the C restaurant + bar Ratings and Reviews
The cocktail and bread with goat cheese whipped butter were excellent. We ordered the special which was halibut with spring peas fingerling potatoes the halibut was very overdone and expensive. There was a sauce which was only foam it could have used some sauce I will not b eating there again.
We finished the Big Sur marathon earlier in the day and wanted to go out for a nice dinner to celebrate. It was a group of four of us (two couples) in our mid-20s. When we arrived, the person at the desk barely looked at us as he walked us to our table. Then our served came up to our table and took away our wine menu telling us that we were too young to drink. This was not a joke, he walked away with it. Instead of asking us for ID, he just dismissed us and treated us poorly right away.
A great place for a special occasion.
We were taken out for a meal after being hosts to relatives from the UK. We were treated like Royalty. One party member cannot eat wheat and accomodations were readily available. The restaurant was quiet that night, and the bus boy was a little too eager to clear our plates. The food was excellent and well presented. All the fish dishes were cooked to perfection. Loved the Barrel wine concept and it was great wine too. Thank you C. We will return for another special occasion.
Cannery Row Quality
Prices are high, but it is in the middle of the tourist strip. If you are looking to go high end on Cannery Row, this is an excellent choice. It is not the kind of gourmet or 5-star restaurant that reviewers would rave about. Service is quick. Dishes are well prepared. We were staying at the hotel and had a dessert reception at the Aquarium; so it was just what we wanted.

We enjoyed our meal. Great view of the ocean. Yummy breakfast.
Always good to have an ocean view while you are dining. Service was superb. Although the menu is a bit limited, the entrees C offers are great. My duck breast was prepared perfectly.
C restaurant hit it out of the park. We have severe dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate us with world class results. Do not miss crab mashed potatoes or any fish. Fantastic stuff. Our server Salvador was outstanding. And it was great to see Michelle working magic in the kitchen. We highly recommend the view as well.
Great View at the C Restaurant
Enjoyed the view of the Bay even on an overcast day! The food was good - especially the calamari appetizer which was outstanding. The dining room is large, open and bright and pretty much every table appeared to have a good bay - view. Our waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable concerning the menu and willingly made substitutions upon request. We lingered to chat after the meal and there was no pressure for us to leave, in fact, the waitress came around offering more coffee long after we had settled the check. There was a fellow singing and playing guitar during the lunch. He was very good and could easily be heard at the far end of the dining room where we were seated. I thought the meal was a bit pricey - although it is probably comparable to other fine dining establishments on the peninsula.

Great food and service.. Fantastic views. Would definitely go back.
Delicious breakfast with great view. We saw dolphins and more.
The C was a great find. I'm a 50 year resident of the Peninsula and had never dined here before but that's going to change. Great food, great service and wonderful view of the bay. Valet parking too! I live part time in Las Vegas and this restaurant reminds me of some of the better spots it Vegas when it comes to service and atmosphere.
Great view but....
Admittedly, we went to "C" restaurant at the InterContinental, Monterey for their prix fixe New Year's Eve dinner rather than an everyday meal. Still, I would have expected better food and service for the hefty price. We never received any bread, the complimentary prosecco came halfway through our dinner, our waiter seemed to have way too many tables to handle, and our cocktail order had to be sent back to be fixed. The live music and view were a plus as was the complimentary parking but overall, it was a very disappointing evening.

Really nice surprise, I took my daughters there for a "Ladies Who Lunch", lunch and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious but the fries with the fish tacos was slightly weird. Fabulous wine list! Gorgeous views! Fantastic service and a lovely hotel.
Outstanding dining experience.
We went here for our anniversary. We could not have been more pleased. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the treat for dessert was wonderful. We highly recommend this restaurant. The scallops are divine, and so is the calamari.
So much less than anticipated
We book this table based on the description and the pictures of the view. We got there, there were tables available by the window, but were told that we could not sit there. That waiter seem to be in a hurry, and the food was far less than we expected at such high prices. The Caesar salad was unremarkable. The fish was fresh, but he was not anything on the plate that was delicious. Disappointing for an intercontinental restaurant.
Christmas Breakfast 2015
For a second year, we had breakfast at c-Bar Restaurant at the Clement, Cannery Row, Monterey, California. Can't be beat, the service, the Pacific Ocean right outside the window, the best food and service ... what more could ask from Santa this Christmas morning?
Found you by googling "fine dining in Monterey" and gave it a try. We took our employee and his wife out for our annual Christmas lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. We had a beautiful lunch with outstanding food and outstanding service! Thanks, Serena B, for treating us wonderfully!
Dinner overlooking Monterey Bay at sunset
Sustainable sea food menu, outstanding sea bass for main course (recommended by curator at Monterey Aquarium). Wonderful view over the Bay at sunset. Relaxed and friendly service with quiet live music (acoustic guitarist) providing great background but without any interference of conversation from excessive noise. Good choice of wine and overall cost very reasonable considering location and quality of dining. Highly recommended.
Classy, romantic dining experience
The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the view of Monterey Bay was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our special date night experience at the C Restaurrant.

Location is great on the water in the heart of Cannery Row. Got a table with a great view of the bay! Food was excellent-- members in our party had both the filet mignon special as well as halibut special -- both well-prepared and presented. Fried calamari appetizer also excellent, and presented with fried lemon slices and green beans. Kids menu items a bit pricey, but accommodating in that there was one available with adequate selection. Unfortunately, service was a bit lacking, as we had to remind wait staff of drink orders, and despite staff making note of my private request to recognize my wife's birthday and taking her name at the beginning of the meal, this was completely forgotten by dessert.
Good service - beats surounding venues
The service and staff were very attentive, the food was great, and the atmosphere was above par for the area.

Oysters and wine pairings throughout the evening were excellent!
View is great, server was good, but not the food
The view of the Monterey Bay is great and it's kid friendly. Our server was good, but one of our kids dinner did not come with our other three meals and we had to wait what seemed like 10 minutes. Our server did bring our kids two free desserts, but unfortunately that was the best part of our meal. My wife and I ordered the scallops and both of our scallops were way over done. Very disappointing for such an expensive dish. I will not be going back because the food was not good.
Wow, what a wonderful view and ambience. The service was excellent food was excellent too.
Come for the view
We were here for a late lunch on Saturday. Overall, the staff seemed to be trying to do a good job, but the pace was slow. The food was good in principle, but not particularly flavorful in execution. The Miyagi oysters barely had any flavor, but were supposed to be locally sourced. Calamari was better. My tuna nicoise salad had a nice look, but lacked any spicing. Given all that, the view and location are exceptional, and they put us in a window seat.
Great food, not so great dining room
We went to a special Vieve Cliquet dinner with 4 courses and 4 glasses of Vieve Cliquet champagnes. The dinner was exceptional as were the champagnes. However, the dining room was not; I'd describe the decor as upscale Dennys. It is on the water, but there is a public walkway next to the windows, so you can watch tourists walk by. An elegant dinner should be matched by an elegant dining room. Unfortunately, that is not the case at the C Restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel on Cannary Row in Monterey.
Very nice breakfast
My family of 5 greatly enjoyed our breakfast in this pretty restaurant. I ordered the quinoa pancakes And my husband the huevos rancheros de marisco, both which were outstanding. The bacon was cooked perfectly crisp, and of course the sour dough bread was delicious. The kids menu was also very good with lots of good options. The only improvement I would suggest is on the coffee which was just average. Otherwise a great meal.
Staid with a great view.
Sat by the window with a great view of the Monterey Bay. Although a very romantic setting, the food was not spectacular. Don't recall what we had for apps; husband had the duck and I had the abalone. The duck was a large and meaty portion but uninspired; the abalone was interesting, my first taste of this as we are from the east coast. He had iced tea and I a bottle of water; the bill was $110. We had a better meal at Fishhoppers for less & just as good a view. We went to Ghiardelli for a hot fudge sundae for desert. We loved our dinner the next night at 1833.

Great food & service experience. Awesome music background & an ocean view. Friendly & knowledgeable staff members. Highly recommended. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.
Scenic and Delicious!
Always good food. Service never disappoints. And that view!
Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Despite a somewhat drab interior (made up for by the spectacular view) ... the food was AMAZING and the service was impeccable. Amidst the cliche spots on the strip, this spot stands out!

Good and service always good here. Just take a little time to find parking because a little bite hight curve from the road to valet parking and our car very low loaded.
Disappointing to say the least.
Went with a group of 18 people for our team building and we had high hopes for a nice lunch, most of us ordered the Monterey Style "Cioppino" since we were by the ocean. On each of our bowls we had 1(one) mussel no clams about 3 little bay shrimp and I certainly didn't see any crab and if they was fish it was all falling apart, we started calling the dish tomato and onion stew. I was certainly feeling awful since I picked the restaurant and could see how everyone was reacting to the food. I wish I could post a picture, they should feel ashamed of themselves for call it Cioppino and charge the public $29. We had a table by the window and the view was very nice, the appetizers were very good.
Perfect quiet end to a bustling Monterey Day
Fantastic food and service, excellent live guitar/vocal music, quiet enough for conversation, tables that aren't on top of each other and an incredible view of Monerey Bay. What better way to end a day fighting the crowds on Cannery Row.
Romantic first date.
The C is a very good for a romantic first date....and I'm sure for more follow up romantic dates. The service was great and they could see we were in deep conversation and always showed up at the appropriate times, like they were watching to make sure and not interrupt. They did an awesome job. I especially was impressed that I finished eating first but didn't take my plate until she was finished as well. High marks to the wait staff for that. And a huge thank you to management for having the whales show up and put on a display. My date commented on how much I must have had to pay management to go out in the bay to feed the whales so they would show up. The whales was the icing topper to a phenomonal day and dinner. Oh... and the food was outstanding. Prawn appetizer, Swordfish and Sea Scallops all done and presented to perfection. Great job!! Highly recommend the "C".
