Once again Smithville provides a wonderful evening. Food and service were great.

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING TO SMiTHVILLE FOR YEARS. ALTHOUGH MANAGEMENT AND FOCUS HAVE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS GOING THERE FOR LUNCH OR DINNER IS STILL SPECIAL. SERVER WAS ATTENTIVE AND PATIENT IN LISTENING ABOUT THE FIRST TIME WE VISITED SMITHVILLE AS A CUSTOMER 43 YEARS AGO.
We were more than pleased and will be going back
Pleasant setting, diligent staff and food prep, presentation and quality was wonderful!
We were there for a Saturday night dinner; had a great table at the window; the food was excellent; service (waiter Mike) was outstanding; ambiance was enhanced by live piano music - a rare find in restaurants these days. Looking forward to returning for another dinner next month.
Always a good dinner. The food is great and the location is good if you have a show to see in AC. Lunches are nice also. The staff is professional and very attentive.
You Can Go Home Again
The Smithville Inn was a family favorite going back to my parents in the 1960's. Every birthday, anniversary or family get together, was held here. This year I lost my sister to lung cancer. My birthday and hers were in the same week in April. I needed to face those days in familiar surroundings. So back to the Smithville Inn where the best memories were. Our waiter, Mike, was simply the best. Not only did he know the menu and how to engage us, he was uplifting and compassionate when I told him why I was there. During dessert he had a small candle on my plate. He teased me a couple times making wishes. Then he lit the candle one more time and asked me to leave it lit for those not with me. I did and let it burn to the end. As thought my sister and the rest of my family were there. I shed many tears that night but they were happy ones. They were shed in a warm and familiar place that felt like home.
The Smithville Inn is one of my all time favorites. The food and service are always great. This time I was dining with a friend who is an extremely picky eater. She had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection and she was very, very pleased. I had the special - Osso Bucco which was one of the best I've ever had. We had the chocolate peanut butter bomb for dessert with coffee that was phenomenal --- perfect ending to a perfect meal. Highly, highly recommend!
Snooty and overpriced
I booked to have a nice birthday meal with my wife... The inn is not kept well... Staff is "snooty" the meal was over cooked and dry... Also my wife ordered the special when it came out it was not correct because they did not have it in the system correctly but still charged full price..WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN....
Easy to make reservation.

You have to try the chicken salad at Brunch
The food is good and plentiful. Great options for all. Would love pancakes but that may be a bit of a pain for the restaurant. I go her every year. The brunch drinks are reasonable ($2 mimosa) but I think they used to be included but I can't remember. Generally I'm not a fan of the dessert @ buffets but the dessert was very good. Love the chocolate pudding and hope they bring back the mousse.
BEST BRUNCH EVER!!
This is the best Sunday brunch that I've eaten at in years! There were so many different selections to choose from - from breakfast to lunch offerings; everything that I selected was tasty & attractively displayed. The food tables were set up to support a constant flow of people avoiding crowded areas. The view of the grounds was lovely. The staff at the display tables & wait tables were helpful & accessible. They make you feel very comfortable & welcome. Whenever I am in South Jersey for the weekend, I will be eating at the Smithville Inn for Sunday Brunch!!!
Excellent meal. Friday night Prime Rib for $20 you just can't beat that. Also great service.
Nice meal and atmosphere
We had a very enjoyable meal, both the food and service was very good. The piano player is a very nice touch and we found his selection of music enjoyable. The meal has a nice selection and is reasonable price. We have visited the Smithville Inn a few times in the past year and have not been disappointed. Consistent in quality of food and service.
Food was delicious as always.
Food was delicious as always.
Enjoyed it very much.
I had the filet, it was perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband had the crab imperial stuffed salmon and he loved it. Both were still good the next day too! We have a favorite app. , the fried green tomatoes were wonderful as always.
Very enjoyable, quiet lunch.
We visited the Smithville Inn on St. Patrick's Day, mid-week off-season. Very quiet, only 5 tables full in the dining room at noon. Sat with nice view of the lawn area. Waitress was prompt and explained the special which included St. Patrick's day corned beef and cabbage which was excellent! The kitchen was very slow and we had to wait quite a while for our food considering they were not busy.

Great food at Smithville inn
Terrific, outstanding, a wonderful meal and thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant
Great dinner setting
Second time here for dinner, atmosphere and food are great, got here a little early, so we had a scenic window view of the water outside. I would strongly recommend it!

We always enjoy lunch at Smithville Inn, it is a charming restaurant with a lovely dining area that overlooks a garden. This time we were there to try a Restaurant Week lunch. They offered a varied selection of entrees. We tried the Prime Rib Sandwich which was different and delicious, I had soup, husband had salad which were very good only surpassed by the delicious lemon pound cake for desert. We can't wait to go again.
Restaurant Week Lunch at the Smithville Inn
Wasn't sure what to expect as far as choices on the lunch menu or portion sizes. My husband and I thought reduced prices might mean small plates and unimaginative cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised. Our salads - I had the harvest greens, he had the baby Caesar - were more than adequate in size and very satisfying. We both ordered the grilled shrimp with vegetable couscous. ..a new dish for us , so delicious and filling. We were too full for dessert so we carried our lemon pound cake out for later. Our server, Terri, was personable and attentive without smothering us. Between the Inn's decor, pleasant atmosphere, the view of the nearby pond complete with a few lovely Canadian geese and a great meal, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Our dining experience was lovely. The presentation of food was probably the best I have ever experienced. The steak was cooked perfectly as was the pork. The service was outstanding..attentive but not overbearing. The dessert selections seemed fairly ordinary, but the meal was so delicious that we could have happily skipped the desserts.
Had lunch at Smithville Inn during AC Restaurant Week. The food and the service was excellent.
We visited the Smithville Inn as a part of Atlantic City Restaurant Week. It had been years since we were there. It was not very crowded for an early Sunday Evening. We had the Lobster Flatbread and Short Rib Quesadilla for the appetizer course. They both sat under the warmer for a long time. The flatbread was soggy. The Quesadilla did not contain much Short Rib. For the entree, we had the Steak Sinatra and the Chicken Florentine. They both sat under the warmer for a long time also. The waitress had difficulty carrying them because the plates were so hot. The steak was well done on the outside and rare in the middle (I asked for medium well). The Chicken ended up being two chicken legs and thighs stuffed with a little spinach in the middle of them. We both had Creme Brûlée for dessert. They were obviously prepared earlier in the day - sugar and all. One of them had a large piece of plastic in it. Our memories of this place did not live up to the meal that we received.

Sunday brunch was great! Very good variety of choices. Loved the mashed potato bar, omelette station & carving station, plus much more
Great brunch - special occasion - excellent service. Great selection and quality. Highly recommended
My fiance and I were curious to try this place because we booked our rehearsal dinner here for next month. We'd never been but heard it was a good restaurant. It was fantastic! I really enjoyed the soft live piano music, and the ambiance felt elegant, historic and a little romantic due to the soft lightning. I had the salmon and crabmeat special (the best salmon I've ever had), and my fiance had the prime rib (he loved every bite). Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and made us laugh a few times. We are very excited to come back for our rehearsal dinner and even think we'll spend our future first anniversary here!
Want to escape for lunch to a spot that is historic, charming and comfortable? This is the spot. Not to mention resonably priced. The turkey entree was terrific!

It took an hour and 20 minutes from the time we sat down until the time we were served. The manager was attentive and apologetic but other people were served before us tha were seatwd after us.

We had Sunday Brunch and the food was great, the atmosphere was gorgeous. Neither my daughter or girlfriend weigh 100 Lbs, so an all you can eat Brunch at $28.00 PP wasn't a very good value. I can say that I got my $28.00 worth and enjoyed every bit of it. I would absolutely go back as well as refer to family and friends.
Awesome Brunch! The food, service, setting, etc. cant be beat. This is my birthday request each year! My favorite place for brunch.
Great couples spot!
We had a nice dinner for two by the window overlooking the lawn and lake! Prime rib was on the money and my wife loved her seafood risotto

Exceptional service starting with valet, then hostess, coat check, wait staff. Never saw a bus guy work so hard and fast in my life, kudos. Minimal wait time for table (with reservation) on a very busy night. Food very good (house salad pretty weak I must say), wait time after ordering acceptable. All around good experience.
This was our first time at the Smithville Inn. We will definitely go back. It's been a long time since I had an evening at a restaurant where everything was perfect. Food, Service, Drinks, Atmosphere. It was a great place for Valentine's Dinner.
Great for first and many more dates. Good food service, little pricey
A Wonderful Setting
My wife and I drive from Monmouth County (1 1/2 hours) to the Smithville Inn every three or four months to enjoy lunch or brunch along with a walk through the village. We've now introduced several friends to the ambiance and great food served at virtually every meal. We always look forward to our next visit and meal.
This was the best brunch I ever had.
There was so much food to choose from and everything was fantastic. Service was right on point, we did not want for anything. We got a table right at the window so we could look at the water which was fantastic. Have not been to Smithville for a long while but will make it a part of our dining out experience in the future for sure. We are going to make reservations to come back for Mother's Day, looking forward to that.
Our recent Saturday night visit for a Valentine dinner was exceptional. We waited just enough to warm up in front of the fireplace before being seated, to what may be the best table, near the piano. Our attendant was pleasant and experienced. Hubby and I both ordered fish specials from the Vday menu as well as salads and an appetizer. We sipped wine and enjoyed the music until our meal was served. The manager checked with us once to ensure everything was satisfactory. While we would not use the term vibrant bar scene, we love the atmosphere at the bar. It is elegant but comfortable. The drinks are made well and not terribly expensive. The bartenders, Hank and Nuch, are knowledgeable and very friendly. While waiting for the valet to bring our car around, the manager once again approached us to ask about our experience. It was a most delightful evening.
