Great food and atmosphere.
Great place for a get together. Appetizers were good enough portion to share with friends.
Love SJ Meeting Place
St. Johns and St. John's Meeting Place are our favorite places for a special night out. The food and the service are always spectacular. And the bartender's really know what they are doing. That's why we keep returning. Love taking out-of-town guests here.
Incredible in every way!
Food and service was fabulous! My favorite in chattanooga so far!

Creative chef and professional, personal service
We were in town for a wedding. We were so impressed the first night we dined here, that we returned a second time. I'm a vegan, and there's always a creative entree on the menu. Our server was attentive and yet not disruptive. My Husbands steak was cooked perfectly; tasty and tender. My vegetables were fresh with oyster mushrooms, flattering seasoning, all on top of French lentils. All of this in a very pleasant old building!
Exceptional service and food
On our recent visit to Meeting Place we had exceptional service and food. Our waiter was very receptive and was happy to tell us all we needed to know about the menu. Earlier in the day I called the restaurant to see if they still had a particular menu item we love. Chef Rebecca answered and was very gracious. The food was prepared well and quickly. Their plating is always nice and the seasonal dish we had matched the availability of SE TN farms and was delicious. The "usual" favorite I ordered includes perfectly cooked pork belly and continues to hit home. Ambiance and noise level are appropriate while the servers are experienced and professional.
Best burger and ice cream in town!
Of all the amazing options at the Meeting Place, the burger is my favorite. It's so delicious, always done exactly how I ask. The fries are out of this world too. The last time I was there I ordered the homemade ice cream, s'more flavor. Seriously the best ice cream I've ever had. This is an awesome place for any occasion. Always so pleased when I leave. I always recommend this to my girlfriends for date night!

Carpaccio was great! Service was a little too attentive. Felt like there was a real need to push us out the door, even though it wasn't busy. A good fast food experience if that was what you want. Went to the Squirrel after appetizers to finish our meal. It was much better

The Fried Rice dish was one of the best things I have ever had. I highly recommend it especially for the pork belly. Excellent service as well
Great dinner for 8
I took my team of 8 to SJ-MP and to a person they all raved about the food...from the appetizers to the main course and desserts. I had the scallops over cauliflower risotto and it was great. The best restaurant I have experienced in Chattanooga.
After reading the great reviews we made our reservations for Valentines night. The seating arrangements were not comfortable, almost awkward but they did accommodate us with a window table that only one of us had a view . our server was good and very polite. However, he seemed to be rushing us even after I asked him to slow it down he kept speeding us through our dinner. As for the food, complete amateurs in the kitchen. No imagination on the menu or on the plate. Bring your own seasoning if you want it done right or any at all. Very bland and very disappointing. One high mark does go to the bartender whoever he or she was. They knew how to mix a drink.
Just relocated to Chattanooga, TN a few months back and not familiar with all the restaurants. Found St. John's Meeting Place on line, booked a reservation, and what a GREAT surprise. Everything we ordered was exceptional! Not kidding! Joe, our server was attentive and very helpful. A truly enjoyable dining experience. Their tartar is among the best I have ever tried! My wife's steak had the best flavor all the way through as did my sea scallops! St. John's Meeting Place will become a regular place for us. Wine list was a bit pricing but a very good selection! Trust me, you will enjoy this restaurant!

Late seating is for our reservation by about 20 minutes. Sat near the front door and very cold. Food was average, hostesses were short, waiter was very good.
Good Food but...
Based on Trip Advisor, I made a reservation online having never been there. The problem is there are two restaurants and I made my reservation at St John's but was deceptively directed to Meeting Place. When my name was not on the list, I was then asked, "Did you make your reservation online? You must be next door." (an indication that they make a habit of this deception) Clearly I had no idea this was the case not realizing these were two separate places with two different atmospheres. Quite frankly it left a bad taste in my mouth. Notwithstanding, the food was excellent. That said, it was a cold evening, we were sat very near the door. It was uncomfortably cold and I wore my coat the entire time as did my wife. Couples seated to our left and right after we arrived were served much more quickly to the point I felt our order had been completely forgotten. It was a shame as the meal was quite delicious-eventually. It's just that the other issues matter... Not sure if I will be back. If so, not during winter.
Great Food and Service
My wife and I loved the food and service at St. John's Meeting Place. Would highly recommend the restaurant. The setting sun was a small issue at the beginning of the meal due to our table location. A bigger issue was the doorway construction allowing large amounts of cold air into the room. There are two curtains in the entrance and then the door. We felt horrible for the staff at the door.
Not what it used to be...
We have eaten here many times but this last time was completely unacceptable. We were seated upstairs at a large table with metal stools. We ordered appetizers and only one was put in correctly. The other one was completely left out until we brought it up at a later time. It took an hour and a half to get our food and when we finally got it it was cold. The service was mediocre at best. The entrée that the husband and I ordered was a play on pork fried rice. The rice was gummy in sticky and cold. The pork that was in the dish was only moderately warm. Everyone else at the table also complained that their food was cold. The fact that we waited an hour and a half to get our food in it being cold was simply unacceptable. We will most likely not go back to this restaurant next time we are in town.
A Galentine's DInner Date
We were in Chattanooga for a Girl's Weekend over Valentine's day and had a delicious meal here. While everything was delicious, the duck was definitely the undisputed winner of the evening. Go. Eat. Enjoy!

Beef tartare and Gulf shrimp rolls are great apps. The seared diver scallop entree was also very good.
Love St. John's Meeting Place
We have been several times. The food is always amazing. You can do several small plates to share around or have one as an appetizer and move on to the entrees. you can't go wrong either way! The foie gras and the beef tartare are some of our favorites, but the roasted pork belly gave them a run for their money on our most recent visit. We often start with one of the drink specials, but the bartenders are very skilled and can make whatever you request. This place is not to be missed!

Excellent service and attention to detail! Always excellent cuisine and presentation! Michelle is lovely and a true asset to Meeting Place!
A good place anytime
Our party of three were greeted and seated promptly, given adequate time with the menu. Although the bottle of wine we ordered took a very long time to arrive, we know drinks tend to take there time at the MtgPl anyhow. The menu was to the season, and served creatively and freshly made. When we balked at the lack of chocolate on the dessert menu, the waiter offered to see about getting one from 'next door'. I went for it, but it was was still not enough in the way of dark chocolate. BUT delicious! Of course we'll go back.
Great food and service
Fully enjoyable with very good food and attentive service. We'll be back!

Fantastic experience at ST. John's but they did not have record of my open table reservation. Fortunately they were able to accommodate us anyway and we celebrated my mother's 76th birthday successfully. Great service, food, atmosphere and their being able to work us in spite of the open table reservation failure was greatly appreciated.
Fun night out
Great place for a girls night out, date night or drinks after work.
We had flown in from Seattle to Nashville that afternoon and were not sure we'd feel we'd be up to driving another 50 miles from our inn in Monteagle, so I cancelled our reservation. We rallied later that day and were not able to get into St John, the more formal restaurant, but found a reservations the MP. On the way we realized that Tennessee is split into two time zones and we were late for our reservation. I called to apologize and they were gracious enough to hold our reservation, so that was awesome. Next - the food was sublime. We shared a few starters and a main and everything was perfectly executed and well timed. Service was also top notch. We're happy that we were able to make it and even through we didn't make it to the more formal St. John, the meeting place was amazing.

Great find in Chattanooga
Great pork belly tacos & fish collar. The chicken was surprising wonderful, not boring ole chicken. I would like to see more affordable wine by bottle (35-50 range). The hostess was wonderful. I didn't find the chairs comfy so she moved me to cushy wall bench. Overall great food & atmosphere.
Special treatment for a special occasion
Made a reservation to celebrate my sister's 28th birthday and her passing her nursing boards. I made note of this in my reservation and when we arrived, our menus said "Happy birthday and congratulations" which totally wowed my sister. Great service and hospitality. Food was affordable and the menu a great selection, wine and alcohol offering.
Been many times and this experience tied for best...every dish perfect with nary a miss...Perfectly dressed salads...spent some time perusing their wine list and came away impressed with the breadth of it including some very rarely seen Italian varietals.
Great when you need that unique place.
I took a first date to the Meeting Place last weekend, and am very glad I made that choice. The atmosphere and ambiance were perfect for the occasion. There was enough chatter from other patrons to make it seem lively but not so much that two people couldn't converse. I'm not the biggest foodie on the planet, but do enjoy trying new things. The menu is gourmand without being intimidating and uses many locally-sourced ingredients. Our server was professional and attentive, and there is this sense that the place doesn't hire just anyone. If you want to set your first-date bar high but not outrageously so, this place would make a good choice. It would also be great for a meetup with friends where something different and good is wanted.
consistently great dining experience
Walked upstairs to the bar to wait for friends and I thought I was at some trendy place in Brooklyn. But that's the Southside vibe, young hipsters and older foodies mingling over inventive cocktails or a nice glass of wine. Downstairs the efficient, friendly and knowledgable wait staff took care of the bustling crowd. Our meals were delicious! Duck confit and the scallops were notable. You can always count on the Meeting Place for a wonderful dining experience.

our server ,Mary Elizabeth, even though a new hire, was very attentive and professional. food was great. service was very good. can't wait to go back.
Next door to the superlative St. John's Restaurant, Meeting Place is it's edgier little sister--more casual and more lively with a very cool upstairs bar. The food is great, the wine list similar to St. John's. The two restaurants are connected but have separate kitchens and different menus. It can get a little noisy, so if you have a larger group you will better able to hear each other if you go upstairs to the bar area, as it has seating areas and higher group-size tables. A great place to make reservations or just drop in.
I was looking for a nice place to bring my brother ( who was visiting from out of town)for his birthday dinner so I searched on the web for great restaurants in Chattanooga and chose this one. I found the place to be lacking in charm with a very cold atmosphere and uncomfortable seating needless to say I was not impressed. Most of the food was mediocre except the beef dish my brother had which was a blessing. although the waitress was helpful and very attentive this was my first and last visit. I will be surprised if this restaurant makes it in Chattanooga.

Went for a birthday dinner. Never been here before, but will definitely be back. The attention to detail within the dishes was outstanding. The service could not of been better, our server was Joe....he knew the menu exceptionally well and was able to explain some of the dishes we were curious about in the most informative way. Overall the meeting place was a very pleasant surprise to what I thought it would be like. Good place to bring a larger group of people. One of her very best options that chattanooga holds.
I have never been disappointed by Meeting Place. It is always delicious! the wine list is affordable, but still one of the best. Great ambiance and service, too!
