Excellent experience at the Brixton
A group of 6 friends ate dinner here the other night. We ordered a variety of apps, entrees and desserts and everything was excellent, including the service. We are planning on coming back again next month.
Great food but the place is not a 1st date kind of spot. The noise level was insane.

Second Time Deal Breaker
We went to the Brixton because we wanted burgers -- I am a carnivore, my is vegan. When we arrived -- with a reservation -- we waited for at least five minutes at the host stand without being acknowledged by anyone. We finally caught someone's attention and were seated in the front of the restaurant. The server promptly brought us menus and water (without asking if we wanted any), and we placed orders for drinks (one glass of wine and one beer). After almost 20 minutes and no server or drinks, we had to get up and ask someone if we could get our drinks, which had been sitting at the end of the bar the entire time. The food took at least 20 minutes after ordering. We had to move tables because there was such a draft that we were freezing. Once moved, the very attentive bus boy took our flatware and side plates -- TWICE. He was so fast that we didn't notice. Overall: go there for a loud atmosphere and drink at the bar, but don't expect outstanding or quick service.
Fun spot, very lively, great for brunch. Try the Crispix french toast and the fried chicken, both were good.

The food was delicious. Far beyond what I expected for fancy bar food. A few things ordered: Mussels with chorizo, Mac and cheese, the burger with onion rings. Excellent. Cocktail list interesting but not over the top. Service, mediocre. It was not a busy night and plenty of staff on hand, but staff was nonchalant. Two examples of many: Items we ordered as a main dish came first. I asked about whether other things were coming and server replied only "yes" and walked away. When we left we walked right past the host and I was going to say thank you but he was staring into the air and turned away without a word himself. Seems a shame as they put effort into tasty food. Could have been an off day, but the level of staff attention was nowhere close to the excellent effort clearly being made in the kitchen.

Terrible host and hostess who couldn't read the computer screen and ignored us once they got a call. Far too loud to even sit for a drink after being so disrespected. Very disappointing.
We came here for my husbands birthday and had a fantastic time. 4/6 of our party were stuck in traffic and arrived 45 minutes late. The hostess saved our table for us, as we had cocktails and waited for them to arrive. The food was great, cocktails on point, and service was great too.
A definite neighborhood find!
WOW! What a pleasant suprise in the quality of the service and the meal. I have to say that the clam chowder was probably some of the best I have had in many years. The entire meal was excellent and the service was 'spot on'! I would recommend Brixton on many different levels.
Unfortunately the service here has gone down in quality since opening, and while food remains decent, we won't be coming back here as often. Not only did we get seated after someone behind us in line was seated, our food, drinks, and even just tap water took forever. Meaning. We were seated and no one helped us for 15 minutes. It was not busy- maybe 6 tables in the whole restaurant. Unfortunate.

We went for a large group brunch on a football playoff weekend and considering the size of our group we had great service, food timing was good, and the house cocktails were excellent. Reservations are definitely recommended as the place was packed
Great until the end
I went on a Saturday for brunch. It was raining so my friends were running late. The waitress was cool about that and we ordered as soon as each of us all arrived to keep the tab going. Everything was great until the very very end. Did we overstay, the "2 hour limit" perhaps, but that doesn't mean the moment we all stand up, the little bus boy (whom looked like a very young Asian boy and this was his first job), attack our table to start cleaning it up. I didn't even have my coat on and my friend had her purse on the chair which he was blocking. My friend said excuse me a few times to ask him to move so she could get her purse and he ignored her. We were all taken back and ask ourselves once we walked outside. "did that just really happen?!". Honestly the food and drinks were good, its a great brunch spot. But oh man, if you go a minute over their 2 hour limit, yikes, beware... they might be busing your table on top of you. A little bit extreme and harsh. Oh well.

Great food, great ambiance
Three of us had dinner there on a Thursday night, and the food was great, and the drinks were better. Had a really nice time, got a booth in the back, the music was good and not too loud. Will go again.
Great find for meet up with friends
Food was great. Small menu but great options. Drinks were great too. Good Service. Parking limited.
ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE AND THE LOCATION AND PARKING WAS GOOD.

Immediately upon walking in the door, I knew this was in the setting I was looking for to catch up with old friends. The music was great, the cocktail I had was great! The beer selection was good. Our waitress was sweet, and attentive. Just not what we were looking for.

We go to Brixton on a regular basis. It was always a fun and hip place for the folks in there twenties and thirties. It's even a kid friendly place for ones with kiddies. It's my neighborhood place where my kid has been to since he was a month old till now(18mon). They are so accommodating to kids so it makes it the easiest place for dinner. It's got all the components to make everybody happy. 1. Food is good. 2. Big screen Tv for sports. 3. Open area for sidewalk seating. 4. Kid friendly menu. 4. Superb bar and best of all, an upbeat atmosphere with great service.
Cold and Slow
We went there for Sunday brunch. Long wait for the food. The food was cold. Not warm but cold. The servers were interested in chatting with each other around the cash register.
Good Food but way too cold
They have great food and our server was very nice. I had the salmon and my husband had the flatbread pizza. The music was nice but too loud, and it was freezing cold inside.
overall great experience
Great staff - especially the hostess that was very helpful. Loved being able to reserve online. Love the decor. Wish there more food choices
Sunday Brunch at The Brixton
Very loud, heavy bass background music and loud bar made it difficult to have conversation at the table without raising our voices. The brunch entrees were just so-so. Would recommend The Brixton much more for a late night drink outing than a relaxing family Sunday brunch spot.
Neighborhood hot spot
Good food and a popular neighborhood place. Fit for out of towners to get a feel for the local bar scene.
Great food and service, great ambiance for a fun Sunday brunch. Everything was great but the Huevos Rancheros was a little bland and one the dry side.

I always forget how loud it gets at night. Food is great all day and the bar is a good vibe, sometimes a little too busy on weekends. If you can grab brunch or lunch outside its a sweet spot to chill and people watch.

Bad weekend to go. Fleet Week. Clearly not enough staff. Sat for a half hour before begging for service. Appetizer was good. Left right after that. We could see it was not going to go well.

Rock-Inspired Bar/Restaurant with Great Food.
Really fun place to go with your friends for dinner and drinks. Loud. Good food. A few TVs. Upscale enough to wear leather shoes if you want. Fun things to look at. Great bar. A legit menu.
It felt like I was in the middle of a Frat party.
Since I visit San Francisco several times a year I try to pick a couple of new restaurants to try each time I am there. I made a reservation for Saturday, 6:30 party of 4 and it went down hill from there. The food was good but there is no seperation of dining area and bar. There happened to be a UCLA football game going on and it was so loud I could not hear the people at my table over the party seated behind me cussing everytime the other team scored against the Bruins. The food was good, the service was poor but it was not all our servers fault. The couple of times she came by she would not have been able to hear me if there had been a problem. There seems to be an identity problem with this establishment. It is not a restaurant. It is a loud bar selling food. We ordered appetizers, entrees and deserts (no alcohol). Our bill was about 167.00 before tip for 4 people. I want to enjoy my meal, the company I am with in a casual setting. As far as coming back, the food was good but not good enough.
Kitchen was struggling to keep up. We waited way too long for our food and when it came out they had failed on the eggs and the Carnitas Hash was served luke warm as usual, meaning half the dish is cold when you eat it. We really like the place. Food is usually pretty good, service is always super friendly and accommodating, location is great, place looks good. I can't imagine what is going on in their kitchen.
I just moved to the city and am not super familiar with places to eat out here. I found the Brixton on Yelp and was so pleased. I ordered the rib eye and LOVED it.
Always good for a great Brunch!
The Brixton never disappoints. We just had brunch there before OutsideLands and had the best bloody mary's (always add bacon) and delicious food. Nice to get the belly full before a day of drinking! Recommend a reservation if its a busy SF day though otherwise you're waiting in line for at least an hour. Enjoy!

We were attending an event at the Palace of Fine Arts on a Wed and were worried about finding a late night place to eat at the last minute. This place was open and accomodating.
