The Mark Dine & Tap Ratings and Reviews
Will try it again.
Meal was good although a little pricey. Servers should mention what specials cost since it is not printed on the menus.
I visited The Mark on a visit to Notre Dame, last week. It's a casual neighborhood place. My daughter and I are pretty serious foodies and were candidly not expecting to find a lot of good meals in South Bend. The burgers we had at The Mark were absolutely delicious- we are still talking about them! The sweet potato fries, friendly service and generous wine pour were lovely as well. All in all, this was the best meal we ate in our three day visit, which included a dinner at a very pricey, fairly swanky place in downtown SB. Love The Mark!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Mark.
The food was delicious, the wine was perfect, and our server Annette was very helpful and provided excellent service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great food, great service, all around enjoyable
Always happy with the food, service and feel. Great selection of unique items and they are always happy to make changes to suit your own taste or needs.
Great as always
Full room on a Friday night but still great service and food.
When in South Bend
You can find fine dining...here. It is in complex of eateries across street from campus ranging from 5 Guys to The Mark in scale of dining experience.
Wild West Weekend Will Wow
The food was good. The service was fast. I enjoy mac & cheese.
Happy to find
We were visiting from California for a hockey tournament. Nice variety of well crafted selections. Our group ate there two times in one weekend. Our lunch waitress was great. We had a late dinner one night and the bartender tool great care of us. The manager was there both times as well. She was very engaged and made sure everything was to our liking. Recommended.
Service has improved over the years, getting your food still takes awhile. Nobody is in a hurry at the restaraunt to get your meal to you. Food is decent but not a great value for the price. Good selection of beers and wine. Environment is clean and pleasant. Overall it's a nice place to eat just wish the pricing was more reasonable
Server, who was very pleasant and accommodating, was aware that we were limited in time. Due to an event in the neighborhood. Made excellent suggestions regarding the menu.
Convenient and Nice
We dined at The Mark Dine & Tap after a Notre Dame football game and had a nice post-game experience. The local draft beer selection was good and everyone in my party loved their burgers.
Very nice evening!
Good food, loved the menu and beer selection. Service was quick. Bit noisy but that adds to the experience.
We came at noon the day after the ND-USC game, expecting to eat brunch. We were disappointed to find out that brunch is no longer served. We ordered lunch which was just okay. Coffee does not have much flavor (too weak). Service is decent. Drinks, especially the Bloody Mary, are excellent. Coffee drink, the Anonymous Coffee, was excellent. Still, I think we will find another place to go for breakfast or brunch.
Good menu except by 5:30 they were out of the steak filet. How can that be when it's the middle of the dinner crowd for people attending the game ? I ordered the beef brisket. Big mistake. No sauce or seasoning and it was dry. Bummer
Great Location, Solid Food
Close to campus, brunch and dinner items are delicious. Just don't get the hummus
Safe restaurant choice
We went as a family of 5 after an ND football game, and it was packed. Luckily we had reservations otherwise game day wait times can be up to 2 hours. The food is okay--their burgers are good but none of my group was particularly impressed with the entrees. Cauliflower steak was dry, the Marsala pasta was im a cream sauce, and the Cubano was a bit bland. Their bar is very nice and the beer is great. Service is also good. Overall a solid choice but not worth waiting hours.
Great spot near Notre Dame
We have been to the Mark Dine and Tap several times when visiting Notre Dame. Conveniently located at Eddy Street Commons and superior food and service make this a great restaurant. The staff is welcoming and accommodating and the owner is very personable and very involved to make sure customers have a great experience.
Good Notre Dame atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, menu, and service. Very convenient to Notre Dame campus. They could improve their dessert menu though.
The Mark hits the mark with great food & Service.
WE were greeted at the door by the Host. he checked us in and we went right to our table. Our server was seconds behind and greeted us warmly. The server asked if we would enjoy a beverage while reviewing the menu selections and before leaving informed us of the 2 specials. Our server returned within minutes with our drinks and we asked for a few more minutes with the menu selections upon return we placed our order and enjoyed conversation. Salads were excellent and the main entrees were even better. We enjoyed our meals with a glass of wine from the list and the choices were good and the selections better. If visiting Notre dame or South bend, I recommend this restaurant for dinner.
Little too loud for a comfortable date. Little to expensive for the food.
Another good meal .... but
We've been repeat customers at The Mark for over a year now (we have a condo in Legends Row) and we've never had a bad experience. Food, service and ambience are always very good. However, now that the Mark doesn't open until 11:00 on Sundays and only serves a lunch menu at that time, we miss the breakfast menu which used to be offered on Sunday mornings (hoping they'll bring it back)
Good food; challenged after football games
This is a great place to eat. After football games, though, their services collapses under the weight of the increased traffic. This was not as big of a problem in past years, even after football games. This season, though, it is extreme. From waiters not showing up to get drink orders for 15-20 minutes, to extreme delays in the kitchen. I don't know why this year it has gotten so much worse. I hope it can improve.
Experience for External Advisors
I heard nothing but wonderful compliments about the food and atmosphere from the External Advisors that we brought in. I called the day of the reservation to confirm that the Advisors would not receive a bill, and my office's house account was to be charged. The night of the dinner that is not what happened, the advisors had to pay for their meals.
Nice meal- eager server, but slow service
Great lunch. But service slow and average at best. Server eager to do well but not well suited….The restaurant is noisy

Great place to go after a game. Love tha they take reservations. Go Irish.
Another great job on a football Saturday night. Our reservation was honored exactly on time, the service was friendly and the food good. The manager made sure to swing by our table to make sure we were satisfied,as he always has done in the past. I have been dining there for a few years now and always look forward to returning.
Two vegetarian burgers and a willingness to modify for vegan is a sign of outstanding service. Very tasty food, as well.

I work on Eddy Street, so The Mark is always a great option for lunch. The food was good, every time I've been there I have enjoyed all that I have ordered. My disappointment is that I did make reservations through Open Table and was a bit confused. We were seated in the bar! I didn't expect that, thought we would be in the dining room. Our server was also the bartender and he was not attentive at all. Had to ask for items that we ordered, he wasn't very friendly and very short and curt when talking. This lunch was a good-bye for a co-worker and even though it was just the two of us, I wasn't happy with the experience.
After reading reviews we made reservations for our recent trip to Notre Dame. We arrived 20 minutes before the reservation. We asked to sit outside and the maitre d asked if we were all over 21 ( obvious since our party ranged from 58-46 yrs old), not answering the outside seating request. We asked again and he didn't respond and dismissed us to the bar to wait. When we arrived at our table, first thing we noticed was the noise level. While our table was by the windows away from the kitchen area, the sound of clanking dishes added to the volume of people's voices made it difficult to have a conversation. Several times throughout our meal large crashes were heard throughout the restaurant. Our server never introduced himself, but got right down to taking our order. Throughout the service we felt rushed - soup and salad were served with the entrees. We had ordered the nachos and wings as appetizers. While the nachos were tasty, the wings we ordered extra crispy were served dripping with sauce and served without blue cheese which we had to ask for. The beet salad was tasty and the hamburgers came as ordered. I had ordered the pork tenderloin dish and was highly disappointed when three slices of tough, pork loin replaced tenderloin on my plate. I could barely get through one slice even though the sauce was palatable. Overall the experience was a disappointment. We will not recommend and we will not be back.
With outdoor dining, an endless beer selection, great wines, and magnificent dishes, this place remains on my fave list.
Always a great meal
We had some family in town and we went to The Mark for dinner. Everything was fabulous. I love the varied menu - a little of everything so you can choose to suit your mood! I had the stirfry - highly recommended!! I should have taken some of it home but it was so good, I ate it all!! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well! The service was great and we always look forward to an opportunity to dine here!!
Last minute reservations
Came in with 7 people not knowing what to expect and everyone enjoyed what they ordered
Great choice for dinner
Great experience. Great food. The atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly. Our food was delicious.
Another pleasant experience at The Mark.
This is a gem of a restaurant. Wait staff is very friendly, and helpful.
We had another excellent brunch experience. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good.
