The Edgewater Grill Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday at The Edgewater Grill in Seaport Village recently. The staff was extremely gracious and accommodated our seating request as well as allowed us to begin earlier than our original reservation time which was helpful. The hot brownie sundae my daughter received, complete with lit candle, was a special treat to end our meal. The location is just lovely and even though we chose to eat inside, we were still able to enjoy the view and each other's company. A good dining experience overall.
Lunch spot with a view
Went there for a business lunch (party of 5). There are tables on the patio, but you cannot reserve these - first come, first served. We didn't get to sit there, but the dining area is surrounded by huge windows, so you still get lots of sunshine and bay view. I ordered the ahi taco (raw tuna + seaweed salad + veggies + corn taco). It was delicious! Others ordered fish tacos, fish and chips, steak salad, and shrimp salad. All looked good (but I didn't try, so, can't tell how good they are). They have really good fries too. The restaurant is located in seaport village - so, good place for a stroll after lunch. Overall, we had a good time. I recommended the ahi tacos to friends.
Love the Edgewater Grill
We always enjoy eating at the Edgewater Grill. Great location. Love to eat on the patio when weather is good. Food is always excellent.
It was an awesome day to be outside and enjoying the company of friends while enjoying great food.

Great place!! I'd definitely take clients there again.
Nice view; mediocre food
Sitting on the patio, there's a very nice view of the bay. That was the main reason we went to Edgewater Grille . Unfortunately, corn beef hash turned out to be potatoes from a bag, cooks nice and crispy, mixed with some sliced corned beef. It was the kind of corn beef that comes in squares. It wasn't chopped up and it wasn't hash. The entire dish was topped with two slices of what appeared to be Kraft pepper jack cheese... It wasn't corn beef hash, and it wasn't very good.
Holy slow service
Took a client for lunch and the service was terrible. Took forever for everything. Table was terribly wobbly and I had to secure it with my foot. Wait staff excuse for delays was a "large table". Terrible and I'll never bring a client here again. Also, the ciabatta bread was as big as a human head, and you had to dissect the sandwich to eat it.
The restaurant was awesome! wonderful service with very tasty food :) My significant other and I enjoyed a very nice valentines day dinner had a couple tasty drinks. I got to taste a mojito for the first time and I was splendid, although we did not get that fancy with our food it was still very presentable and tasty. From the host to the waiters it was awesome!! I am glad to have chosen this restaurant as the surprise dinner for my husband. we plan to visit this restaurant one more time before making our bif move up to sacramento. I will recommend this one to whom ever is looking for a casual dinning with awesome view and wonderful service. Thank you so much for the experience you guys are awesome!
When we walked in the lighting was too low. It was very loud and people were dressed down for the prices of the food. The scene was good, but the food was pricey for the quality. We got there 10 minutes early and didn't get seated until 5 minutes after our reservation time. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Great 1st experience! Great service!
The food was very good. The service was even better! I wish I could remember the waiter's name. I ordered the crab omelette and it was excellent! My husband ordered the fish and chips and loved it as well. He is very hard to please when it comes to fish and chips, but was very happy with it.
After Bridal Shower Dinner at Edgewater Grill
Had made reservations. We were placed in the back where we had a fairly good view. My best friends from out-of-town were dining with me. Unknowingly until later, we were seated right next to I guess you can call a banquet or party room. There was a huge Chinese New Year party going on so we had a very difficult time talking and hearing each other. Food was good, even though the restaurant ran out of brussels sprouts so we were only able to have the mixed vegetable. The noise got to be too much and tiring. Server was good.

Enjoyed a nice evening. Food was good but service was a litle slow. Overall- good but not great
went for Breakfast
The omelets were so so. The country breakfast was good. They validated our parking ticket but when we checked out in didnt work..so we had to pay
Stopped for a late lunch. Service, food & drinks were great. Nice harbor views.
Typically, restaurants in high tourist areas along waterfronts can have average-at-best food. You are paying for the view more than the food. We were pleasantly surprised with our lunch at Edgewater. Everyone said their food was good, the fish in chips is highly recommended.

The place was empty. Swordfish and potatoes were good, the rice was hard and dry, like it had been sitting for a long time. For those prices, I could of had much better food somewhere else.
The service was great, the staff was all very friendly and the food was terriffic We will be back.
Great View, Great Food
I'd been to Edgewater Grill before, but never for breakfast. A friend and I chose to have a non-traditional Thanksgiving and make that our main meal. We were very happy with our restaurant choice. We were given a table with a water view (inside, it was a little to cool for outdoor dining). We both couldn't decide between eggs and pancakes so we decided to order both and split them. Thank goodness we did that! The four pancakes were huge; we could barely eat two apiece...but they were so, so good. Light and fluffy, exactly the way a pancake should be. Our egg choice was the BAC omelet, and that was also very good, and a nice smallish size. The omelet was well cooked and how could you go wrong with bacon and cheese (+ an avocado slice, which I ceded to my friend)? The potatoes that accompanied it were good, too. My only minor complaint was that my virgin bloody mary was WAY too spicy; I took just a few sips. Our waiter was good, but he would have gotten super high marks had he noticed that and asked why I wasn't drinking it. All in all, a great Thanksgiving breakfast, followed by a scenic walk along the waterfront.

Outside seating was awesome, people watching and a view of the ocean and Coronado Island. Great vegetarian options and yummy food. Excellent service and nice beer selections.
The food is FANTASTIC, Alvin was an awesome server
The food was nicely prepared. Very fresh and great presentation. The wait staff was very good. The outside dining overlooks the bay. I highly recommend Edgewater Grill to all.

The food was amazing, everyone in my party had something different and we all were impressed. The waiter was wonderful, I feel bad that I didn't catch his name. He was very attentive and kind. Such a wonderful experience, next time we are in the area we will make a return trip.
Great breakfast/brunch menu
Edgewater offers some creatively delicious breakfast items. I had the banana bread French toast with peanut butter-butter and fresh sliced bananas. Add the syrup and it was amazing!! Another person in our party had the fruit waffle and the fruit is "in" the waffle and they raved about the flavor!! We had an awesome view of the harbor from our table and enjoyed watching the Pelicans, etc. while we ate.

Wonderful service, beautiful views, and terrific menu!
A surprising adventure
We brought out of town friends and i was more impressed than they were. Who knew that space was there and breakfast......wow. My new favorite spot.
Great spot for dinner with work colleagues
Our group of 6 had a great time at Edgewater Grill. Everyone's food was delicious and came out exactly as expected. The NY strip was tender, and the salmon was wonderful. Waitstaff were attentive and met all our needs. Definitely will visit again next time I'm in San Diego.
Beautiful View of Coronado Island!
Perfect seating outside for people watching. Great views of bay and Coronado Island.
The restaurant was clean and their was no wait time with the OpenTable. The table was already set up with menus for our party. We were having a business-meeting lunch. We were seated just inside, along the Windows. This was nice because it was windy this day. Outside may have been too cold. The drink service was fast and continued to be fast. However, it took 30 mins for the waiter to ask our lunch choice. This made it a little rushed to eat and head back to the convention. I had the 1/2 soup, 1/2 salad lunch. The food quality was really good. The soup was hot and flavorful. The salad was a typical side salad - needed a little more dressing; it was dry.
Edgewater Grille 10-2015
We were staying at the Hyatt Grand a few blocks away. I had walked past the restaurant several times, during the week and thought it would be an ideal sunset dinner location. We tried to reserve a table prior to sunset but could only get a reservation for 6:45 PM. We walked around the area prior to dinner and thought we would try to get a table on the porch early. It was 6:15 pm and we were seated immediately, just in time for a glorious sunset. The food was good (nothing WOW) but the service was great and we had a good time. It was a nice find and a lucky stroke to get a table the way we did.
Nice Dining Experience
We were expecting nice ocean view and bad food and service. We were pleasantly surprised. The fish tacos were exceptional. The salad side instead of the fries was a great choice. The service was good. A young waiter that was a little green but was trying to do a good job. I recommend this place and would go again.
Amazing find ! Great view , sat on the patio . Service was fantastic !
Great view of the harbor but the restaurant is pretty worn and the food was quite average.
The Edgewater Grill stands out
My wife and I visited on 9-19-15. We arrived at sunset. The sun was well shaded by light curtains and umbrellas for those outside. The décor inside was very nice, the service was great and the entree's were excellent. I had the fresh catch and my wife had the pizza which was very generous in size for a personal pizza. The area is a hot spot for activity and people watching right in the middle of the Seaport Village. We made a note to come back again on our next visit to San Diego.
We had a breakfast meeting right when they opened at 8:00am. Initial concern turned into a great experience. Our waiter was great food was great and they met the tight timeframe we had to meet. Had lunch at the bar the day before. Tuna tacos were great! We'll run with good food!
We were there on a weekday morning for breakfast. How pleasant. Service was outstanding.
The food was outstanding, especially the sea bass. The view was stupendous. Great sunset. The interior could use a bit of an update. Great find.
As good as I remember
It had been about 10 years since I'd last visited this restaurant and it was still a nice place to eat. The atmosphere is comfortable, but not casual. The right mix of great food and drinks with the California kick-back you'd expect from it's location.
Five for brunch on a Sunday at 10:30 am. Five different egg orders & all were very good. Place was busy but our service was very attentive. Glad I had Open Table reservations or it could have been a 1/2 hour wait.
Lovely view but you do pay for it
Very nice dinner but be warned entrees are pricey. Good service.
