NOT WORTH THE PRICE
VIEW VERY NICE SERVICE SLOW AND INADEQUATE THINGS ORDERED NOT DELIVERED ICE TEA SPILLED ALL OVER ME AND NO COMPENSATION ON THE BILL FOOD FAIR TO GOOD BUT SLOW IN ARRIVAL
Fantastic except the noise
Food, view, service were all great but the noise killed it. I have nothing against live music but when you have no separation or barrier from the bar, it detracts from the great dining experience.
Good food and best view on the bay.
Very enjoyable. Often the music is so loud during the dinner hours that you cannot have a conversation. This time was the exception with nice background music. The food was excellent, wait staff attentive. This was our third visit on a night they were having wine specials, and the third time they had "run out" of our first and second wine that we selected. At 6pm no less. They worked real hard to up-sell on a wine that was twice as much. By the way, we had the salmon, but it was the wine deal that smelled fishy.

I have already recommended this restaurant!!
This is my second time to the restaurant and I plan to come again. I have already recommended this restaurant!!
Elegant choice in Long Beach
Elegant quiet ambience and excellent nouveau cuisine! Although we enjoy Long Beach's many informal dining choices, there are times when you want something a bit upscale. Tantalum is the best choice. It's a tad overpriced, most items being slightly more than even higher end Westside spots, but the setting is lovely and the food is beautifully plated and perfectly prepared.
Always a great time here!
Had a wonderful evening here on this very special occasion. Started off with the Strawberry Fields cocktail and it was so refreshing and delicious! My honey and I shared the flatbread and then each ordered the Kobe burger which was amazing but could have definitely split it because it was so filling! We just had to have dessert since we were celebrating 4 years together, and we decided on the dark chocolate lava cake and oh my! so good!! My evening ending with an amazing surprise, my wonderful boyfriend asked the band to bring me up on stage and proposed to me in front of everyone! of course I said yes! :) This memorable night is definitely one for the books!
Lovely for lunch
I met a dear friend at Tantalum for lunch. The food was delicious. I had the Hoisen Chicken and my friend had the Salmon and would recommend both. We shared the Bread Pudding dessert which was good and large enough to easily share. Dinner can be more noisy, but the view is lovely, the food is good and the decor is gorgeous.
Awesome location, great view
Loved the Kobe sliders. The view is amazing and the band playing was fantastic!
View - Yes; Value - No
The view and ambience for this place is very good. We were seated by the window, service was "fair". From the Happy Hour menu, we ordered the lettuce wraps (great taste and value) and edamame (great taste and value). One in our group ordered a Happy Hour Martini which she sent back. Everyone else ordered from the regular menu. We also ordered the calamari (huge portion, she liked it). Food, we got steak. 8oz with wasabi (taste was fine, but for the price, I could have gotten a better steak at Ruth's Chris for that money). All in all, if you want to take your mate for a romantic atmosphere and great view, this is the place. Be prepared to pay for that view. If you are a foodie like I am, I don't recommend it.
Service, food and price were great.

Americana and Asian cuisine Fusion. Loved it! Will return next time I'm in town! A must try!!!
My wife and I visited Tantalum for the first time last weekend. Our excitement was met with a cool reception as the hostess appeared to be less than enthusiastic. We dine out a lot and have become accustomed to a smile and warm welcome (afterall, that's the first 'handshake' with the customer). Nevertheless, after we were seated, we were met by a cheery and smiling waitress. The food was par, but the waitress was forgetful and we ended up having to ask the busboy to fulfill a request since she was MIA once again. Additionally, my online reservation requested a seat at a window if one was available. Miss Unhappy Hostess escorted us to a table right next to an open table next to the window. I asked if there was a problem with being seated next to the window, she replied "Oh, you can sit there if you want." The vibe from her was as if I reminded her of someone who had killed her dog! Maybe this was an off day, but we won't be back.
wonder atmosphere and service!
The brunch menu was limited but absolutely delicious. The server was on point even when he was double sat. I will be coming back here!

The hostess that night were rude and food was extremely salty. But nice little area perhaps I would go again only for drinks.
Loud loud loUd
Fun place average food. Be ready to shout at your dinner date.
They have a top notch chief which provides phenomenal food. Superb ambiance and great service.
NICE PLACE, NOT ANYMORE
NICE ROMANTIC PLACE A FEW YEARS AGO, NOW OVERRUN BY TACO BELL AND POPEYES CUSTOMERS, EXTREMELY NOISY, WITH OBSCENITIES FLYING LEFT AND RIGHT ... AVOID !!!

Just a real cool, chill environment!!! The only reason I said the noise level was high was because there was a live band performing, which did an awesome job.
Great spot for special occasions or night out!
The three (3) of us were celebrating the end of audit season and filing of the 990 tax return. It is also a great spot (practically on the beautiful Long Beach marina water) to catch up, celebrate a anniversary, birthday, going away, etc. The live music is beyond amazing! We ordered about seven things and all the food was delicious! I would recommend this restaurant every day of the week and twice on Sunday! The customer service was also great. Need I say more? The place had much 'swag' with energetic overtones. I WILL BE BACK, AND SOON!!
Maybe I just had an "off" night here...but my eyes could not adjust to the lighting that I felt like I was straining my eyes just to be able to see. We were seated in the "quieter" corner...so maybe it was just dimmer there. Food was ok. We ordered the fried rice, Mac and cheese, and short rib sliders. Mac and cheese was pretty basic...sliders were bomb. Ordered a mojito and it was just tooooo sweet so I only had 1 sip and wasted $10 . Service was average. It just seemed too expensive for the average food and drinks we had. However, I would still recommend the place for an evening out- it is a nice restaurant with pretty cool views. Just don't sit in the dark, dim corner.

Food was WAY too salty! I did not like the Brie crostini jam appetizer and the Buddha rice and fried tofu vegetable udon tasted like salt. My friend liked the miso soup and some fish dish he got but it was nothing to rave about. I wish I checked the website first because it was so loud from the band my ears started to hurt and triggered a migraine. Oh and the service was horrid, our server went MIA and there was nobody we could even flag down for help in our vicinity.
I enjoy Tatalums, the only thing that was a buzz kill was the nice kid that was running around and ended up taking a cookie off our plate. Food was great, drinks were amazing and the music was awesome!
It started bad, but then got better
we love this place, we were meeting friends, they arrived before we did and were holding 2 seats at the bar, they placed their drink order then 2 other people came and the bar tender, said that they could not hold seats, in a rudely way, my husband and I were parking, but she did not care, so the other 2 people took the seats and did not order a drink or food... not cool because I walked in as soon as the other 2 people took our spots, and we were drinking, plus had dinner reservations. at the end the other 2 people left and we got the seats back, the bar tender came and apologize for being so rude to us, after that everything went normal the drinks were really good and the food was outstanding. I would recommend this place.
It was a great dining experience for my wife and I, will definitely come back. The mussels and sausage as appetizers delicious recommended it to everyone
However if you're out to have good conversation forget it, it's way too loud.
Fun Friday at Tantalum
I hadn't been to Tantalum, one of Long Beach's prettier restaurants, in a while. I booked a table for 2 on a Friday night at 8:30 and, fortunately, it was as good as I remembered. Our server was fun and rolled with my Dad-jokes, the hummus and tahini starter was delish, and my companion's Mahi Mahi was excellent. Though my seared tuna was great, I was kinda envious of her. The atmosphere was lively - always a decent-sized crowd here - and a loud-ish band was playing Van Morrison-style R&B. We didn't stay for dessert, but had a fun time.
Great view of the boats and surrounding harbor. Beer selection is good. Highly recommend the Kobe burger!
The food was very good. I had the mahi mahi which was excellent. My friends also stated their dinner was very good. Service was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would definitely return!
Nice harbor/canal front restaurant
Nice ambiance. Good food. Nice view to the neighborhood on the water. I was surprised to find that this restaurant is in a mall, but it did not influence the restaurant quality.
Always a good vibe here
Always a good vibe here
My favorite place!
I have enjoyed every experience at tantalum and will be back soon!
Great food, great ambiance!!
We were treated to an Anniverary dinner here recently, and were so impressed with the food-the calamari appetizer was excellent, as was the grilled salmon served with a watermelon and feta cheese salad. And we loved the Stonecutters live band!!! Would definitely return if/when we are in the area.
"Simple" Wait Staff
Brought wrong drinks twice and the waitress just passed the blame on somebody else. Sat at a terrible table and felt generally ignored.
unpleasant - returning customer
The ribeye was too fatty, burnt tasting, and not worth $50. It was way too loud (live bad) and temperture in the dinning area was too warm. I asked for hot tea, and they gave me a cheap tea bag to choose from for $3.00. Tea bag, not loose tea leaf. I live in NYC now so its been some time since my last visit to Tantulum and the quality of food was a diappointment. Im more upset about my time wasted then the $100 spent for two people. I believe the bday party they were having was the reason for such a loud noise...this isnt a place for people in their 30s, more for 50s and above. If thats the crowd they're aiming to serve...I guess they're doing a great job. Regardless, the food wasnt that great.
Great Dinner Spot!
What a great restaurant! The food was great, the environment was awesome! I will for sure go back!
Excellent, bday celebration was 100% fun.
Awesome place, can't wait to return 10/10 Rebecca was a great host, she made visit that much better. My boyfriend had never been and loved it, he wants to go back soon and sit at bar. Mojito were excellent and great food quality
hints of excellence
Seated with a beautiful window view but difficult to have a conversation because noise/acoustics. Baked Brie was overwhelmed by the chutney. Beautiful presentation of beef salad but would have preferred arugula over spinach which was too bland in contrast to the delicious beets & goat cheese. Ordered the Wassabi filet - filet was cooked perfectly but I was entirely underwhelmed by the Wasabbi "crust" which tasted pasty and would have been better served as a simple condiment along side (I love wasabi). Mashed potatoes were "box type" and reduction far too salty. My partner had tofu which she said was very good. This was my 3rd trip to Tulume and my first 2 experiences were in large group settings where noise was also an issue however food was very good. Will give it another try before giving it a Grade "B"
Very Peaceful Lunch
My visit to Tantalum was fairly quiet- but that's a good thing. Not many other diners were present, and I was able to enjoy both the conversation with my date and the scenic view in peace. Our server was very attentive, and overall the experience was very pleasant.
We had a great time at T! Great food and great service. Atmosphere is fun. Live Music on Sunday afternoon and happy hour after 2:30pm!
