Uva Trattoria - Napa Ratings and Reviews
Of all the places to pick, I picked this one for my husband and I while we were in Napa. Our waitress was wonderful and the place is okay but I was shocked at how bad my dinner was. We had risotto balls for appetizer and those were good. My husband had a pasta with red sauce and I thought the sauce was very good. I had Gnocchi with short ribs and it didn't have ANY flavor at all. It was watery and uneatable. I was so disappointed. Even though husbands pasta and risotto balls were good I just would never recommend. If they can serve what I had, then I don't really have confidence in all the other menu items. Big bummer!
What a find!! Excellent restaurant!
The food, service, wine and ambience created an outstanding dining experience. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo and the VegetableLasagna with a local Napa wine. Even the bread with the roasted garlic began this wonderful meal.
Dinner and Dancing!
Wonderful food, service, ambiance and nice location. .. Loved the live band Thres Solis and we were allowed to dance salsa, Cha Cha and tango as long as we We're aware of servers and customers. I loved the grill artichoke.
Service was friendly and attentive from entry to exit. Our meal was great, only downside was the chicken in the fettuccine Alfredo was a bit on the dry side. We are from out of town but will make it a point to have lunch/dinner here every year we come!.

Always a great spot to bring guests and guarantee a good time. Wine list is great, and they have a reasonable corkage fee as well. Butternut squash sage sauce, squid ink pasta were memorable.
I didn't really expect much but I had a really great time. Music was AMAZING!
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and the food was delicious! The service was great as well

Of all the great places to eat in the Napa Valley why go here? Food isn't great. I had a salad with Burrata and it was an unattractive blob of mediocre Burrata on a bed of similar colored lettuce out of a bag. The pizza was not great and the lighting a bit bright in the room without the blasting live band. Next time I'm insisting on Don Giovanni
My food sensitivities did not get the "No, we are sorry" as usual, but, "Let's see how we can make this work for you"! Fabulous choices, patient staff, and gourmet presentations all around. We made reservations and got to the blues concert on time. Wonderful experience.
Great food, my only complaint is that our waiter didn't get our appetizer to us. Not sure if he forgot to put the order in or not, but our salad and main course showed up at the same time (personal pet peeve of mine). I want to enjoy my salad then entree separately. And we were totally looking forward to the appetizer. But we will return because the food was very good. We shared a few different pastas so we could try them all and so glad we did, each one was great!

Live music was great, staff was very attentive and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and the food was great.
Last minute decision was good
Needed a last minute reservation for an early Saturday night dinner. Food was good, served very promptly until dessert which took a while. The dining area where we were seated was part of the bar and quite loud. Lots or parties of 6 or more. If we go back I will ask to sit on the other side which looked more spread out and less noisy.
When visiting Napa, my husband and I always make a point to have dinner at Uva's. The first time we stopped in we really enjoyed the music and food setting. The ambiance made it memorable for the special occasion we were celebrating. Thank you.
Best Italian Food in Napa
A long time family favorite of ours, we found as often as we can. Friendly servers, great food, what else can you ask for?!
Pre-Valentine's Day Dinner
Obviously, this was a great choice because the restaurant was packed. They even had a private party their before the restaurant even opened! We had the gnocci (sp?) and short ribs. All I can say is..."YUM." The shrimp, calamari and veggie appetizer was fantastic! We'll be back...soon! Sandy

Excellent Italian Eatery
Excellent Italian food, very good wine list and good prices, especially for the area. Live music most nights, a good bar scene and always friendly staff. Highly recommended!

The most delicious apple/raisin salad with Burrata, arancini, garlic bread & tiramisu! Service was just ok and the lighting was ridiculous, they kept making it darker & darker to the point we couldn't read the menu.

We popped in for dinner after spending the day in Napa tasting wine and having seen this restaurant online. Although we heard good things about the ambience, we were wholly unimpressed by the food. Both pasta dishes ordered were lacking in any flavor, and mine was not really warm, which wasn't good considering it was in a brown butter sage sauce. The best part of the meal was the garlic bread, which was lumped with parmesan cheese. Not sure I'd recommend it at all.
A very nice dinner
My wife and son and I went to Uva Trattoria before attending a concert in Napa. We were seated after and next to a table of nine so I think part of the wait for service was due to the fact that the group of nine took more time to order, it took time for the orders to be placed, and they placed their dessert order just before we did. Nonetheless, the server was attentive, almost "psychic" (asked if my son wanted mushrooms - he'd been talking to us about the possibility of leaving them off and brought a spoon to my wife just after she'd mentioned to me that she'd like one for her pasta) and even ran our dessert to us (unnecessarily, but kind) in order for us to make it to the show on time. All the food was well-prepared and to our liking (the flourless chocolate torte with caramel gelato was outstanding) and it was a great start to what remained a fantastic evening.
Was hoping for a new find when in Napa but the food fell short. We had the Calamari appetizer which sounded great but was overcooked and the Calamari was tough. I had the Cesear salad which I love they asked if you wanted Anchovies, and I always do, but the dressing was a bit bland and the Romaine was almost all hard stalks. The croutons were like dressing cubes, not what you would expect. My husband had the Ravioli in Lemon Cream Sauce. His ravioli barely had any filling and was not al dente but undercooked and hard around the edges. The Cream sauce was amazing. They bring bread to the table if you ask along with some very poor quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The staff was great, very friendly, and checked in with us just the right amount of times. We ordered a glass of wine and saw others receiving an ample pour however when we were served it was less than it should have been but I have to admit it was the norm of what we were seeing coming out of the bar. I liked the staff and the fact that they had a small room without too much noise so I would give it another chance but without the expectations I read in some reviews.
Yelp Wine offer not as it appeared
Eaten here several times when I come to Napa. Food is good, we like the live music, and this time it was the most crowded we have seen, which was nice, people enjoyed the music. Had an issue with the couple next to us, one of them ended up leaving before dinner was served due to issues with something we were not aware. Later in evening manager came to check in with us about it but all was fine for us. It was nice of him to be concerned if it had affected our experience. My tow issues were we had to repeatedly ask for bread. Seconf, there is a Yelp offer for a glass of house wine when you check in. This time we were told you can only use it for one person in the whole party (2 of the 3 of us had checked in and wanted to have the wine) and the waitress told us only one person. There was nothing written on the offer in Yelp that it was only for one person. Thought that was bad considering it is minimal cost for them and good customer service. SHould write on it that it can be only used for one person in the whole party.
I realize it's not the busy season in Napa but as locals, we do like to sit and enjoy our meal and enjoy our appetizers and enjoy a bottle of wine. we felt so rushed that we corked our wine and took it home.
Combining live jazz with dinner in Napa, both good
Many places that have good live music, might not have the best food, but Uva Tratorria is better than most on both the music and the food. Their Gnocchi is house made, and wow, it shows. Fantastic. The bread pudding desert is legitimate, i.e. was done right. Wine list is on par for a full scale Napa restaurant (e.g. over a hundred to choose from). When other places in town that tout live music had taken the night off (Silo's had nothing on a Friday and Saturday night, Jan 2nd and 3rd 2016, how lame is that!?!?) Uva came through for us.
Always a favorite
Uvas never disappoints. The Italian food comes in generous servings and tastes fresh and delicious. Friendly servers and warm atmosphere.
Love the music.
The one thing that has kept us away was when they changed the bread pudding from banana bread pudding to the bland vanilla pudding. I always looked forward to having that at the end of the meal and told everyone else about it.
Missed the live music
I was hoping to take my out of town guests to enjoy some good food and live music for New Year's Eve but the band did not start until 830 pm. It would have been nice to have dinner and listen in to some good live jazz.

Sadly we did not enjoy anything we had and these were all specials recommended by the kitchen. When we returned the pork chop our server confirmed that it did in fact not taste right. My salmon pasta was made with packaged cured salmon. We felt that nothing was homemade and came out of cans and jars. This is an italian place, most of this should be made at this location. Drinks were good.
Uva Trattoria - Lovely Evening
Family dinner to celebrate birthdays was graciously handled by servers. Food was very tasty. Try the Blue Cheese Fries! Live music on bar side of restaurant makes conversation a challenge so we asked to be seated on the quieter left side. Music sound level was perfect at this distance. We enjoyed a lovely evening.
Enjoyable Dining Experience
We had not been to Uva in a long time (probably about 4 or 5 years) and decided to go back after receiving a gift certificate. We made a dinner reservation (always recommend when dinging in Napa) for 6:00pm but ended up arriving at 5:15pm because we were too hungry to wait. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server soon after. For appetizers we ordered the risotto balls, 3 come on the plate which was a little disappointing, and calamari, which was delicious. A beet salad which was very green heavy (not my taste but still good), and pastas for main dishes which were fine. Overall.... Food: Good Service: Great Cost: SUPER reasonable for the level of food and service We will go back sooner rather than later next time.
A long time favorite of the Leonardo family. Good food, good service and good misic. What more can you ask for?
Food AND music
We came in on a fairly quiet Sunday evening, expecting to hear live music. They didn't show up, but we had a delicious meal of Caesar salad and pizza. This venue presents a nice variety of jazz, original and contemporary music 5 nights a week. The bar area is busy most week-ends. In the Napa/Sonoma areas, it is rare to have a combination of good music and good food, try it!
The folks at Uva treat guests like family. I frequent there for lunch and staff does a great job on remembering the things I like. They also challenge me to try new things, which are always delightful. Going to dinner there is always great, as there is a robust crowd and music for an exciting atmosphere, this along with great appetizers and entrees makes it a place to hunker down for the evening with another or a big group.
Our server may have been new. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt this time. Other servers remembered us and made us feel welcomed. One of the many reasons we keep coming back.
