The Edison Ratings and Reviews
The environment was old school bar. Only view was the back lawn. Perhaps the banquet facilities are better. It was chosen for the location as it is easy to find if you are unfamiliar with the area. As there were few other diners we were able to stay and catch up with friends. The pear salad was average as was the grilled chicken club. The cuban sandwich was reported to be tasty. Next time I will try another place maybe one on the river.

Put in "Dining Room" and forgot about. Good mediocre at best.
Good food; atmosphere subpar for Country Club
7:00 reservation for a Saturday night with choice of the dining room or bar area. The band began at 7:00, we decided on the dining room so we could hear our conversation. Prime rib was a special and portion was ample. Waitstaff and diners were in casual attire (a large family with children in shorts having pizza). The dining room is bright and in need of renovation. When leaving we checked the bar area; lovely space with wood paneling and impressive chandelier over the bar. The dining room should be updated to reflect a similar atmosphere. Would be seated in the bar area if returning.

Food was just adequate; what was unacceptable was the time it took to get our food! We ordered a salad, a fish sandwich and a BLT, and it took over 50 minutes from ordering till the food arrived. We just drank waters, and had to ask several times for refills.
Very good, but,,,,
We were very disappointed they changed their French fries to ordinary and boring steak fries. Their old fries were the best in town

We tried to book a reservation for 11 and it would not let us. So we booked for 7 and 4. Turns out the restaurant was pretty empty and we actually sat across from each other. When we explained to the hostess, she just made us sit in the 2 tables. They could have very easily been put together. Not very many food selections and hardly anything for a vegetarian. Food we ordered was good.

Great location, Bar and Happy Hour very light on dinner menu. Had Chicken Pot Pie which was in a dish the size of a Tea Cup with a Puffed Pastry stuck on top.
good staff but a bit slow service
Although the staff was very eager to please, the service was a bit slow. We ordered a fine bottle of sparkling wine but they only had an inexpensive on hand. They did find a lovely Sauvignon Blanc that we all enjoyed. We appreciated their effort. Food was good and a good value.

The food and service were very good. The menu is very basic, I was hoping for a little more variety. If you like basic, this is a great place for you. Too many TV sets, do we really need to see bad news and sports while dining? Just my thoughts. Great spot for a quick lunch, i'd return.
Great Staff, Food & View
Very fun place with a friendly staff. Views from the Porch Bar looking over the golf course were awesome. They slowed down a bit with the recent golf course renovation and have done a great job rebounding. Brittany was great and new manager Brian was very personable. Grouper sandwich was great and the burger and steak fries were excellent. We stayed after for the band which was fun.
We decided to couple our trip to the Edison Ford Estates with a visit to this historic restaurant. Maybe we came at bad time (lunch midweek), but our service was extremely slow. After a long wait, food came out and it was fine, but unremarkable. We had family members with us so we were a bit embarrassed that we had selected this spot. We had been to The Edison a couple of years ago and thought it worth a return trip. Not this time. Doubtful that we will ever return. We ate outside on the patio facing the green of the golf course.
We arrived on-time for our reservation at the Edison. We were not greeted by a hostess, although there is a hostess stand. The bar was relatively busy. It took a while to get the attention of the bartender, and he didn't seem to understand that we had a reservation. We ordered a drink and sat down at one of the tables at the bar. We were never tended to to order food, or given a menu, so after we finished our drinks, we left. I had to rate the food in this review, but it is certainly not accurate. We never had dinner there, and the bartender/staff didn't seem to notice us. Granted, there was a rains storm right before we arrived, and golfers and out door diners probably rushed into the bar; however, we should have at least been acknowledged, as we made a reservation. I am sure that it would be a lovely location for lunch.

You need to update the menu the dinner menu is more like a lunch menu. some of the entrees appeared odd. The restaurant has an upscale interior but a run down appearance (duct tape on the stairs where you enter. Lots of potential but needs work in many areas. We will probably go back but for lunch. Good happy hour.
Wonderful anniversary date.
We choose to come here for our one year anniversary on the 30th of May. We had a great table and despite them having two big tables filled with people for graduation dinners we received our food quickly and it was cooked to perfection. The only issue we had was that when they brought us the bread and butter, which was also outstanding, we did not have any silverware and we didn't receive any silverware until our dinner was brought out to us. We also highly recommend the honey salmon and the blackened grouper, their sweet tea was also very tasty! Over all we had a great experience and we will be returning VERY soon!
Wanting to visit a nice place with the atmosphere with girlfriends this was a perfect choice… Very good food and golf course atmosphere was a delight

We were looking forward to trying the restaurant after reading reviews about the updated golf course. It seems it was just the golf course that was updated. One dinner...chicken pot pie...was not edible. A strange taste seemingly coming from the sauce. The chef tried to explain no..it was the pastry. This diner said...no, I tasted the pastry and it was good. Other dinner was a grouper sandwich. Tasted very "fishy." We paid our bill and left and simply said, "we will not be coming back here."

I made reservations for valentines day and we were seated in what looked like a banquet type room with cheap banquet style chairs and tables. Or maybe it was some sort of storage or meeting room. It looked like the main restaurant was rented out. It was late or we would have walked out. I will never go there again.

Average at best
The hostess was on the phone when we arrived. She was less than enthusiastic about seating us. The menu was limited. We ordered an appetizer and were assured the entree would be held. Didn't happen. A server dropped them off at the table while we scrambled to move our plates. Strange lighting. A bright bulb hangs directly over the table. Too bad, the place has potential, but has changed hands several times in the past few years.
We have dined there many times and have enjoyed the views of the golf course and fine dining experience- but I made those reservations by phone. This time I used Open Table and our table was located in the noisy bar where we could not visit comfortably with our dinner companions. I asked about being seated in the dining area and was told it was filled. In this case i think using the online service led to a less than desirable table - I will call next time to confirm a better table.

The food was excellent. And our waitress was a superstar. The prices were reasonable.
Great Place - New owners tho
This is still a Chicago Bears bar during football games, which is GREAT!! Unfortunately a few things have declined a bit since I was there last season. Much is the same, but food menu has decreased substantially. The previous chef had a very good spread with great but still reasonably priced options. It's a cheaper selection now, but same if not slightly higher price. The server initially brought a cheap plastic cup for my beer. Come on, this is a classy place, so thankfully she obliged with a pint glass (apparently only for patrons sitting at the bar?) to my table 3 ft from bar, even brought a fresh frosty one by a couple times later. Molten lava chocolate dessert is still a gem on the menu! Overall, still great place. Stay classy!
Great for watching sporting events, waitress was excellent, they did burn our pizza and they were proactive and cooked a new one and comped the pizza.
Lacking important food options
The Edison has a very limited menu - but the one thing that's not included is bread and /or salad with dinner entrees . It would surely enhance the menu to add to it .
Enjoyed our meal. Good service. Don't advice early dinner, unless you like eating with loud bar conversation.
great views of golf course
Nice lunch - beautiful view of the golf course. Fair food, great service.
won't go back
Made a reservation for 5 and already they were out of samon and baked potatoes. Room was way too cold. Server knew nothing about the menu and never came to ask about refills. I was so embarrassed for being the one to pick that place
Good food & great service
Tasty entrees - everyone in our group of six was satisfied with their meal . Our server was excellent & made sure everything was perfect for us. Definitely will be returning again !
Always A Pleasure
Food is always good and service is excellent. Prime Rib on Saturday night is a barghain.
great food and service loud band but still very nice overall
Waited over an hour for food only to discover the ingredients for our kids meals were not in the restaurant at all and they had to go out to retrieve them. Two meals were incorrect and the Manager would not stop cleaning dishes behind the bar to come speak with us. This is not the same restaurant it used to be and many if not most of the items have been removed from the menu. Grouper and Chicken (in various forms) seem to be the only items available. Maybe acceptable as a bar/lounge, but not casual dining!
A wonderful dining surprised
We were looking for place to have enjoyable Saturday evening dinner. We chose this because it appeared to have a variety of options. We were delighted with our choice. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely go before we return to the northeast at the end of March.
Great and the waitress's go
Great and the waitress's go overboard to make your visit great
good food and prices
We had a groupon and had not been here in years. Our tuna shooter appetizer was excellent as was my salmon entree and key lime pie.. My husband's Tuna entree was quite fatty in the middle but perfectly prepared. They have happy hour 4-7 so that was great! Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Seating choices were indoors, outdoor covered bar or outdoor. We would definitely consider returning.
there were only 3 other tables with people at them. so my reservation was a mute point. we were told it was under new management when i asked where the menu i saw online was.. almost everything was gone so if you were going calamari or steak or something dont bother. they have a couple appetizers, pizzas, 4 or 5 sandwiches and 4 or 5 entree's. it has now become a pizza place basically. the spinache and artichoke dip was VERY bland. we ordered soup and our entrees. they brought them out to us at the same time on the same tray! thank you for making us choose which food to let go cold so we could eat the other! my flat bread was burnt with very little tenderloin on it. my husbands grouper sandwich was missing stuff and was VERY small.
Sorry to say we didn't stay!
Sorry to say we didn't stay! Very disappointing in the menu, went somewhere else
The food at Edison was great, the only flaw in the experience was the waitress seemed to have forgotten about our request for drink refills. I finally had to go up to the maître de to inquire as to the delay, after we had basically finished eating even though we had indicated halfway through the meal that we would like refills. At that point, the manager did come over to our table and got things back on track.
