Terzo (which means third in Italian) offers a daily changing menu of about 15 small plates and 5 large plates. Its “pan-Mediterranean” fare is under the care of Executive Chef Mark Gordon. The wine list offers over 80 options of European and Californian wines chosen to pair with the food.
A high table sits between the bar and dining room and offers communal style seating for up to 10 diners. Additional walk-in seating is available on 3 high tops in the front window. Espresso leather banquets line the dining room. A more intimate back dining room can be booked for private parties of up to 18.
Inspired by the wine bars and cafes of Sicily, Rome, Seville & Madrid, wines are stored along the walls of the dining room. An original fireplace was refurbished and is lit when the weather is chilly out. Stylish lighting creates a chic atmosphere.

Overall, amazing. Very pleased with the experience.
Excellent food; with a Mediterranean flair. Great date spot! The waiter was under the impression that our food took long, which wasn't the case, and brought us a free dish. Awesome service and awesome experience overall.

An all-time favorite in SF. Best done as family style/shared. Hummus is to die for. I have had the meatball at just about every notable place in SF and Terzo ranks tops. The pasta of the day is always good. Add a few seasonal dishes and you are in your way.

I just love this place. Been twice can't wait to go back :) Great lighting , food & music :)

It is a wonderful feeling to be greeted as warmly as we were after being away for almost a year and to be remembered by Ron and our server( whose name I ,embarrassingly, cannot recall), both longtime "members" of the Terzo family. Terzo is always on our must-do list when we get to SF.

Great neighborhood restaurant. Meatballs and chicken speidini are favorites. Tried the boudin for the first time, it was delicious!
Warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. And delicious food!
My partner and I had a lovely meal here. The food was outstanding and the service was prompt and friendly. The hummus is a must. The only downside was that we were seated between two large parties that were very loud.
fantastic food esp the hummus, fried onions, gnocchi and ravioli. great flavors. fun for sharing. lots of wine options for under $60. good value for a san fran resto. pretty location too. except it's cold by the windows.
Neither my friend nor I had eaten here before but decided to try it at the recommendation of my coworker. We shared 4 dishes and both really enjoyed all of them. We also got the flourless chocolate cake which was good, but not nearly as good as the small plates and entree we ordered. The skirt steak was delicious! I will be back.
Great food, great service, nice ambiance, menu changes weekly, fresh seasonal ingredients, What more can you ask for?
The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable and it was a truly wonderful evening for our group of 4. Highly recommend this cute place. Great lighting, atmosphere and menu!
Excellent food, subpar service
The food and wine selection was on par. The service was not the best. The waitress seemed rushed and would leave the table before we could even get a word out.
This is a local, neighborhood restaurant that would be a shame to miss. It features small plates which are wonderful because you get to sample the entire menu. Make your way there. You will not be disappointed.
Great food, exceptional service.
Tried it for the first time and am now kicking myself for not coming here sooner. Highly recommend.
I came here with my fiance who I just proposed to that day. It was a great place to have a nice romantic dinner. Food was excellent.
Four small plates, well prepared, well seved.
Small plates were perfect for a pre-theater meal. It's fun to share tastes of each dish, so a small group would be fun too. Good service and fun. We liked the mozzarella and chicken piedini and we'll be back to try some other dishes.

Every dish was amazing! Always a great meal here.
After many times, we never tire of the food!
Great food, attention to detail, excellent service, as always
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants where we take out-of-town guests because we can depend on them to deliver a pleasurable dining experience. The food is the most important aspect of any of our dining adventures, the service comes close behind, and ambiance and noise level are also important. Our guests, real foodies, loved the entire evening, and so did we, of course.
Great food, not great service
We had made a reservation for 8 p.m. and weren't seated till 8:30 p.m. I find it incredibly frustrating when you make a reservation and aren't seated within 15 minutes (you should really be seated on time but I can understand slight delays). The hostess failed to let us know that we could sit at the bar while we waited, sat several other parties ahead of us who arrived after us, and once we were seated, we noticed there were several 2-person tables cleared, set and ready for patrons. Once we were seated, everything was great. Our waitress was attentive and the food was excellent. If it weren't for our unfortunate first 30 minutes, this might be one of my favorite restaurants in the city. My partner mentioned that he'd like to bring his parents the next time they are in town but they'd be outraged to endure a similar wait (with a reservation) so we likely won't take friends or family when we're aiming to have a seamless dining experience.
Always a pleasant experience
This was our third visit to Terzo and it met our expectations. We were in San Francisco for business and try to visit this restaurant when we are in town. The small plates make it easy to try different tastes and share. Ambiance is great.
One of the city"s nighbirhood gems!!
Mark and his staff always give 110%! The food is always outstanding as well as the service! This is one of my SF go to places for a great dinner and comfortable settings. Hummus is great meatballs and polenta always a big hit. Menu changes regularly. This last dinner we had the pork shoulder and risotto w/black truffle in addition to feta and date salad and some of the menu regular items. We normally order a few plates at a time so we don't over order. Don't pass up the desserts! Outstanding!! Enjoy!!
fourth time here. Disappointing
Our server seemed rushed when taking our order even though we had 5:30 reservations. Spent much more time with the out of town guests at the table next to ours. Obsequious is the word I would use to describe. When asked about one entree, server was brusque and not very descriptive. Consequently, when my chicken skewers arrived, they were overly spicy for my palate. Previous visits were much more enjoyable.

Excellent service per usual. Outstanding starters. Selected entree was a bit heavy on the salt. Desserts perfect.
Enjoyable all around
The food and service were good, even on a busy night. We enjoyed the quieter table by the window although the music was louder than necessary. The menu is imaginative with interesting wines to try. It is definitely a place to visit again.

We had a positive- memorable experience at Terzo. Our waiter covered the entire restaurant which may account for our food taking a little bit longer then desirable, but well worth the wait. Everyone cleaned their plates!
Great food, but small portions for the price
Food was fantastic. Very flavorful Mediterranean fare. The portions were just small for the price, which was disappointing. I had the chicken entree for $22 and I just got one small drumstick/leg of chicken and small amount of orzo. Same with the sides-if you are going to charge $15 for a side, it should be enough for 2. Service was friendly, but so slow. We were at dinner for almost 3 hrs waiting for our food and the bill.
A nice eveing
This is a great neighborhood spot, one we've been to several times and will dine at again. The only complaint is that they do not offer valet parking, even though they're answering machine message stated they do on the day we called.
Delicious, laid-back but always enjoyable spot
I love Terzo! I couldn't believe that I'd never been in when my fiance and I had dinner there a couple of months ago. I've now been three times since, and I absolutely love everything I eat every time! I have gone a couple of times with girlfriends, and we always try a lot of dishes and share everything. It's a great way to sample a lot of the menu. I've yet to be disappointed by anything. The servers are so friendly, and I'd come here every day if I could. I have to say - this is maybe my favorite restaurant in SF. Can't recommend it enough!

One of our favorites in San Francisco
I have been to this restaurant twice with my daughter and we love it. Originally, I chose it primarily because of its location just off of Union St., but we loved the small plates, found it so warm and comfortable with excellent service we would happily go far out of our way and chose this again over another because we had such a good experience the both times. The only thing that was slightly bothersome is that when it gets really busy the European style seating can lend to a lot of noise and make it slightly difficult to hear but it also makes for a vibrant vibe. I like that it is clearly a neighborhood favorite even though we are not from the neighborhood. We were surrounded by lots of people who knew each other from the area and were busy catching up with each other. Our menu favorites are the hummus with pita which comes warm with herbs, the pork meatballs with polenta and the Greek chicken. Will definitely go again!

Wish I lived where I could go to Terzo at least once a week. Fun energy from the moment you walk in. Servers are the best, want to make sure your food and experience is exactly what you wanted. Food fresh clean tasty something for everyone. No need to go if your pompous because the vibe is great food with great service more of a collective community. Thank you!
Fix Acoustics Please!
The food is comforting and good, the wine list excellent, and the ambiance relaxing - if it weren't for the noise level. I've been 4-5 times now, and each time you must yell to be heard and won't catch much of the conversation happening at your table. The result is a stressful, awkward evening. We've gone back because it's two blocks from our house and serves late, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend who wants to talk to their dinner companions.
Put the Fab in FABULOUS
Our waiter was outstanding, very friendly, explained the meals perfectly and food was delivered in a timely manor. The food was unbelievable good so fresh and marage of ingredience perfect Wine OMG great selection fair price points Can handle a large table just a diamond in the rough
