Victoria Gastro Pub Ratings and Reviews
Great place to wine and dine
Victoria gastro pub is a fun place to be. Food is really good and great for a bar scene and family oriented as well. We go at least once a month.

I'm so so very disappointed. I typicality love this place and take many out of town guests here. I brought 2 out of Townes tonight and couldn't have been more disappointed. I asked for medium rare burger. I received well done. Our server never came back to check on us so I couldn't send it back. I'm so upset. I've been looking forward to this for weeks and I have to say I wouldn't ever order the burger again
Phenomenal food and superb attention to detail!
The food was really outstanding (I had the Blueberry/Blackberry French Toast) and the service was impeccable (although a bit slow although, in fairness, that was probably due to the kitchen triple checking about serious food allergies that some in our party of 7 had). The portions are not especially large but adequate if you're not overly hungry and as I said, the food was really superb. Eclectic menu but what else would you expect from a 'Gastro Pub'? This was our first visit to the restaurant despite living in the area for nearly 5 years now. I can assure you that it won't be 5 years before we are back again (probably closer to 5 days!).
We had a FANTASTIC server. I would go back just for her.
Great spot. A standard go-to restaurant for good food. Always busy, because its good, so make a reservation or get there early.
Girlfriend's Brunch - Great Food, Great Value!
My girlfriend and I met up for Sunday brunch. Glad we got there at 11am, because by the time we left, the place had filled up. She had an omelette with a biscuit; I had the English Breakfast. We each had a mimosa. Service was attentive and cordial, and the bill came and I had to double check that they hadn't accidentally left something off! Very reasonable. This was my second time there, and I'll definitely go back.
Great Suburban Eats
Being a resident of DC, you get used to the many food offerings around. However, whenever I make my way out to the Maryland 'burbs, this is my go to spot. I've only been for brunch and lunch, but I imagine dinner will be worth the trek as well. The music is also good.
Sunday Brunch was delicious!
We went for Easter Brunch, and the food was delicious. My daughter had the Banana French Toast, I had a Lobster grilled cheese with duck fat fries, and my husband had a burger. Everything was amazing! The only problem was a couple with two small children in the same room as us, and all four of them were super loud. The children were loud (they were just being kids) but the parents trying to control them were shouting as well. Our eight-year-old doesn't make a peep but she's not old enough for us to go in the adults only room. Still, the food was good and I love the ambiance.
I came in for Easter brunch with my family and everything was perfect. I had the lobster grilled cheese, which is always delicious. Everyone else got eggs;my mom got the Rosti, my dad and my wife got the mushroom and eggs. We were all very happy with our meals. Chris was our server, and he took very good care of us. Thank you for making our holiday so special.
Our 'Go-To' Neighborhood Spot
in addition to their impressive wine list and craft beer selection, the service is consistently stellar.
Wonderful Easter Brunch
Terrific Easter brunch! Victoria Gastro Pub is one of our favorites in Howard County. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. You can never go wrong with Victoria.
special kind of pub
food was very good; service was good; beer list was amazing as was the wine list; surrounding the pub is nothing great--reminded me of the atmosphere of a cracker barrel outside--but inside welcome to a vibrant, great place. my only wish is that I lived closer because it's the kind of place that I would go to weekly.
It was a limited brunch menu for Easter, but we enjoyed what we ordered. Eggs benedict was the best. We were seated indoors and enjoyed that the rooms are divided (a little quieter). The decor is charming.
Get the duck fat fries and lobster grilled cheese!
The food was delicious and service was great! Will definitely come back!
I was disappointed in my entree, which was the steak salad. Rather costly at $22 not much to it. One of my pet peeves is when they the big stems of the lettuce. The pecan cheesecake was delicious.
Saturday Birthday Dinner
The service was outstanding!! The menu is diverse, yet unique. The stuffed mushrooms were out of this world! Would go back again. Sorry we can't remember the name of our server.
Fish and chips was extremely greasy. Don't know how you could mess-up a simple meal. Corn beef was terrible, sitting onto of wet cabbage. Worst I ever had and believe me I have eaten corn beef for over 50 years. The corn muffin were very good. I don't recommend eating here. Bar scene was fun with good selections of beer, wine and alcohol. Fun place to have a drink or two. Just don't eat there.

Server Ellis was great. Fried chicken appetizers also good. Lobster grilled cheese was ok, but not as amazing as I hoped - was more like lobster pimiento cheese on bread. I was hoping for gooey melted cheese... Had a great dessert! We went for lunch and it wasn't crowded and we were given lots of time to talk and hang out. It was nice!

Good food and a nice neighborhood spot. Really enjoyed the Prime Rib with Jus and would recommend the paprika fries! We'll be back.
True "gastro" pub with excellent food!
Charming place. In a busy area; nice inside, "homey", appealing.
Great beers, wines, and interesting menu
We go here often for special and any occasions. Great menu and excellent prep. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.
Victoria's Has Been A Go-To for Me Since Opening
Why I like Victoria Gastro: Ever since this restaurant opened I've been going there to eat. Victoria herself makes me feel welcome. The wait staff is all well-trained, courteous and knowledgeable. The menu has unique dishes not found elsewhere in the Columbia area. And they have brunch on a Saturday. I never have figured out why more places don't have a Saturday brunch! Also, Victoria Gastro has a quirky decor that makes me feel comfortable. I can eat lunch by myself and not be self-conscious. It offers many special events for its customers. Best of All--Victoria's is not part of a chain. My husband, friends and I love to support locally-owned restaurants. The only downside is parking--it can be very difficult to get a nearby place in recent years. But it's more than worth the walk if needed!

Justin was very efficient. Pick up sticks worth having again. Burger was everything everyone said it was and then some...awesome brunch. Oh yeah, lobster grilled cheese was excellent too!
nice saturday brunch
Met family from Annapolis for brunch on Saturday. It was a good half-way meeting place for us. Service and atmosphere was excellent. We were able to easily hold a conversation while eating. The food in general was very good. We shared a large duck-fat poutine to start and since it was so rich, it was just the right size for 5 people. The mascarpone-stuffed french toast and the banana french toast were both excellent. The angus burger was also enjoyable, especially the homemade pickles which exploded with flavor. The english breakfast was good, the highlight being the Guiness stout baked beans. The one disappointing entree was my order - the sweet potato and anduoille hash. The potatoes were undercooked and the sausage was very mild. It definitely was not what I would call hash - the food was cut into over-large chunks and nothing was crispy or caramelized. We did not take advantage of the massive beer selection since we were eating at 11am and had errands to run after brunch.
Too Crowded and Noisy on This Night
This. was not my first visit, but it was the busiest and the noisiest I've ever experienced. The food was good, and the service not bad for such a night. I will return, but not on a Friday night.

Excellent food and wine selection. Been there 3 times while in town on business. The bar service is not very attentive and they are always busy. May need to add some more bar staff. However because the food was so good I came back even if the service is not very attentive

Went here for Valentine's Day this year and two years ago. This year, we both had the Duo of Beef, and the meat was so succulent it was insane. Coupled with a wonderful Chianti, was truly an awesome experience.

I really loved the beer selection and the food was fantastic- except they say us outside in a covered porch and it was about 20 degrees outside. It would have been ok if we weren't directly against the partition, so our legs and feet were freezing but our heads were roastkng from the heaters above. Our biggest issue was our server- who was over loved with tables. We sat with empty drinks for at least 15 minutes and thankfully someone who I think was a bartwnder came out and got us new drinks, my plate sat in front of me for 30 minutes once I was done. Took 10 minutes to get our check- thankfully someone else ran it for us. One couple next to us waited almost 20 minutes trying to get their order in. Will maybe head back and see what a non-holiday crowd and service is like.

We have been here twice, once on a random weekend and once on Feb 13. Both times the food was great. The beer selection is better than any i have encountered. The owners also run a microbrewery bit don't push that on you, they have an amazing selection of others as well. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Columbia.

Difficult parking Had to park in the Hilton and walk over 100 yards Extremely noisy. Got seated immediately. Seated at a bench which was too soft, too low and not good for someone with lower back issues. Limited food menu...extensive beverage list although they were out of the wine we wanted. By the time that had decided they were out of the wine we wanted we were halfway through our entree. The service was actually good and they offered to comp our entrees because of the inconvenience. The Cobb salad was very good as was the crab cake. Overall decent but not outstanding
Always Crowded, and Good
Been going here for at least 7 or 8 years. Just keeps rolling along. Would not mind seeing a little updating of the dining rooms. Focus has always seemed to be on bar, but for good (revenue) reason. Will always have VGP in my list.

Excellent Burger. Crawfish App very good as well. Would definitely go back.
great place for a beer
Never been, heard great things. Amazing beer list. Dinner entrees very limited. Terrific fries and ok burger. Service was tremendous and for that I would try again. If you want bar food and a bar scene, this is a good spot. If you want broader menu options and more of a dinner feel, there re probably other spots.
always solid - but could use a refresh of the menu
a somewhat limited menu that could use a bit of a refresh but food is consistent and half price wine night is always a plus. I seem to remember some minor tweaking of the menu a while back but has generally been the same since they opened. Had the arctic Char on special last visit and it was fine, but just got back from another restaurant and it sunk in that Victoria might be getting a bit stale. Still they do a pretty good job overall.

Aleays get my favorite, the warm spinach salad with soft boiled egg, duck, and pretzels but tried the cob salad instead. Equally delicious! Service very good considering bar high tops manned by bartender. All good as always!

Placed was PACKED! A great sign of a great place to eat and socialize! Bar area was standing room only, possibly because it was happy hour and 1/2 price martini Tuesdays! Ordered a Chipotle Martini that also had mango vodka, hanger one infused pepper vodka and lime juice. Excellent with some heat! Both orderd the mussels which are fantastic and a meal in itself. I love the warm spinach salad with soft boiled egg and pretzels! Yum! Always great to eat while in Columbia!

We had the steak salad. It was wonderful. Steak was flavorful, tender and grilled to order. The beer list is very long and they have some wonderful cocktails.
Overpriced and small portions
Went for Sunday brunch. Drinks took forever and were weak. Portions were small. Screaming babies on each side of us....terrible experience. Never again.
Great for groups up to 14 people.
I celebrated my birthday dinner here at VGP. The ambiance was great! Love all the little rooms and nooks. Pros: I had a party of 14... the waiter was GREAT! Very attentive. We were able to have separate checks without issue. The wine and beer list is MASSIVE. Lots of great wines to choose from. The manager presented me with a $10 gift card as a birthday gift. THE POUTINE! Cons: None! I am very pleased, overall, with our dining experience.
