Food - excellent. Ambiance perfect especially outdoors. Mixed drinks need attention.
Nice quiet night out.
There were very few customers, because of this I felt the food was extremely slow getting out to the table. The food was perfect temperature. We both ordered the fried seafood platter. Very heavy on the batter, We prefer a light batter as we have had in the past. Over all a good night out.
Have eaten at The Boathouse on several occasions and each was a top notch experience. Have celebrated our wedding anniversary the last two years and enjoyed everything. This year was our first on the outdoor seating area and it too was great. April weather was perfect for the outdoors. Food is great, service is great! Next visit will be soon....hopefully for the Sunday brunch, which too is great!
Loved every minute of the three hours we where there. The food was fantastic.the service was awawsome.we where not rushed and treated with class. My 78 year old mother and 80 year old father could not stop talking about how great everything was.My wife loved all the gluten free choices and foods from the surrounding areas.I give the the Boathouse five stars easy***** Don't pass this place up.
Nice restaurant in a neighborhood lake setting
We have eaten here many times over the years. Our food was excellent (salmon, steak) and our waiter was very good and attentive. During the warm months, the outside deck (very large) is open with food service, live music and good bar service. Not really a complaint but I wish that the mixed drinks on the call liquor were a little larger. The other frozen drinks, house specialties are all a good size.
Beautiful Spring Evening

Best View in the Richmond Area
Sitting on the deck, next to the water, live acoustic music playing and enjoying a delicious brunch was how we celebrated a special birthday. It doesn't get much better than that.
I was so pleased to hear how great everything was from my daughter when her and her date dined there before prom. The food and service was great and they had a great time. What I love most is making the reservation online and they give you a confirmation call. This was a big day for my daughter as it was her senior prom and they were treated like adults and the server knew how special everything was!! Thank you so much!!!!
I will start off by saying this was my second time dining at the boathouse but it was my gfs first time. She loved every part of the dinner. The service, food, view, atmoshpere was all phenomenal and we will be back again

We love the Boathouse. It's our go to restaurant. Sitting outside while the sun is setting is awesome. It was my daughters 20th birthday. Everyone loved their meals as always. Good job!

We loved it, it was our first time and will definitely will be back for a special date night. It was a little expensive for frequent dining but perfect for our 41 st anniversary.
Best of the Boathouses
We've enjoyed Boathouse (Sunday Park) for years - the staff and view are exceptional.
Throughly enjoyed our visit to the Boathouse. Wonderful relaxing view with excellent waitress. Fantastic experience and plan to return over and over !

Salmon was great. Filet was OK. Chicken with mushrooms was great. Crab cakes were great. Don't get the mint julep. Do get any one of the flavored mojitos. And margaritas were surprisingly good (get sugar on rim, vs salt for a change). And of course, the pizookie...
This is our second year attending for Easter Brunch - we had six kids in our party and we love that it is kid-friendly, but also presents food and atmosphere that is high-end enough for adults. We very much enjoyed the live music. It is fast becoming a family Easter tradition!
We were placed too close to a very noisy group of 14 people. We were celebrating my birthday with our grandson!!! No mention from the staff but was told when placing the reservation. We were never offered bread and chose not to stay for coffee or dessert. Not pleasant dining!!
We went here for my husband's birthday & we had a lovely time. The food & service was great.
Super friendly, efficient staff. Sat out on the patio where the view and ambiance was wonderful. Our waitress was training two others but we never felt ignored. The food was delicious! I would highly recommend "The Boathouse". The only downside was finding a place to park. Well worth the many times we drove in a circle trying to find a space.
Great restaurant with a beautiful view!
I took my wife here for her birthday and it was our first time here. Our server Amanda was very helpful and attentive to our needs and wishes. The food was amazing and the desserts were to die for! We loved everything about it.
We had a perfect meal with outstanding service. All the food was prepared by a very conscientious chef because it was absolutely delicious. If you love great service, excellent atmosphere, and wonderful food, this is the place to go.

The food, as usual, was good. Service, by trainee, was energetic, but very slow. Live music obtrusive and unnecessary.
I recently had a birthday dinner there and was surprised at how accommodating it was for the amount of people on the reservation. I was impressed and staff was great!
The food here was really delicious and surprisingly affordable. We all got different things to eat at brunch and we ended up all sharing bites of each other's because everything was so good.
The ambiance, food and service are awesome. I have been to the Boathouse before and never had a bad experience. I can't wait for summer again to have drinks outside by the lake!
Good Location, Food good not great
A great location with a beautiful view. The food was good especially the calamari appetizer . The entrees were good but not great. For the price there are other alternatives in the area that pull it off better. I would go back but more for the view than the food.
Took my date to The Boathouse for dinner on Valentine's Day, and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal. Atmosphere was great. Would have preferred music level be lowered and style of music (rock) to be varied - love songs would have been appropriate / maybe next year?
Perfect Brunch, Minus the Kids
Went to the Boathouse with my wife for Brunch. We are fans of their dinner so wanted to give their Brunch a try. We started out with drinks and I got the 1/2 carafe bloody Mary and my wife go the 1/2 carafe beach Bellini. The bloody wasn't as spicy as others I have had, but the flavor was great. The added spiced green beans reminded me of a spicy pickle. After tasting my drink, my wife wished should would have ordered a bloody instead. We ordered the crab and artichoke dish as an appetizer and it was perfect. The bread/flatbread pieces they served with it were a great match and the flavor of the dip was one of the best we have had in a while. I had the biscuits and gravy and my wife had the crab Benedict. She loved the crab cake and said it had a great grab to filling ratio (more crab than filling). She wasn't a huge fan of the tomato hollandaise sauce and wished she would have asked for normal hollandaise, but otherwise was good. My biscuits and gravy were delicious. The biscuit was soft and fluffy with a crisp bottom, just how I like it. My only complaint would have been the number of kids that were there for brunch. This was surprising to me considering it is the Boathouse, a nice, classy restaurant, and it was Valentine's Day. The kid issue wouldn't be an issue for me if their parents would watch them, control them, and keep them quiet. This is no fault of the Boathouse though. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back for brunch.
An Exceptional Find
This was our first visit. While not the least expensive venue, the food was nothing short of exquisite. My wife had their Peach Bread Budding French Toast - It was to die for. I had Chesapeake Eggs Benedict - essentially, eggs Benedict on a biscuit with crab cakes instead of ham. They couldn't have been prepared any better. Highly recommended - We will certainly go back
Delightful experience, slightly pricey
We frequent the boat house a couple times a year, usually on special occasions. The two locations we go to are Sunday Park and Rockets Landing. The experience and the hospitality never fails to be excellent. The wait staff are very good and polite mostly being there at the appropriate time window to check on you and to take orders. The food timing is always very good. The food is good, but it could be better for the prices they charge. I would NOT consider it pricey IF all the food was just a bit better. Some items are REALLY good and others are just above average. Even with this point, we still enjoy due to the rest of the experience and I would recommend to try it for the excellent staff and of course the views of the river city and the lake (at sunday park) are a big plus.

This was our first time visiting The Boathouse (any location) and we had an absolute wonderful first experience. The waitress was very attentive and food was excellent. Will definitely go back!
Great Presentation, but not satisfying
We were excited to finally go to the infamous "The Boathouse" restaurant. We were greeted nicely and seated promptly and our server was knowledgeable, polite, funny and fantastic. She even had the floor manager come to our table who'd been told that it was our first visit. Everything was served looking exquisite from the appetizer to the final course. However, nothing had any flavor; the most flavorful thing was my one beer. I get that due to the public's healthy eating trend, that the seasonings would be salt-free, but no seasoning at all? The crab-cake was without filler as advertised, but it also lacked the natural crab flavor or any seasonings which would have brought out the flavor. Even the oysters were without taste; and oysters are usually bursting with flavor. For the nearly $100 tab, it was truly a dis-enjoyable experience, especially for a seafood lover who was looking forward to a mirage of flavors from such a posh restaurant. I'll never go there again, nor recommend it to anyone.
Romantic even at Sunday Park
Took my date to the Boathouse restaurant at Sunday Park with extremely high expectations and was not disappointed. We made reservations (very needed, were not accepting walk ins) and were seated with the view I had requested in less than 5 minutes. The waitress was extremely busy but never neglected us a bit. I ordered the NY Strip and my date the blackened chicken. Each was cooked perfectly, there was never a rush placed on us to order, eat, or otherwise. It was an awesome atmosphere, and very romantic.
We had a really great time
Went for my parents 50th anniversary. The staff AND diners were all very complimentary. The food was quick and the desserts were delicious. A great place and a good time had by all.
Great but Noisy
We were seated next to a noisy group despite specifically asking for a quiet table. However, things were great beyond that.

Great food, friendly staff
Our first time there. Very easy to make reservation on the website. Has children's menu. Very good food.
