The Salt Creek Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Not the best I have had....
This food is good for the price, but there are much better restaurants in the area. Desserts had little taste. Like they had just been thawed after a long time in the freezer.

Food was awesome and the service was great! We had a nice dinner.
The steaks were perfectly prepared.
I had the oscar option and was not disappointed. My only negative remark is that we were charged for extra bearnaise sauce. For the prices of the steaks and options an extra bit of sauce should not have cost us more. The restaurant is small and had a tendency to get rather loud, but my family didn't mind. Several children were in the restaurant but all were entertained and only 1 child was screaming when we seated, but he too was quickly redirected and we had a very pleasant evening.

Had a rib eye steak. Was cooked to perfection. A baked potato was lukewarm and was immediately remedied. It's an old West themed steak house. Solid food, great attentive service. If you want a food steak this is your place.

Very casual, but high end steakhouse fare. My party of four, which included a 12, 11, and 9 years old, had three filets and elk tenderloin and all plates were completely empty when done. The filets were listed as 8oz but seemed more like 10s. Peppercorn disc is great, so ask for a side dish even if it doesn't come with the entree. My boys insisted that I write a review stating salt creek steakhouse is AWESOME.
Nice Ambiance and Friendly Atmosphere & Good Food
We enjoyed our dinner at Salt Creek Steakhouse. As noted above; the ambiance, atmosphere and food was perfect. Good value.

only complaint was it was extremely loud, our group of 7 could only hear the person directly next to them, or if leaning in, the person across the table.
This place is known for their meat. I, however, ordered vegetarian and was very disappointed. The menu describes it as Butternut squash, kale, and grilled tofu. What showed up was maybe 2 teeny slivers of squash, a miniscule amount of kale and an entire block of cubed white, NOT grilled tofu. Flavoring was good but disappointing.
Outstanding Dinner - Our Best In Breck this Season
We weren't impressed with the dining scene in Breck until we got to the Salt Creek Steakhouse. This was by far our best meal in town last week. The Elk came highly recommended thus we had it - It was outstanding; tender, melt in your mouth, cooked to perfect and full of flavor. We shared the mesclun greens salad with cranberries and goat cheese - it was huge (definitely plenty to share) and also outstanding. Our one downside of the evening was that we selected a bottle of wine from the list but a different (younger) vintage was served. We were given a discount on the bottle, but it is a pet peeve of mine that happens more often than it should. Overall, Salt Creek Steakhouse was outstanding - we will return on our next trip to Breck!

Delicious prime rib! Nice wine selection too.
Warm atmosphere, great service
Perfect ski town steakhouse atmosphere just off of main street. All of our tables dishes were executed well ranging from seafood to steaks to barbecue. Service was professional and welcoming with complete knowledge of the menu. Our server deftly handled "that guy" at our table with the heightened sense of cocktail induced charm.
Good steakhouse aprés ski
Coming from Chicago with the guys, we thought they had a good selection of steaks for a nice night out on the town after a day on the mountain. They smoke and age their meats in house. Nice selection of wines available too.
Best restaurant in Breckenridge
We always eat at Salt Creek when we come to Breckenridge! Our server last time was Rachel C, and she was incredible! She helped us out when ordering specialty hot drinks and she was very attentive. Our food was incredible. We love the BBQ, and we tried the delicious steak this time too! This BBQ is some of the best I've ever had.
Very good food and excellent service. My only issue was that I ordered my filet to be cooked medium and it was cooked medium well. But this is the first time this has happened in the many times we have visited this fine restaurant.
Breck Ski Trip Anniversary Dinner
Salt Creek was great! We coincided our ski vacation with a late anniversary dinner, and it was perfect. Even with a ski injury, we had a great time :-) Nice, relaxed atmosphere, which suited us perfectly. We'll definitely go back on our next trip to Breck.
My friends and I wanted steak during our snowboarding weekend and our search led us to the Salt Creek Steakhouse. We could not have been happier with the trip. Everything we ate was incredible. The filet that I ordered was the best and most tender steak I have ever eaten. We will definitely be going back during our next trip to Breckenridge.
We've been to Salt Creek on several occassions. The last couple of times have been somewhat dissappointing. The food is slipping in quality and the prices are ridiculous for the portion size. This past visit was soooo loud. there were 3 tables of 8 and a table of 20+ crammed into the space. It really was a hazard to be in the restaurant as the only way out was barely passable for a single person. Glad there wasn't a fire that night. Service was rushed and unfriendly. Yes, it's ski season. But with a $150 bill for 3 adults and a child, I expect a better interaction. I'm moving them off my fall back list.
Food OK. Service marginal.
Enjoyed the food, but service was sketchy...even with dining room never more than half full. OK, but nothing special.

We went on Valentine's, so even though we had a reservation we had more than a 30 min wait for seats. Once we got our table, everything came out quickly. I had the petite filet. It was slightly charred on the outside to my liking but still tender. The best part was the white chocolate crème brulee for dessert.

Such a great experience. From the hostess to the bus boy to the wait staff, everyone was very attentive and helpful. And the food was amazing. Everything that my party ate was perfectly cooked and delicious. I highly recommend it
Great after a day of skiing
The steaks are all good, especially their aged bone in strip. The sides are also very good. A good family restaurant after a long day of skiing.

Food was good. Service was excellent. Great ambiance in the restaurant. I would definitely go back next time we are in Breckenridge.
Could do better
Had a 7:15 reservation; wasn't seated until close to 8. Another party came in that was 8, but had dropped to 6... they were seated in front of 2 other groups of 6 also with reservations. Not the best way to manage. Pros: + Not very expensive + Good location + Salad was good + Manager tried to make it up to us by giving us a free round of drinks. But this wasn't communicated very clearly, so caused more issues. Cons: - Customer service wasn't the best. Hostess was not managing guests well - Food was OK. Steaks were dry (at medium rare!), and not very well seasoned.

The Brie appie was delicious! The Cowboy Ribeye was amazing, and the Filet was heavenly... The ambience was wonderful and the smells were divine! Great bottle of wine. Loved it! We'll be back!
The restaurant staff was very accommodating as we made reservations for 6 on a very busy Saturday night, they were able to add two additional at the last minute. Service was excellent at both the restaurant and the upstairs bar. The staff helped make our evening very fun.

The food was good tasting but none of it for our party of 4 came out hot.
Great Breckenridge Steakhouse
Steaks were excellent, cooked perfectly. Our server was very attentive. Already have reservations to return for our next trip to the mountains.
If I could give it zero stars, I would. It took more than 7 minutes after we sat down to have the first person stop by and offer water. The server would bring the food and disappear. My friend never got his beer and the server had the nerve to ask if he ever got it after we asked for the check from the manager. The creme brûlée was awful. The creme was gritty and the oil had separated from the cream. Maybe simmer longer before baking?? The loud and obnoxious table next to us had two servers waiting on them for a party of 6. It was ridiculous.

We were looking for a real American experience. Food and ambience wise and we were not disappointed. The 3 meats bbq plate was amazing. The eye fillet was tasty and the kids pork ribs were devoured by the boys. The staff were really friendly and the service was prompt. I would recommend for a mid range restaurant. We will be back.
Salt Creek Steakhouse Food Fantastic
This was my husband's and my third visit to the Salt Creek Steakhouse and the first that we took our teenage children. The service was fantastic, not only from our waitress but from everyone that would walk by and take our plates when things were empty, drinks. It ran like a very well oiled machine. The food is phenomenal. We had a range of meals from salmon, trout, ribeye and filet. My 16 year old son said it was the best filet he had ever eaten and can't wait to go back next year.

Outstanding family steakhouse - PLUS
Our first ski vacation to Breckenridge, most every restauranton the strip was long sold out. Salt Creek had a res avail around 5:30 PM Christmas week, so we nabbed it. Excellent dinner. Truly exceptional service (Nicole). I mean EXCEPTIONAL Great sports bar upstairs with two foosball tables and $4 pitchers during happy hour. Our boys especially loved the Filet Mignon and the Simpsons pinball machine. I dont know how fantastic the Blue Stag is, but this place is a gem. Go.

Overall the experience was great! The food was excellent as was the location. Get a reservation through here though because a group of four had an hour wait at 7:00 pm! The only problem we had was that the service was a little slow, but what can you expect from a vacation restaurant. Will definitely eat here again.
This is generally not our favorite steak place in Breckenridge but on this trip the food and service were both the best we have experienced at Salt Creek on our many visits. The food and service this time was better than our other favorite steak houses. The filets were exceptional.

The server overheard that my drink was made wrong and immediately brought me a new one without having been asked, we really appreciated that.
We thought this was much more like it .The food was well cooked served hot and was good value we all enjoyed our evening and would be pleased to return.
