Sole Mio Ratings and Reviews
T'was our first visit but not our last for sure!
The food was excellent! Veal and chicken parmesan were not offered on the menu but the chef was very accommodating and said he could make it to order. I ordered the veal parmesan and It was delicious! Our waiter, Robert, was personable, attentive and pleasantly engaging. The next time we visit Nashville we will definitely make another reservation. The only criticism we had was that their wine list consisted mostly of very low quality, low budget wines yet they charged wallet gouging prices. We know because my wife just retired from 25+ years of management experience in the hotel hospitality business. Improve the wine list and value and we would rate them at 4.5 stars. Bob & Carol
My husband and I were in Nashville on vacation. We wanted good Italian food. I checked Yelp and there were a couple of options including Sole Mio. Mixed reviews and a couple of bad reviews. Because it was next to our hotel we decided to take our chances and are glad we did. I think that a competitor may be making the bad reviews because none of it was true. The server immediately informed us that the house specialty are the homemade pastas so we stuck to what they do best. Cooked to perfection. Not over cooked or undercooked. The beef and pork ragu was amazing. High quality. Same with the house made marinara. House "Miste" Salad was of fresh greens can carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onion. The house balsamic was very flavorful and had a hint of sweetness. Bread pudding was "smack your mama" good. Also house made.

Food was good, service was ok. We got the Linguine Alla Carbonara with shrimp, and the Ravioli Di Quattro Formaggi. Both had very good flavor, the ravioli portion was very lackluster for the price. The carbonara was good in both flavor and portion.
What a disappointment.
I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. I was a regular customer for 10-12 years. I haven't been to Sole Mio in 6-8 months because of frequent travel. When I needed to have a business meeting lunch, I choose Sole Mio because of many great past experiences so I made a reservation. We got there and had to wait - they didn't care that we had a reservation. They now have a buffet, which was not what I was looking for in a business meal. The lunch menu has been drastically changed focusing more on sandwiches and pizzas, though it still had pasta and a few other dishes (I had been tasting their veal saltimbocca all day, but it was no longer on the menu). :They've changed their Caesar Salad and it barely tastes like one. It tasted more like a ranch dressing than a Caesar dressing and was very wilted. I had manicotti - it felt like it had been popped in the microwave and was fairly tasteless. My associate had lasagna and he didnt' finish it. I had the tiramasou for desert. It was the best part of the meal, but it wasn't up the restaurant's usual stands. In addition, the service was very brusque. No one came to greet us at host stand - they just yelled from the other side of the room that they were full and we'd have to wait. When I mentioned we had a reservation, they said "sorry- all tables are full." If it wasn't for the fact that I had a business meeting that I needed to get into, I would have left. This was a restaurant I loved and enjoyed for years. I don't know that I will come back. This restaurant has gone downhill quickly.
Upscale Italian Dining
Upscale Italian dining with a romantic atmosphere. Food is very good and authentic. One negative as with fine dining I find the portions small and the price high. We use to go there years ago and they have evolved over the years and prices have increased. I find since I do not prefer to fill up on bread that the meal leaves me still looking for more, and that was with a shared appetizer. Service was great and they let you leave the car there if you are going to a show.

A RELIABLE CONVENIENT FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE
WE DINE AT SOLE MIO ABOUT ONCE A MONTH BEFORE ATTENDING PERFORMANCES AT NEARBY VENUES AND WE ARE NEVER DISAPPOINTED WITH THE EXPERIENCE. THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE RELIABLY GOOD IN THE VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION AND THE PRICES ARE MODERATE BUT REASONABLE FOR THE PREPARED-TO-ORDER ITALIAN OFFERINGS. SOLE MIO HAS A NICE WINE LIST BUT WE APPRECIATE THAT SERVICE IS GOOD WHEN YOU SHY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL BEFORE GOING TO A PREFORMANCE.
Very Nice Early Anniversary Dinner
Although I found this restaurant online, its selection was based on references, close proximity to the Schermerhorn Center, and a good selection of vegetarian entrées. My wife enjoyed a very good salmon and I enjoyed the best gnocchi ever. The staff was on par for a restaurant of this caliber and I especially appreciate the manager's help in planning. We then enjoyed a fabulous concert by Chris Botti!! We recommend this for very good Italian food to start your time for any of the entertainment options nearby.

Wonderful lunch. Food and waiter were excellent. Will definitely be back often.
Order manicotti and got some spinach concoction. My pasta with vodka sauce and sausage was good. Wine overprised.
Good italian food with good service. Just a short walk to most things downtown. Great place for a quick meal or to make an evening of it.
Great early dinner before symphony
We had a delightful dinner prior to walking to the Schermerhorn. The food was great and the service was even better. We will definitely return.
Had a coupon so why not?
My boyfriend got a coupon from AAA for this restaurant so we decided to try it out. They have a great wine list and had one of our favorite Merlots. We started out with the homemade meatballs for starters. Unfortunately, they were bland. Our servers recommended the homemade gnocchi with scallops and proscuitto wrapped filet for entrees. The homemade pasta was amazing! The filet was good but I would order one of the pasta dishes next time. We finished with the homemade tiramisu. It was large serving and more then enough for 2.
Best Italian downtown!
Love this place. Sole Mio has such wonderful dishes and nothing tastes like it's done the quick and easy way. I had the Gnocchi Pesto and it was superb. My husband had the Meatballs and spaghetti. We usually dine here before we go to a concert at the Symphony.

I had the Salmon special over pasta. The sauce was average at best. The restaurant had limited parking and was forced to pay $20 across the street.
Excellent service, best meal I've had in years
Our server, Sara, was awesome and helped me decide what to order for dinner. She told me to order what she likes to order herself: the gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle sauce and add scallops. Seriously the best food I've eaten in a VERY long time. Perfect portion.
Business trip dinner
Very accommodating for large groups. We were 13 one night and only 6 the second time we went. Waiter was on top of everything including food allergies and separate checks. The food is good...the sauce is a little too sweet for some of us northerners but the portions are generous and the salads are very nice and not over dressed. We were staying next door at the Hyatt so the location was perfect.
You MUST ask for ROBERT ! BEST SERVICE EVER !!! *
You MUST ask for ROBERT ! He is the best waiter/server EVER!!!! We eat out a lot and have never had such exceptional service by anyone...... His service and personality can't be beat! Makes dining here unbeatable !!! 😬. The sweet little manager Claire with short brown hair is also exceptional! A+++++
This was our first visit to this place. Was celebrating my friend's birthday. Server Robert was very nice and helpful. Food was good but the amount vs.price is little higher than this type of other fine restaurants in Nashville area.
Our waitor was unbelievable. Food was average
I wasn't impressed with the food but our waiter was great. He was super friendly and ver attentive to our needs

Very pricey!! My friend and I split a meal and got a salad and drink each. The bill was $45.00 plus tip per person!! Outrageous! Food was delicious and service was very nice. Would not return due to pricing.
Generally overpriced. Portions were small. $27 chicken was dry and overcooked. Only 5 small scallops in the $29 dish and we had to pay extra for some tough linguini. We were there for lunch previously and the pasta entrees were expensive but edible. The chefs salad was mainly a piece of romaine with very little topping. We won't be back.
Unexpected and great
Booked a dinner here. Was great find. Food was fantastic. Service very, good. Nice break from the craziness of Broadway.
Not what i was expecting
The food was not as good as people put on. Very overpriced. Wen right after work and a that was in there eating was loud and obnoxious. So not worth my time or money.
Tasted good but overpriced and noisy.
I had spinach manicotti. It tasted good but was way overpriced. $20 for 2 manicotti baked in sauce. Waiter talked like it was special service to bring very small loaf of bread (for 4 people) before meal. Restaurant was extremely noisy even is the side room we were sitting at.

Food is very good, service is very, very slow. We arrived almost 2 hours prior to the time we had to leave for an evening show. Service was so slow that we had to rush out entrees and skip dessert in order to get to our show on time.
Exceptional service experience
I had made an early reservation in order to finish dinner soon enough to attend a concert later that evening. Due to unexpected traffic problems, two of us were about 20 minutes late and the other two were over 30 minutes late. Regardless, the server took care to make sure that we were able to finish dinner in sufficient time to get to the concert without being too rushed. Food was excellent and notwithstanding the shortened time, we enjoyed the dinner very much.
Not very good
Was anticipating a packed cozy Italian restaurant especially for a Friday night with the SEC tournament. Was sparsely filled and the food was average at best,

Service is the best in Nashville!
Tucked away but a gem. We love this place. Just started going this year and have found it to be a superior restaurant
Pretty constantly good all the time!
My husband and I both got the fish special last time there... It was over Spaghetti. He absolutely loved it... I found the sauce a bit too spicy hot which is unusual for me and although the snapper was good, my fish was a bit overdone. But it was enjoyable and we will certainly go back!

The food is pretty good, prices are fair. The location of this restaurant is awesome. It's very convenient to have dinner & walk to Broadway or Bridgestone Arena. Unfortunately, they don't offer valet any longer. In my opinion, this restaurant lacks atmosphere. For the price per plate, one would expect a higher end setting.
Quaint Neighborhood Spot
Service was excellent. Food delicious. Spaghetti and meatballs very tasty. Easy to get to from our hotel.
i hate eating alone but ...
the food was outstanding. the server was patient and i was seated quickly. to get to the point the marsala was the best i had anywhere in the world and the wine was great too. I just wish i wasn't deaf.

Great food. Loved the Bruschetta Flatbread. Apps took awhile to come out but, it was worth the wait
Husbands Entree tasted like canned Chef Boy R De.
Very disappointed. This was an expensive place to eat. My husband said his entree which he had the Grouper as it was the catch of the day He said it tasted like it was out of a can of Chef Boy R De. At $28.00 that is not acceptable. The appetizer was Calamari, it only had the flavor of the excessive breading and the marinara sauce that you could dip it in. Server never came and filled up my beverage. My entree was the Chicken Marsala. It was to my satisfaction. I did send the Restautant an email in regards to our experience on Sunday and I have not heard anything from them.
My wife & I went to Sole Mio recently and both were disappointed in our meals. It might very well be that they serve "authentic" Italian food and our taste for it was not palatable but still it wasn't very tasty. We had to ask for some bread since none was brought (I thought all Italian was served with bread). Needless to say we have crossed them off our dining list.
Average - mediocre food !
