SoDo Ratings and Reviews
Good but not great, fun evening!
Our swordfish was miserably over-cooked, but Pork Tenderloin was superb. The Tuna tartare was AMAZING. The acoustics/noise level was off the charts. It was sooooooo loud. $10 for a glass of King Estate Pinot Gris? A whole bottle is $15.99. I'd suggest. $8.00/glass To appeal to true Foodies, there may need to be a few improvements in overall food prep/offerings. Overall though we had a fun evening and our dinner was tasty. I would recommend but would advise friends to ask for their fish to be less done?
Had tasting menu. Very good.

SoDo never disappoints!
We love coming to SoDo for any occasion. Big thanks to Joel and the team for all the care they take with every part of the experience. Always excellent!
Good but nothing to Rave about
The food was good but for the price I wanted it to be excellent. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and the side dish, the risotto with Langostino was a little gummy and the langostino was over cooked. My husband got a Cheese burger and it was okay. Should be awesome for $18.00. The waiter awas excellent. There are better restaurants in the area for the price though.
We were seated in the back area. It was loud, no ambiance, and hot (on a cool rainy evening). We were there for my husband's birthday but the food was not that good. And it took a long time to arrive. He got the grilled tuna and thought it was way overcooked. My burger was nothing special. I was bummed because it seemed like it would have been a better destination than it turned out to be. I feel badly writing this, because I am sure they were trying. It just didn't all come together for us.

Great costumer service and the Parmesan calamari is so good.
Test Kitchen Tuesdays a hit
This is our third Test Kitchen Tuesday at SoDo, and all have been just wonderful. The prix Fixe menus have all been excellent - three courses: appetizer/salad or soup, entrée choice, and dessert choice. We started with a shrimp appetizer and a vegetable-sausage soup, and for entrees had pork tenderloin, and a ribeye steak. Dessert was a very tasty cheesecake or banana crème crepes, both excellent. The quality is everything we've come to expect from SoDo. Now all they have to do is start incorporating some of the more popular special items into their regular menu!
We are big fans of SoDo and go as often as we can. We especially enjoy the last Tuesday Test Kitchen, great value and fabulous menu.

Valentine's Day dinner, was our first visit there. Service was great, food fabulous! Tables for two were very close together, didn't like that, felt like I was in my neighbors lap, made the experience less intimate for Valentines Day! Will go again and probably enjoy the outside dining area more . Overall a good find, and we have been to most restaurants in Teno!

Great food and staff
wonderful time again food was great the staff even better (Steve and Kat), and even though it was crazy busy you would have never know it by the quality of the staff and food
Service was exemplary, food was classic
Return visit found an even more delightful ambience, food selection and service level.
Richard of Incline
Excellent food and service. Quality experience and presentation.. worth every penny. Thought I was in the city. Clearly one of Reno's best!
Will definitely be back. Service was great and the food was even better.
Great experience, once again!
One of our favorite restaurants in Reno. Wilson our server was above and beyond with everything. Great food and the cocktails by Katt are the best. Can't wait to come back. The short ribs were the best.
Great Food, Terrific Service
If you're looking for a chic or romantic place to hang or dine, or like memorable décor or theme-style establishments, SoDo is not your place. Really appreciate good food and service? SoDo is for you. We dine at SoDo fairly regularly, both as casual walk-ins, and lately for their Test Kitchen Tuesdays. Their regular menu, though not extensive, is quite varied, appealing to a wide range of tastes. The food has never disappointed: always well prepared, cooked as you request, innovatively presented, and a good value for the money. Entrees always include the main star, plus sides (or unders) of veggies, or potatoes, rice, etc., all cooked to perfection. Soups and salads are tasty, and like the entrees, a cut away from the ordinary. Portions while ample are not enormous, but I've never left hungry, and their prices are well in line for quality dining in the Reno area. The wait staff has always been friendly, down to earth, attentive, and very knowledgeable. They remember who you are, welcoming you back like old friends. Other restaurants might do well to emulate the waiters and waitresses here. The combination of very good food and the great wait staff makes SoDo a place to put on your list. Don't miss it.
Food is very good. Service was pretty good. Unfortunately, the noise level gets really loud as the restaurant fills up. Really nice Mid Town location. Go early for a quieter meal.
SODO - Getting Better...
I have been here a few times in the past and it wasn't perfect. I didn't have high expectations and only went because it had been a while. PROS: The food was very good. Everything from the jalapeno popper appetizer to the pumpkin/jalapeno soup was spot on. My ribeye was actually better than most local steakhouses. CONS: The bar is too small and there really isn't an area to gather with friends in the bar where you're not standing on top of the hostess. The restaurant is very narrow and laid out kinda funky. Overall, I will be back. Hoping it remains consistent.

Love SoDo been there many times. Service is always impeccable and great ambiance. I've never been disappointed except this evening. Our appetizer, the skewers, were delicious. I got the chicken Marsala and my husband the scallops. My Marsala was so salty. Like drink a gallon of water and still not satisfied salty. The scallops were good but small portions. I should have said something to the manager then. Didn't. So my fault. We'll try SoDo again.
WE went for hubby's birthday and were not disappointed. Steve was a great waiter. The hanger steak and sea bass were perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were perfect. We will be back again.
We love SoDo! The service is always spot-on, and the food was delicious. We brought friends who hadn't dined there before, and we were all impressed. Great food and wine, and fun atmosphere, made all the better with Kat's help. We'll be back soon!
Wonderful Start to the New Year!
We live in Carson City and had been to SoDo once before with my nephew and his wife. We decided two days before to go out for dinner on New Year's Eve with friends, and were very fortunate to get a 9:00 reservation. We had a short wait for our table to be turned over as the restaurant was fully booked and it was a very lively atmosphere. We ended up being seated at the same table we had with my nephew. Our server, Steve, was very personable and knowledgeable. Two of our party of four ordered the special menu that evening which included for the first, soup (lobster bisque) or salad and for the entrée, rack of lamb, Chilean sea bass or chicken. The lobster bisque was wonderfully creamy and the rack of lamb very tender. One of my favorite desserts is crème brulee so I had to taste the chocolate crème brulee and the others had the flan. Two of us had a glass of Trefethen merlot and I especially liked the glass of Mosaique (which I had for a second glass) as I love red blends. We hadn't gone out for New Year's Eve in many years and it was the perfect end for 2016 and the start of 2017.
Pleasant Christmas Eve dinner
Overall the food was good and creatively prepared. Short ribs were excellent, husband didn't care for the cioppino as the protein was in very small pieces. Kale salad is nice and large enough to share. The duck special (entree) was quite small. Desserts a bit disappointing. Decent wine menu. Waitress was great. Will try again.

dining experience wonderful
Stephen our waiter was the best and made our dining experience more enjoyable
Have been several times and the food has been very good. The wait staff is knowledgeable and efficient. There are many places to eat in Mid town and this us one of the best.
first course good but overpowered with lettuce. Main course ...wild boar very good. Desert...bread pudding dry and not good at all. Service excellent.
My Partner was so happy she could get a rack of Wild Boar! She ordered it rare and it was perfect for her. All the food was great!
SoDo-Go :-) Fantastic Food
The only problem is there is limited seating and even with my reservation we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated.
Excellent food and service!
First time eating at SoDo and I was very impressed. The appetizer, dinner, and desert were all fantastic. One of the best meals I have had in some time!
Always spot on
Great food and always consistent. I have yet to have had dinner here and not been pleased. Always a safe bet.

While Sodo's is usually one of our favorite restaurants, this night the food was a little below par. I ordered the chicken marsala. No mention was made that the chicken had bones as well as skin. This made it particularly difficult to eat with a knife and fork. Had the menu description said there were bones, I would not have ordered. Flavor was good but it was difficult to eat. My husband's fish was delicious as well as the service being outstanding. We will return on another night.
Food was good, service was too.

Great food, friendly staff.
On a search for good food in Reno, we were surprised at the quality! Soup and entrees were delicious. Dessert was average. Service was top notch!
Nice for lunch
We had a very nice lunch. Both of us had the fish and chips which were excellent. The wine list had a good selection by the glass. Service was also excellent.

Had a lovely evening with good food and a great waitperson. Party of 8 and everyone was very happy with their meal and the service. We would all come back to SoDo!
The four average size scallops and handful of spinach I got was not worth $28. This was all I got; no soup or salad was included.
