Decent New Experience

vip
Dined 3 days ago

It was my first time at Melting Pot and not sure if it was this location, but it did not seem too popular and well it seemed kind of decrepit for such a hyped up restaurant. I did enjoy my meal and the overall experience, but I would have expected a much more vibrant scene from a restaurant like this. It is also kind of underground, so not sure if that also gives it a mellow tone to the venue. The service was great though! Very attentive and as I said the food and overall concept is good, but just the location of this specific Melting Pot was not impressive. I might go back to another Melting Pot, but maybe not this one.

fondue appetizers / desserts were phenomenal.

Dined on April 1, 2016

The restaurant is very nice, However we were seated near the entrance of one of the larger private rooms that was hosting a party for thirty-two 16 year old girls. The noise level emanating from the room and the constant foot traffic of the girls traveling to the ladies room located near the restaurants entrance, made enjoying our fondue experience difficult. The staff was very nice and constantly tried to keep the rooms sliding door closed, to minimize the loud conversational level of these young women, but to no avail. Additionally the group of four or five teens would congregate in the public dining area disturbing other patrons and restaurant staff. The appetizers were delicious and the fondue experience was fun. The chocolate fondue dessert was excellent. The dinner fondue experience was not as good as one would of hoped. For the price of the entrees, We would have preferred food cooked by chefs rather than having extremely small portions of raw meats, fowl and fish elegantly delivered to the table to be cooked ourselves by dipping it into the fondue pot.

Khadija Was Awesome!!!

Dined on March 19, 2016

Our server, Khadija, was very attentive. She was actually our server in November when we visited The Melting Pot. I was surprised that she remembered us and the fact that I prefer to drink soda without ice. When taking our drink order, she immediately asked if I would like my drink without ice. She is definitely one of the best servers I've ever had. Thank-you again, Khadija! Good luck with your show! :-)

Restaurant week 2016

Dined on March 16, 2016

Every time I come here, I am blown away by the servers! They are fun, energetic, and so helpful. A friend and I went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and the menu was affordable and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere is fun and the cheddar fondue is to die for! The dark chocolate dessert topped off the meal expertly. We will be back again, and will bring friends next time. I would highly recommend Melting Pot for a fun night out, with great food, wine and service.

Great restaurant, but not enough dishes

Dined on March 12, 2016

We always love going to the Melting Pot. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and usually the service is great too. That was not the case this time. It took a long time for our food to be served and they said that the reason was they ran out of plates. This is not something i would expect to hear at a place where I'm always dropping over $100. This was my first and last time going to the White Plains MP. I'm going back to Darien next time.

Our fav date night

Dined on March 12, 2016

This is our favorite date night spot. We sat in lovers lane this time which is my favorite area cause it's secluded and you normally don't hear anyone else however this time we were sat at the one table that is like touching another booth and not in its own separate room which is disappointing. Those adorable little rooms are the best part!

Fun but pricey

Dined on February 26, 2016

We had a nice meal at the Melting Pot on a Friday night, but I'm not sure I would go back any time soon. Not that it was bad, it just didn't seem worth the expense. Three people for dinner: one had the four-course meal, one had three courses, and one had just entree and dessert, and two beers--with tax and tip it was nearly $170. I don't consider that a good value. Again, the food was fine, our daughter had a great time dipping and cooking her food, but not worth going back. I think you are paying for the experience rather than the quality of the food.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time at The Melting Pot. The quiet and intimate ambiance helped us actually focus on our meal and conversation. The service was absolutely incredible I enjoyed every minute. We were able to celebrate our anniversary and feel as if we had the entire restaurant to ourselves, definitely coming here again.

A Little Off On This Visit

vip
Dined on February 21, 2016

We normally have a great time when visiting the White Plains location. On Feb. 21, though, there were several times where we were 'left hanging' at our table, either waiting for dishes to be cleared, water to be filled, extra condiments to be brought, or for the next course to come along. I believe it was an active afternoon with more patrons than staff, but it caused us to spend at least 45 minutes more at the restaurant than we normally would have. Otherwise, we did enjoy our visit.

Our Valentine after Valentines Day

Dined on February 21, 2016

It was truly a wonderful experience, everything was simply amazing right down to the lovely waitress. The Melting Pot has very intimate booths that allows for you and your significant other to enjoy some alone time away from a crowd but also has some great dining areas for larger crowds. Food was exquisite as your cooking it yourself to your specific likings and I believe everything is the right portion size. Would definitely go again!

We took our five year old son. My husband and son were akepitical walking in but had a great time cooking and eating the food. There was enough to leave full. It's a little expensive so not an everyday place to eat but well worth it for a fun food adventure.

Melting Pot

Dined on February 14, 2016

Special Valentine's day menu was overpriced. They invested a little bit in ambiance, but it seemed to be a straight money grab on a special night. The menu was essentially the regular menu, but with the price 50+% more. In return, you got two glasses of champagne and some take home seasoning. Not worth it. The service was very good, but next time, I'll go on a regular night.

You'll never have so much fun cooking your food

Dined on February 13, 2016

The Melting Pot is something of a tradition for my wife and I, and we have nothing but wonderful experiences when we go. This year's visit for Valentine's Day was no exception, with a special promotion and delightful selections. As always, they are accommodating in the menu depending on food preferences, and the ambiance is amazing. Again, as always, we think the food won't be enough, but we are always full by the time dinner ends. They were understandably busy, and our table wasn't ready as scheduled, but they hustled to get us in as soon as possible, and their hospitality made my moderately-under-the-weather spouse feel great. We will continue to use the Melting Pot as one of our special occasion venues.

Dined on February 6, 2016

I've been to a few Melting Pots and really enjoy going. The food and drinks at this location, however, seemed to taste better. Additionally, each booth was like its own little room, which made it much more romantic and private. Definitely going to go back again!

Good food. Lackluster atmosphere.

Dined on January 30, 2016

My first impression upon walking inside to where we were going to be seated was the room was too narrow and totally lacked atmosphere. It was super plain and very dated. The booth we sat in seemed as if the table was too high and our seats were too low. After getting past the plain room shock, we were greeted by a great server. We chose the four course meal. The cheese fondue with bacon was delicious. The salad, entree and dessert was really good too.

Always a wonderful experience!

Dined on January 23, 2016

A group of 8 ate on Jan. 25th. We celebrated 2 birthdays, one being my 33rd. Some of the guests were late to arrive but they accommodated us. We had a beautiful private room in the back to ourselves. The waiters and servers were awesome and extremely patient. For most of us it was a new experience and they took their time explaining everything. My husband and have been going every year on my birthday for the past 3 years. We always have a wonderful time. Next year I'll try to expand the experience by inviting some family to come along.

A fun family evening!

Dined on January 17, 2016

We had been given a gift certificate for the Melting Pot and my husband and I took our 11 yr old. The food was good (a lot!) - it's not fine dining, but we didn't expect it to be - and it was a fun experience. There were probably 10 birthday parties happening the night we went, so it seems like the place to go to celebrate tween-birthdays. We'll likely return.

Food is wonderful but service is often terrible!

Dined on January 3, 2016

While we come back because of the food, rarely do we receive good service! At this visit to Melting Pot, we ordered 2 types of cheese fondue. Because we frequent the restaurant, we are very familiar with the recipes. We had to tell the server that he was missing ingredients from not one but actually both of the cheese fondues! And we asked for extra vegetables and apples when we placed the order, had to ask again when the fondue was prepared, and still had to ask 2 more times, including after all the other dippers were gone and we were sitting there with absolutely nothing to dip, before the server finally brought us the extra vegetables and apples.

Dined on December 31, 2015

Expect to spend about one hour for each course you order. Almost every time we go to the restaurant, we wait 15-20 minutes at least once or twice for the waiter. It should not take that long when we request and have to ask again for more vegetables for dipping, or for clearing the entree dishes when all food is gone and we are waiting to order chocolate.

The Melting Pot experience is certainly one you will not forget!!! Plenty of choices for delicious cheese and dessert fondue - I was with two friends and tried the quattro formagio as well as dark chocolate fondue for dessert, both were good. The server made us feel comfortable and a very nicely dressed gentleman I took to be the manager ensured that we were well taken care of. We plan to return the next time we have a reunion. For a group of girls that often plan to meet in the City, that's saying a lot!

Nice dinner but ridiculously expensive

Dined on December 6, 2015

We ordered a few different main courses and they were all pretty small. Mine had only three medium/small shrimp, three bite size pieces of chicken, a couple of selections of bite size beef, and some mushrooms. the steak was over-seasoned with pepper, and the teriyaki steak had no teriyaki taste. Also we ate there a while ago for two and now we were three - the cheese course had the same amount of cheese as it does for two - but we were paying a lot more - the same with the chocolate course. We were two adults and a small child and we finished all the courses, paid for three full adult courses, with nothing left over - and we were not very full. The food overall was good, the service was very good, they also put three tables in one room - we walked past a dozen empty tables to get to our table - I guess they keep everyone together in one room and not spread out, it would have been nicer if there spread us out a bit.
