 brunch was great. Great selection of food & drinks. We had 2 young children with us. They loved the food. Price was right. Nice brunch experience

My wife and I have eaten at The Water's Edge many times. We always bring out of town guests because the experience is always a good one. The food is always good and the wine and beer selection is always perfect. I love sitting on the creek side and sometimes we are fortunate to get a great dolphin show.
