Volterra Kirkland Ratings and Reviews
Volterra provided delicious and beautifully presented Tuscan inspired entrees, complemented by an extensive and innovative Italian and PNW wine menu. The overall experience was made the more enjoyable by such friendly and professional service from our waiter Steven. We will easily refer friends and family to this local Kirkland gem.

Had walked by Volterra a few times and my wife wanted to try it for her birthday. Very nice, good, attentive service, great food. A little loud, but "energetic".
Friday night dinner with friends
Volterra Kirkland is the sister restaurant of Volterra in Ballard. The food was very good and the service decent. The location right in downtown Kirkland is great. Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in the Seattle area. The only criticism I have is regarding the prices. With pasta dishes selling for $20 or more, and most entrees well in the $30 range, Volterra is definitely not your everyday restaurant. Even for authentic Italian fare, the prices are a bit too high in my opinion.
Tasty food in the heart of Kirkland
Delicious wild boar, mushroom polenta and tirimisu. We will be coming back here soon!
Long time coming
My wife and I have been trying to get to Volterra in Kirkland for over a year now, but things just kept popping up to prevent us from going. Finally this past April we made it. first off we had decided to just enjoy the food and order a number of varied apps and salads to get a good taste. we were not disappointed. we shared the beet salad and ordered a few apps. for my main course I chose the Chicken, I prefer to try the chicken in any new restaurant I visit. I was very happy with my choice. the chicken was incredible. my wife got the butternut Squash pasta. it also was amazing. really cant say enough about Volterra other than we will be returning again and again. !! very nice!!

Second time dining here. This has a "downtown" feel but for us is conveniently on the Eastside. The food is Italian, I would be happy with pretty much anything on the menu. The Prix Fix menu was a good value for $45. Wine list ranges from $45 to $200+ with good values on it. Desserts are yummy!!

Volterra of Kirkland is always exceptional with great food and service. We always have a great meal there and it is our "go to" restaurant in Kirkland.
Another Home Run!!
Volterra never disappoints, we took some friends that are new to the area and nocked there socks off. Volterra hit a home run on all angles, service, ambiance, and of coarse the food and drinks.
While I enjoy the food at Voltera I don't think I will dine there again. The tables are placed so together it is impossible not to hear discussions at the tables around one. Makes it very uncomfortable.
One of best meals I ever had! Very tasty food, good portions, great appetizers and drinks! Service could have been better, we had a not so attentive waitress, but the assistant to the waitress was awesome! Very friendly guy!
The entire staff at Volterra is lovely and attentive! When you receive a welcoming and good bye hug, when your server knows your name, when you always have "your table" waiting for you, when they ask how your family is, you know this restaurant has nailed it. Oh and the food? The best, most fresh, and well prepared. Thanks and cheers to everyone who works there!
First time to Volterra in Kirkland and loved it.
I went to Volterra last week for the first time and had requested a small private table for conversation. when they greeted us at the door they had a nice perfect table that they had been holding for us that was off to the side and very private. Food was Wonderful. Joe in the Bar took great care of us! Thanks,
great spot for date night
Nice neighborhood spot. Swanky enough for a special night out, but still casual enough for a weeknight dinner.
Nice atmosphere. I liked the size of the restaurant. It had a cozy feel. Staff was attentive. Food was good. Will be back!
A Gem of a place
Super Clean, "schwanky", well-run, impeccable service, excellent food and wine selection, full-bar with staff who actually know how to make a killer Manhattan. Thank you for running a tight ship. It shows. Overall a gem of a place.
Everything was great except our server
I brought my wife to the Kirkland Volterra for Valentines day. Having frequented the Ballard location, I had high hopes and expectations for my dining experience. Everything started great, my server seemed nice and attentive, considering the holiday. My first and second courses came out great. When I received my entree, which I asked for medium rare, I received a rare cut of meat. I was unable to get the attention of my server, so another gentlemen gladly took it to the kitchen to have it fixed. This is where things take a turn. My server brought my original plate back to my table to pick through it showing me that in her opinion the meat was cooked properly. She then took it to the chef, and within earshot of my wife and I, proceeded to tell the chef that he cooked the meat properly, and that I should have asked for my cut at a medium cook. I, like most people, don't like to send anything back, especially from an establishment where my experience has always been great. Everyone makes a mistake from time to time, even a great chef. I left feeling insulted, and spent $200 on dinner. I don't want to say anything bad about Volterra Kirkland, but I think if I ever go back, I'll go to Ballard.
Great Romantic Dinner
My wife and I dined here for their Valentine's day 4-course dinner. Everything we had was great, and my wife tried the wine parings and they were all good choices as well. We'll certainly be back.

Great food in downtown Kirkland
We joined friends at Volterra for a last minute Wednesday night dinner. Our server was awesome and the food was great. We were the last ones in the restaurant, but weren't hurried out the door. The crab ravioli was great, so was the pear crisp. This is becoming our go-to restaurant for great food and nice wines.

First time at this place. Very nice solid restaurant. I'll be back. :)
First time visiting Volterra and the food was great! Our group of 4 had the wild boar, pork jowels and crab ravioli. Great food and prices modest compared to fine quality. Only drawback was runny coconut creme brulee. Nice wine list.

On a very busy night with friends from out of town we had memorable food with excellent service . We are so lucky to have Volterra in our neighborhood!
Best Restaurant in Kirkland!!!
Came to Volterra to celebrate our 15th anniversary with my wife. We have in Kirkland for more than a decade and always complained about Kirkland not having a good place with delicious food (yes, I am not a big fan of Cactus, Hector's, Milagros, Heathman). So we were excited to go to Volterra, since we never have been there before. We couldn't have chosen better! The atmosphere, food, wine selection, service were outstanding! The price was also very reasonable. Our server, Paul, was great! I would definitely come back to Volterra!
We took Bay Area guests to Volterra in Kirkland on a Saturday evening, and had a wonderful dinner. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the ambience fit the evening perfectly. It was a memorable evening.

We dined on New Year's Eve, which was a prix fixe menu and wine pairings. For 1st course we chose the butter lettuce salad with truffle dressing which was OK (alternate choice was a wild boar meatball); 2nd course was lamb ravioli which was very good (alternate was gnocchi); for 3rd course I chose the wild boar tenderloin which was excellent and hubby had the venison steak, which was not good (sweet, tough); 4th course dessert we both chose the hazelnut cake with orange chocolate glaze which was good (alternate was a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream). The intermezzo vodka cocktail for two was very good & festive with a digestible confetti. The wine pairings were all very good selections. The total bill, which included 20% gratuity & tax came to ~$300 - not unreasonable for NYE, but seriously not a good value for this meal. I expect better food and service when spending $150 per person, but the holiday tax is not atypical.

The food was so delicious. We loved the wine! We were concerned about our server. He was rushing us through our courses - it was New Year's Eve and they had a lot of tables to fill but we felt uncomfortablewith our server.
New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve Price Fixe was great enjoyed with friends! Thanks
Well be already loved the salads and the muscles, and this time tried the pasta with shrimp and egg plant pouches and both were delicious! If you can't have too much spice they are happy to make it in a manner that you will like as they make all the sauces from scratch as you order. Always great service, great bread, great food and just a terrific neighborhood gem. Hoping they open one in Edmonds one day!
My Favorite Restaurant
Great food and cocktails plus extensive wine list It is by far my favorite restaurant
Excellent in every way
A top notch combination of great food and superb service. We started with the polenta with mushrooms which was hot, creamy and infused with a rich earthy mushroom sauce. We've really never had anything like it and is a great way to start the meal. Dinner was a lamb ragu for my wife and the risotto for myself which were both excellent. Served very hot, they were full of interesting flavors and are dishes we would order again. Wine list is good with some nice choices available by the glass. A special note on the service from Steven, who is a total professional in every way. We were welcomed warmly, felt that we were really his only customers of the night, and taken care of superbly. Ask to be seated in his section, you won't be disappointed. We really can't say enough good things about Volterra in Kirkland and will continue to go back whenever we have a special occasion or just want a nice night out.

Great Dinner Spot
The flavor and preparation of the food here is exceptional, however, my friends and I noticed that over time, the portions here have become smaller and smaller. Considering the price points, I would definitely like to have some more food on my plate.
