Wouldn't be my first choice
It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but the place was totally understaffed and we couldn't get refills and it took too long for our burgers to arrive...like 50 minutes for a burger. The waiter was sprinting through the restaurant, so he was trying but was set up for failure.
Husband & I were passing through Paducah, KY. Went on YELP which recommended this restaurant. This was 'Bar' food not dinner quality in the slightest. Certainly would not recommend for anyone who is used to dining in 5 star restaurants.
Was very impressed with the food and that there was gluten free choice of bun
Was very pleased with overall experience. Our server and the food was very good.
Valentine's Date night
My husband and I went for our Valentine's dinner and loved it, the food was excellent, we loved every minute.
Great food, service not so much
The food was wonderful and very nicely presented. Our server was not attentive, and the restaurant was not busy so there was no reason for her not to have taken better care of our table. Love the ambiance and it wads lovely watching out the window.

Great menu. Gouda meatloaf with bacon was unique and outstanding as was spiced bacon and Gouda with fried green tomato. Located in cool "artsy" downtown area. Excellent service to top it off.
This was my first experience with Shandie's Sunday brunch. $18.99 per person, so go hungry! You will not be disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered off the menu, and had the apple bourbon pork chop. Oh my goodness! What an excellent meal! The quality was worth the price.
Delicious food and great atmosphere!

Reunion of friends
Reunited with friends after 20 years at Shandi's. I had reservations and was seated promptly. I was alone awaiting friends arrival. Took about 15 to get a drink. After friends were seated, it took another 15 to get their drinks. Waitress took our food order and we asked for another drink. I recieved mine but the others had to wait about another 15 mins. Service is much to be desired. After dinner we went upstairs to listen to live music, which we were charged $5.00 a piece. After 30 minutes they quit charging....really!! Two bartenders at the bar and it was almost impossible to get a drink. The ambiance was ZERO! GOOD MUSIC but all the lights were left on. I used to be a regular at this restaurant years ago.( CC Cohen). Actually worked there in my younger years and it was great!! It could be a wonderful place again, but the wait staff needs to be properly trained.
My husband and I were in Paducah for a bass tournament and I was looking for a great place to eat with some 'history' and what a gem we found! Shandies was great and it is in a great spot and the food was awesome! My husband said his burger was the best burger he has Ever had! That's impressive! He's hard to please!!! We would go back again and again!
1st Time but not the Last
Very good dinner and service. Nacho Mama's Fried Won Ton is a great appetizer for a group. Two of us shared the appetizer and the meatloaf dinner, and we were stuffed. Both dishes were excellent. Only downside, no chilled glasses were available for the beer. Will definitely be back.

Everyone's food was great, relaxing atmosphere! The service was a little slow but overall we had a great time.
Poor service but excellent food
We weren't sure about this place since we had to wait almost 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by a hostess but the food made up for it! I think they were understaffed due to being Sunday evening on Labor Day weekend & the staff that was there were worn out from being so busy. We would still recommend this restaurant for their delicious food!!!
A whim that paid off
Stopped in on whim while visiting from out of town. It was one of the restaurants recommended by the hotel clerk and it did not disappoint. Food was good, although the tuna was a little over cooked which dried it out a bit...ask the chef for rare and you may be happier. The steak was good. Wine list wasn't huge, but we found good quality. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the horse and carriage tours go by. It's a short walk to the river too so you can "walk off dessert"....always a plus. We would visit again.
My wife and I enjoyed our experience and will diffidently be returning. Staff was friendly and food was prepared quickly. We enjoyed fried green tomatoe crips as an appetizer, a different take but very good. We both had burgers, I had their mac and cheese. The burgers were cooked exactly the way we wanted and were delicious. The mac and cheese was awesome. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit Shandies.
WE FOUND SHANDIE'S ACCIDENTALLY. CHECKED MENU ON-LINE. HEARD FOLKS WALKING BY SAYING HOW MUCH THEY LIKED IT. WE ENJOYED A MID-AFTERNOON, RAINY SATURDAY LUNCH. SERVICE WAS GOOD; FOOD TASTY AND GOOD SIZE PORTIONS, A NICE FIND THAT WE'LL RETURN TO ON FUTURE VISITS TO PADUCAH.
BEST OVERALL RESTAURANT IN PADUCAH.
A welcome and interesting menu in a town where the restaurant choices are limited and boring.

The Sunday Brunch Buffet was very disappointing. Service was adequate, hard to say since waiter just had to bring us drinks. The buffet itself was ONE 8-foot table of food and a smaller table of desserts. There was not a good selection of dishes. Food was cold and desserts were not replenished after several guest had gone through. A half-eaten smashed cake is not appetizing. Maybe the food on the regular menu is better. Even though we were not impressed with the quality of the buffet, we had considered coming back to try their regular menu until we received an $80 bill. There is no way that buffet was worth $24.99 a person, won't be coming back.

First time visit. Loved the window view. Steak dinner was excellent. Will definitely be back. Very good service. Worth the money.
not good this time!
This was only my 3rd visit to Shandee's. It was terrible! I am not sure what was going on. Food was cold. Ribeye steak was like it had been bruised and clotted.. don't know how else to describe it. Servers confused! Aweful!
Service and food where excellent.
Loved the crab ragoon dip with wantons. Food and service where great. Wait staff where very kind. I do miss the blackened catfish sandwiches they used to have.
Turn up the heat. Food was average ,served on cold plates.Service adequate.
Over all was an okay visit. The only problem we had was our ribeyes where ordered med-well and when they arrived at table they where cold to the touch (like they had been sitting in back and not cooked to order) and we are not people that complain so we ate a little of them and took the rest home to heat up and enjoy then. the sides on the other hand where amazing. the mac and cheese was by far my favorite. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed it, as always.
No matter what I get, I always wish I'd gotten the hamburger. Excellent service!

Worst food I have ever had. Pecan encrusted chicken with a maple leek glaze was a precooked grilled chicken breast with a thicken maple syrup with pecans thrown in. Hostess was rude!
The food had alot to be desired. Steaks weren't cooked as asked. When they were recooked, the manager said she would take some off the tab for the wait. When you are eating after the rest of your party has eaten and they are sitting waiting on you, 2.50 is not much to take off of a 25 dollar meal. It was very loud in there for 7pm on a Friday and the wait staff was a joke. Running out of water numerous times. Will not ever go back or reccommend.
When we arrived, we told the host we made a reservation online and he couldn't find us on the list. He made a big deal of it, even though there were only five tables being used. He looked and acted as if he had just done some type of illegal pick-me-up, my wife described him as wirey. He sat us next to the only window that wasn't clear, it was an older window that, from time, had turned foggy. Our server got 3 of our 4 drinks wrong, we all ordered sweet tea except for me, which was unsweet. My wife and friends ordered burgers, which they said was good, but my vegetable plate was juicy. Everyone working acted as if they were super busy, but again, there were only about 6 tables full. It was not enjoyable, we will not be going back.
just a suggestion
I had a great experience but I feel more appetizers should be added to the menu and maybe do a pairing with a certain drink.
Not worth your time
Things started out ok but went down quickly. Ordered soup which came after meal. Told waitress when meal came to cancel the soup but it came any way. The beef on the French dip was tough and over cooked. The burger was just ok. Fries are frozen and not house made. The French onion soup came out of a packet and was soooo salty. In fact, the au jus for the French dip tasted just like the soup. Just not a good experience. The waitstaff seemed to turn on us when we pointed out the soup came late. Their attitude was poor. Eat elsewhere....
Dining Experience @ Shandies
Visit was very pleasant with excellent and professional service and great food!! Waiter was accommodating in every way and the singer was awesome. The meal was served timely. Look forward to returning since our party was crunched for time.

They were understaffed for the traffic in the restaurant. There was a sold out concert a block away. The hostess was rude. Our waitress did the best she could. We received our drinks in styrofoam cups. My chicken Caesar salad looked wilted and brown. I was told it was from the dressing. It looked awful. This was my second and last visit there. Paducah offers too many other options. Disappointing experience.
Good Food VERY Poor Service
Good thing we made reservations, we were standing in line and the seemingly frustrated hostess "I'm only helping people with reservations" she marched us to a very dark cove with 4 tables across from the restrooms..I let that go since she was in a poor mood and we wanted to be on time for our concert. It was over 20 minutes before our waitress (Holly) took our order, so we decided to save time and ordered drinks, appetizers and the meal when she did show up. After another 20 minutes all she brought was my iced tea and told us the other drinks weren't ready yet. She forgot 1 of our meals and 1 appetizer but served the egg rolls to my brother in law as his meal, she brought his meal just about the time we were finished with ours.. very poor
We had reservations for 6 made on Open Table. We were told we had no reservation, and were told they had no table. I showed them my reservation confirmation which made no impact on the sour hostess. We went down the road. Stay away!!
Had dinner, was just ok as far as the food goes, the waitresses and waiters were delightful and had a small group singing which was very nice and not too loud for the small area of dining in the restaurant. Sat out side on the walkway for our cocktails and was waited on immediately. They even brought out a doggie bone and water for our pet.
Had the Mother's Day, brunch. Not used to eating that much at lunch, but it was good and was full the rest of the day!
Won't go back...
My family and I went to Shandies for an Easter brunch...buffet had plenty to choose from, but nothing was that great...herb roasted chicken was dry, hot brown had burned places in it. Service was absolutely horrible...our waitress was working our table and a table all the way across the restaurant...WHEN we could catch her, we had to ASK for drinks...asked for sweetener and salt (neither was on the table)...finally had to get up and go ask another table for theirs. One of my family members ordered a plain cheeseburger, it came out with everything on it...sent it back and it came back without cheese. On top of that, the buffet price was $22/plate, it MAY have been worth $8, and that's pushing it. Only good thing was the dessert table.
The food was amazing. The hostesses had my name spelled wrong so he couldnt find me listed. My server looked at me from the corner doing nothing for 15 min and the moscato she bought me was flat. I willnot let this ruin my return to Shandies its a great place overall.
Best food for miles around.
Interesting food. Not the boring food from most of the other places in Paducah.
