Trader Vic's Ratings and Reviews
Great drinks and atmosphere
We went for the Atlanta Trader Vic's 40th anniversary celebration and had a great time. The Mai Tais were great as usual and the live band was a lot of fun. The service was a bit disjointed tonight and it took a lot longer than usual amount of time to get our food. Go to drink and watch bananas being flambeed though!
Great live entertainment!
Trader Vic's is a great Thursday night spot particularly due to the live band and the Mai Tai's. The biggest problem is the service because it doesn't appear they are staffed well enough to handle the huge crowd. It's also disappointing that the best view of the band is near the bar area; however, the food menu is limited in that space. :-(
First time at Trader Vic's Atlanta
Came from out of town for the Atlanta Trader Vic's 40th anniversary night and had a great time.....entire staff from the hosts to the bartenders to the servers were great....dinner was amazing. Don't pass up the menehune juice at the bar or the bananas foster for desert prepared table side.

We had wonderful service and Mai Tais in great family atmosphere! I would always go back for the fun while visiting. Easy access from Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt!!

The service, food, drinks ($6 Mai Tai ), and everything else was awesome. This is was my first time there and I was truly satisfied.
The food was terrible. Overcooked, tasted odd. We had the kung pao chicken - it had no heat and was sickeningly sweet.
Trader Vic's get your Tiki Freaky
Felt like Don Ho would appear at Any moment & break into "Tiny Bubbles"
I always chose Trader Vic's for the mai-tai. They do not disappoint.

Far exceeded our expectations! A real trip to another era, worth the journey and then some. The food was delicious and the drinks, oh the drinks were beyond phenomenal. We only had the time to try four, but each was a magical oasis of refreshment. Staff was so helpful and friendly, and the music that played was excellent -- I ended up using the Shazam app several times to see what a particular song was, and we listened to them on our way home to keep the vibe going. We will certainly return!
Awesome place. A true gem.
Trader Vic's Atlanta was truly a tiki marvel. Not many like this left. The decor was amazing, the food & service great, and the best Mai Tai any where around hands down. Highly recommend.

I thought the food was extremely over priced for the quality and quantity that was received. Also, terrible gluten free choices because everything is already pre made, mainly with soy sauce, so they cannot substitute gluten free items/sauces
Probably better for a drink or on no band night
The seating was either up on someone else, directly in front of band or in the back away from all that was going on and it felt like you weren't in same place. Everytime I called I got someone nice and I appreciated that. The person sat us was nice, but we had to move tables several times. I got the wrong appetizer given to us, but they did get correct one and didn't charge me for the other. The food was meh. My biggest issue was the seating and it seemed in the beginning we had been forgotten.
A great find

Long wait as hostess was not on post, they left out part of the menus and it was mediocre food. The Mai Tai was amazing.
Cheing Phour is my favorite chef.
The food and services is exceptional. You can tell Trader Vic's is managed very well.
Fun for Dinner & Drinks
Trader Vic's never fails to make dinner tasty and the evening fun! We each started with a Mai Tai. For an entree we shared a Surf & Turf; veggie sides come with it. The beef filet was pink all the way through without being too rare. The lobster tail was tender and delicious; it came with seasoned drawn butter that I found excellent. Our server was experienced, soft spoken, and courteous. His hand tremors did not keep him from giving us excellent service. He even prepared our Bananas Foster dessert table side , even including the flame-off of the alcoholic sauce! In all, an excellent Valentine's Day event!
Good food, great cocktails
Extensive tropical cocktail menu. Had their "original" Mai Thai, which was not too sweet and very good. The mainstream menu items are well seasoned and tasty as well as reasonably priced. But if you opt for the wood fire grill, items are a bit pricey, though the crusty chargrilled flavor is unique and delicious. A good experience.
It's not just for VALENTINE'S DAY..
I only have 3 words to express our experience at Trader Vic's AWESOME! AWESOME! and AWESOME!
There were a group of 10 of us that dined on Saturday before a show. Our server was phenomenal! He was helpful & attentive. We had apps, drinks and out meal all in a timely manner. The drinks were exotic & good and not just cute. I am still dreaming of my Rack of Lamb it was delicious!!! I would recommend this spot to anyone. the next time I am in town I will make it a point to get there. The only complaint I would have is it was very cool/drafty in the back room where we were seated so I had to eat with my coat on.
A little expensive, but delicious beverages, very tasty food, excelent service. I really recommended the restaurant.
The service saw slow the food was even slower coming and it was not delivered at the same time It was 10 minutes between the time the first meal arrived and the last It was a busy night but to take over 2 hours the from the time we order until the meals arrived is poor service I will never go there again
First time to Trader Vic's Won't be the last.
Me and my wife had a great time at Trader Vic's great atmosphere and great service.
Well ... where do I begin
On a positive note, the drinks were good. After that it all fell apart. Nice server, but Tim Conway from Carol Burnett comes to mind. We were forgotten for about half an hour and had to ask someone to come see us. Ordered a group platter for $19.50, came on a cake plate, and had 2 pcs of about 4 items, Sysco food truck came to mind with each item. Fried rice was not fried rice, and the rest of the dinner would have been disappointing if I paid $5 for them from a Checkers Drive inn. The fact that each entrée was between $25 and $35 is shocking. How this place stays in business is unbelievable. Was always excited to experience Trader Vic's, this was not the experience I was expecting. Was not expecting a fine dining experience, even though the prices would suggest otherwise. There was nothing about this restaurant I could in good faith recommend.

Great Entrees...Skip the Apps!
The appetizers were fried and the sauces that accompanied them weren't very good. The entrees were awesome and the maitai's were amazing!!
Great food, don't sit by the windows
We had an amazing, as expected, meal at Trader Vic's in Jan. Everything was as advertised: good food, amazing drinks, great atmosphere... but don't sit by the windows in winter. The cold air that comes off of them is frigid and there is little to be done as the restaurant is almost always packed with reservations made weeks in advance. Have a mai tai or four to stay warm... it's worth it of you need an excuse to have the best mai tai ever!
We were with a group of 12 people. Our table was ready when we arrived, but the service was very slow. Drink service was also slow. Food presentation and flavor were mediocre. We would not choose to return.
Walk through the past
We wanted to visit Trader Vic's because it is a a sort of throwback restaurant. The atmosphere was pretty and interesting. Our waiter was friendly and did a good job. The hostess who seated us was not up to the job. She did not look at us as she led us to our seats and never smiled. The food was average. The mixed drinks were awesome. All in all we had a good time and are glad we made made the trip.
A great experience!
It was a slow Tuesday night, but the service and food were excellent. The filet from the Chinese oven was perfect.
A moment in time
The Atlanta Trader Vic's is one of the last remaining from its haydays of the 60s. Perfectly preserved, the restaurant is like a moment in time. Rightfully reknown for its tiki drinks, the food was surprisingly top notch. Great decor, good food, fantastic drinks; what more do you need?
Living 200 miles outside Atlanta, I have gone to TV every 3-4 years for 30 years. Always happy with the drinks, food and service. Sadly, this was my last visit. I know the place is kitsch, but I've enjoyed it. The food is now less than mediocre. Egg rolls mushy and without enough filling. Wok fried seafood with vegetables should have been called fish stew. Very salty, limp, something not even Red Lobster would put out. Told the server we needed another minute to decide, she gave us 15. Place was nearly empty, they put us next to a table of eight. Way too many good places in Atlanta to spend another dollar here.
Old school but awesome
Thus place is dated but that's part of its charm. Think tiki bar in the 50's. The food is AMAZING and the drinks are delicious. You feel like you're on a beach vacation even though you're in downtown Atlanta.
Can't handle crowds
We arrived early for our 10pm reservation. They were at least 1 hour behind, we chose to stay and have some drinks while we waited. It's New Years Eve, after all, we were looking forward to the drinks anyhow. This was our 1st clue that they were under prepared. I walked to the bar and got our 1st round, opened a tab by leaving my credit card there, not knowing that I would not see it again for several hours. It took 1 hour in line with my elbows on the bar to get our next round of drinks and could not cash out. They were over whelmed. No order to their madness at all. Meanwhile we get our table for dinner, over an hour late. We get our food, everything except desert taste the same. So we are still eating when 12am rolls around after only 2 rounds of drinks and not so good food. What a way to start the new year off. It takes another hour to finally get my credit card from the bar and pay my $157.00 meal. Not the New Years I was expecting.

December Dinner Getaway
We have always gone to Trader Vic's as one of our go to places for special dinners, this was our 1 Year Anniversary Dinner. Food was great as always, was a little disappointed that they were out of the Cha Sui Pork Appetizer this is my favorite and was the first time I was ever told they were out. They were extremely busy with Holiday Parties and the Hotel that Trader Vics is in was the host hotel for the local Bowl Game Football Teams so I guess I can understand a rush on food but still disappointed. Drinks are great and food is great, we will go back.

ROMANTIC POLYNESIAN DINNER
My wife and I generally always go to Trader Vic's restaurant for our anniversary, because of our connection with Hawaii and Polynesian food. And Mai Tais. We have been visiting here for probably 15 years. This trip was great as usual.
I was pretty disappointed
I was disappointed in the selection and the overall taste of the food. I heard about Trader Vic's many years ago and kept meaning to go. I finally had the opportunity, and well, its possible my expectations were set too high. I ordered the steak which I found tasteless and dry compared to notable steakhouses in the Atlanta area. My date ordered the Mahi Mahi which he also didn't particularly care for. Overall our experience left much to be desired. I don't expect to ever return.
The food was fantastic and I felt like I was going to see the Brat Pack come around the corner at any moment. Who knew a No Tai Mai Tai (virgin) would be so fun to drink!
Lame food, too expensive
Alas, Trader Vic's isn't worth it. Much too expensive and I've had better food at Red Lobster. However, the Mai Tais are indeed great.
