Walnut Brewery Ratings and Reviews
OK little brewery
Decent choice of beer, food was "ok". Service was good. No kids menu if that's important to you.

great for family
We had a group of 9, and with reservations ahead, we were seated right away. Food was excellent and the service was great, too.

Walnut Brewery is a very nice place to go for dinner on the weekend. While the service was iffy, the restaurant was packed, and the ambiance was nice for what was expected. I will definitely be returning soon.
Beer and fish 'n chips -- 'nuf said
The salmon fish and chips here is a fantastic dish. You get 4 generous pieces of smoked salmon with fries and a little cole slaw. Share with someone or have a huge meal yourself. Top it off with a yummy beer -- my favorite was the Old Elk Brown Ale -- and you have a hearty meal. Enjoy!
Reliably good every time
Walnut Brewery is a good choice when you need to please a variety of palates.....our party enjoyed burgers, the kale salad with chicken, fish and chips and, of course, some good brews. Service was great for our party of seven.
Very cool place
This is a very nice brewery, and a very unique building.
We met another couple for dinner. Nice place with character, reasonable prices, everyone liked their meal, would be glad to go back.
Craft beer gems and great food
We enjoyed our dinner at Walnut Brewery. We had some very interesting and tasty beers. In a place like Boulder where there is a craft beer scene to stand out with excellent beers is no small task. Great food too and well beyond regular pub chow. Will go back.
My friends took me here 24 years ago. The food, beer, and ambiance haven't changed. It's still a great place!
Good not great restaurant
Great beer! Food and service was just ok. We were disappointed with our first experience there.
Fine meal, fun time
We selected Walnut Brewery based on OpenTable reviews and were not disappointed. The food was good, the atmosphere lively, and the staff friendly. Overall a good time.
Noisy Bar scene
Busy place. Mostly a bar that serves food. Burgers were good.
Worth the detour from Pearl Street
My husband and I had an early lunch at Walnut where we enjoyed a flight of beers and split an appetizer (Chorizo Cotija Pretzel Bites) and burger (Bison Prairie Burger). The food was all very high quality and well prepared which makes for a very satisfying nosh.
Boulder Favorite Awesome Food and Brew
I have been eating at Walnut Brewery for over 10 years. Every time I visit, Walnut Brewery is on my list. Nachos are large and tasty. Bison burger is the best I have ever had. Even the kids with a kids steak meal was very good. Many beer choices with Buffalo Gold being the local favorite and many awards for other beers. I highly recommend this place to anyway that wants a great meal, good beer, and excellent customer service. The waitresses were the best I have ever had anywhere!.

One of the best pub food
Walnut has some of our favorite beers, but also they manage to have really good pub food. It is not fancy food - exactly how it is supposed to be in a pub, it is every kitchen staples but they are doing it right. Try their mashed potatoes or mac&cheese or salads... or actually any thing - we did not have a single bad serving here. This is our "go-to if in doubt" place in Boulder.

Typical brewpub fare. Attentive service, mediocre food. Restaurant's interior could use a freshen-up.
Whenever we visit our daughter at CU we always make it a point to go to the Walnut Brewery. The food is consistently good, especially the burgers and the mac and cheese.
Perfect family birthday
We celebrated my sisters birthday and it was just what we were looking for! Great apps, everyone loved their dinner and a phenomenal brownie sundae dessert! If we are back in Boulder well go back for sure!
Good bar food
We had a nice time here. The food was great for bar food. We didn't really have any complaints. The drinks were good as well. Quick service for how busy it was. We would eat there again.
Can always count on Walnut for great service and good food. They were celebrating 25 years while we were there, and the energy was up!
Waving goodbye to other local pubs and bars!
Our first visit (back) to the Walnut Brewery in quite some time and a very pleasant surprise too. Thought we would give it a try, after tiring of the other local breweries and pubs, and have to say the food was really very good indeed, the service friendly and helpful and the beers pretty good as well. The ambiance was fun and lively but not overly loud and the prices pretty good too. The more than slightly "officious" greeter girls were a little off putting, but all in all a most enjoyable evening. Think we're waving farewell to some of the other pubs in and around Pearly Street in the rear view mirror!!
I have been to the Brewery on many occasions and have always been pleased with the food. This dinner trip was not so good. The menu items have changed to what seems to be a little less healthy. Lots of burger options. I had chicken enchiladas and they were encased in a ton of cheese. Friend ordered rare burger and it came too done and husband ordered medium well and his was very pink. Very loud in there. Service however was excellent. They used to have really great meal salads, like seared tuna or southwest chicken. Don't think I'll go back for a while.
The nachos are gigantic. Everything was great. Service was excellent.

Great place to meet friends and family for a great meal with warm atmosphere. Every service person always had a smile.
Favorite place in Boulder
Okay, Boulder has some great restaurants but there is no better brew pub or neighborhood restaurant than Walnut Brewery...hands down. The beer is the best in Boulder and perhaps anywhere I've tried and the food is decent. They actually train their front of house staff and servers which is refreshing as so many establishments throw the staff on the front line and hope for the best. If you ask for a split plate, they actually bring you two plates and not just an extra fork and side plate. I love that WB caters to families but there are just as many tables full of age peers and folks just enjoying an evening out or a good lunch.
Last choice AT BEST
If you like sloppy, fatty frozen food that's been reheated, this is the place for you. Don't bother with the bison or beef burgers. They're frozen patties that are really rough and charred when reheated then freezing on the inside. The artichoke dip tasted spoiled. Really terrible customer service as well. College kids that havent had a single day of training. No refills, EVER on water. No picking up empty glasses. Blonde waitress dropped appetizer plates on table and made no eye contact with anyone at our table. Only made eye contact with her phone in the corner. Overpriced for an AWFUL eating experience. Oh yeah, tons of up charges.
It had been years since I went to the Walnut, but the food was poor and the service was slow. I will not be going back.
Great experience. Sunday during football season. Allowed us to watch the out if town games. Really good beer and enthusiastic waitstaff
Just like we remembered!!
Stopped by here before a CU Game. Chicken Nachos are to die for and Buffalo Gold is the best. Walnut Brewery is solid and always reliable!

Not very good. A lot of beer choices but the food was cold and the service indifferent. Made me wish we had gone to the Rio.
Good Family Dining
My family (me, husband, 2 kids under 10) enjoyed our recent dinner at Walnut Brewery. With my Open Table reservation, we were seated right away (7pm on a Friday). Our server was friendly, had some helpful recommendations, and ensured our order was taken promptly. I really enjoyed the beer flight and my Bourbonzola burger was fantastic. The pizzas were good too. There were several larger groups dining at the same time we were there (crowded due to Ironman triathlon weekend in Boulder), but service was what I would consider normal and I did not notice any delay in food arriving to not only our table, but others as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for families and to those looking for a variety of good, local brews.
The food was mediocre, at best, especially for the price. Several menu items we enjoyed before were not on the menu.
Good food, too noisy
The food and service was good and the staff friendly. We wanted to visit with friends and found this very difficult because the music, during the lunch hour, was much too noisy (even when we moved locations). would not go back again because of the noise (music).

Serviceable Gastropub cuisine, I like the nachos. Above average beers. 30+ visits, this is about as good as it gets. Also like Ft. Collins breweries and Lafayette's "The Post".
no longer good
We were not happy. They were playing really loud obnoxious music and the food was bad. My husband's food was so salty he good barely eat it. We used to really like this restaurant. We're not planning on going back. It was fairly empty on a Saturday night so most people must have already figured this out.
Very Good Salads
I have ordered the cobb salad here many times and always enjoy it. They also have a great selection of beers. Our server was good-natured and attentive. Will definitely return.
