Sava's Restaurant, originally Sava's State Street Cafe, opened June of '07 at a small location across from our current space. We started small, every year adding, changing, and working with our customers to achieve an atmosphere and menu that we were proud of. The quaint cafe was merely a jumping off point for the elaborate expansion that later followed. In August of '09 we opened Sava's Restaurant in the beautiful location we're in today, making a name for ourselves based on great service, a young, welcoming atmosphere, & delicious dishes.
We cater to a wide range of clientele, including students, professors, townies, out-of-towners – we open our doors to everyone. From our eclectic menu our best dishes are homemade, with quality ingredients from local vendors. We like Michigan beef, produce, and beer! Join us and experience Sava's for yourself!

Sava's Ratings and Reviews
Inventive Food; Veggie Friendly; Fabulous Service
Fun place with great menu diversity and food. Nice design and flow of the physical site. food was well served. Enjoyed the Halloumi and beet and sweet potato fries as appetizers -- both were relish. Loved the mushroom Spaghettini! Also had a chickpeas and rice entree that was deliciously spicy! Dining companions all enjoyed their choices -- a hit with everyone!
I ordered coffee and orange juice but got only the latter. My companion got the omelette he orderd but not the contents if the order. My food - sweet potato pancakes with lox - was oddly flavored and dull. The waiter was disengaged. I have been to this restaurant several times over six years and am always disappointed.

Overall nice dining experience. Good food. Will go back again.
Our server was terrific.
When I wasn't that thrilled with my order...my fault as I'd misread the menu, she immediately suggested a new option and brought it out very quickly. It was delicious. She was attentive and knowledgeable as well.
Great night out with my adult children
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. A nice place to have a casual dinner with a small group of people with widely varying tastes and dinning requirements.

Great Easter Brunch
Our group of 4 went to Sava's on Easter Sunday with a 2:30 reservation. This is pretty late for us for brunch, so I didn't know what to expect. We all chose to order from the menu instead of the buffet (nothing wrong with the buffet…just wanted specific things), and each of our meals was exceptional. Service was attentive without hovering. It was a bit noisy, but it didn't detract from our enjoying our meal. They were serving a lot of people that day, but still were able to deliver a positive experience to each diner. Highly recommend!
Too loud. Waiter was inattentive. Also couldn't hear what he was saying.

Great food and wonderful french toast. The coffee though is not the best. This could definitely be improved upon to compliment their delicious food.
Consistently good food with a comfortable atmosphere and good service.
Big omelette, open space, pretty noisy
Sava's is probably the best place for breakfast or brunch in Ann Arbor, especially for the price. I had the Santa Cruz omelette, which was excellently prepared and very filling. Service was good. I would recommend a booth, as I was a with a large group at a table, and it was a bit hard to hear the conversation at the other end of the table. If you want a nice cup of coffee, or an espresso drink of some sort, you will have to have it before or after coming to Sava's—they just serve plain old coffee. I found mine to be a bit on the acidic side. While this may seem like a mixed review, I only mean for it to be helpful. I like Sava's and suspect it will always be a stop on my trips to Ann Arbor.
Everything was fine at the restaurant, the service was very nice and the food and drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. The only negative was the "Butchers Ribeye" the steak did not appear to be a ribeye by it's shape and grain. It did have a good flavor but there was a large piece of gristle and I lost a large portion that my steak knife just couldn't get through. The other meals that were ordered came out very nice and tasted great. Overall a very nice place on State Street.
The buckwheat pancakes are gluten free which was such a nice surprise! They were delicious and the service was so friendly and helpful.
Have dined at Sava's several times - has always been a pleasant experience - unique menu, but food has been very good. Beer selections are also interesting!

After deciding to try Sava's (internet) many people that we subsequently spoke with had also recommended Sava's and gave it high ratings. We were not disappointed!! The staff is incredible; the hostess, our waiter and other staff were attentive, polite and personable; atmosphere is pleasant, menu is interestingly diverse; food presentation very professional; food is excellent (I made a bad personal taste choice, but my husband loved my choice and we both loved his entree). So glad we found you, and we will be back...soon!
Great food in a fun atmosphere!
Upon arrival, i couldn't decide what to order, so i started with a Williamette Valley Pinot Noir which was very good, it was foamy and the waitress explained they have it on draft - it was very fresh and good. My husband got the ribeye, son got the lobster /shrimp pasta and i got the fish tacos. I wanted to try the steak salad but became confused. Also, I had a mini Greek salad. The Greek Salad is AMAZING and i will go back to get a large, one of the best ever. I don't normally get excited about greek salads, but this dressing was a beautiful medium hot pink, a thicker, luscious consistency on small bits of perfection, no big hunks of blah iceberg lettuce here! Everything was surprisingly good, the fish tacos had a spicy firey aftertaste, the lobster pasta creamy with great flavor. Way better than i expected.
Our go to Ann Arbor restaurant
We consistently get great food and great service which is why we keep coming back. A perfect short walk for a pre or after theater meal.
really love their grilled cheese for grown ups
This is just a wonderful restaurant. Excellent margaritas, and their grilled cheese for grownups is to die for (honey is the secret). Great service, of course.
Great food and service
I absolutely loved Sava's! The service was incredible; all of the employees we encountered were helpful, cheerful, and kind. The food was absolutely amazing. We definitely plan on returning!
Savas is one of my favorite restaurants.
Savas provides an incredible eating experience from their sweet potato fries and special sauce to excellent cocktails. I never have any doubt that the incredible food concoctions will be delicious. Quality ingredients, friendly service, and great atmosphere. This is another uniquely Ann Arbor must visit.
Food + ambiance + drinks = AWESOME CAVA'S
Went here for a Valentine's Day date with my GF who loved it. The food and the drink specials made it an amazing lunch. The atmosphere and music were great too. For some reason, their menu is innovative and focuses on sweet potatoes a lot :D. Enjoy, since Cava's is truly a romantic and great restaurant. Who knew I would find such awesomeness in the middle of Ann Arbor.
We had great dinner following a show across the street, we had reservations and were immediately seated when we arrived. The table was right next to a window it was perfect and our service was great! We had an appetizer and dinner and both of our meals were awesome we were very happy with the whole experience and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Very pretty restaurant with a nice menu. Two of us had the Huevos Rancheros which was very good. My husband didn't care for the overly crispy tortillas versus the softer, traditional version. Another dish, my daughter liked was the Avocado toast. Very good service! Look forward to coming back!
A great place for hosting visitors to Ann Arbor
Our University team has held holiday luncheons and hosted group dinners for U of M guests at Sava's. Plenty of reasonably priced, nice food options available for vegetarian, vegan and meat-lovers as well. Sava's is a go-to restaurant for groups with a wide variety of tastes. The many windows afford guests a nice view of the downtown Ann Arbor community and business district - great for people watching. You will want to visit Sava's again!
Still something of a new, hip restaurant, so getting a table at prime times can be tricky, but it is very good and fairly priced. Service has always been good to great, and it's one of my favorite places in town.
Awesome Food, Fun Experience
We have been here a number of times and it is always fun and always great food. This time was no different: great food (lamb shank, pasta, salads and cocktails), fun server with great service. The one thing I notice is that even before it gets crowded, the very active acoustics make it sometimes difficult to hear my fellow diners and servers.
Even better than its reputation!
Amazing restaurant with truly unique menu, especially the egg dishes that combine great flavors and textures. Great for vegetarians, but also has meat and fish. A highlight of Ann Arbor The best breakfast-lunch restaurant I ever have eaten at.
Wonderful brunch experience
Great job, loved the gluten free buckwheat pancakes and fresh fruit. My family also enjoyed vegetarian and meat lovers, and all the food, beverage, and service were excellent.

The food here is amazing! Make sure to make reservations though, as it is hard to get a table on the weekends
Good choice on State Street.
This was our first time at Sava's. It has been handsomely remodeled, and the second floor seats look out over the bar and dining room. The menu has a nice choice of items, from inexpensive sandwiches to full meals. Vegetarians can find choices, too. Our service was excellent.
Great experience at Sava's! The atmosphere was awesome, as well as the food. I had a wonderful time dining. The menu had many good options. Would definitely recommend!

My son, daughter & I had lunch on Saturday and it was the first time any of us had eaten @ Sava's. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was excellent. We had a 1:00 reservation and had to wait a little while for a booth. It would have been nice to wait somewhere other than in the entry way by the front door. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely refer people to this restaurant.
Nice new design and trimmed down breakfast menu
Great new look and smaller menu with new items. Food and service was great.
WONDERFUL food in a great location!
LOVE this place. They vary the menu periodically, and have taken my very favorite item off the menu (Salmon burger). But the turkey burger is outstanding, sweet potato fries are the best around, and you can never go wrong with the tomato bisque soup. I've had their breakfast items before and they were prepared well. I highly recommend this for a lunch or brunch spot. I haven't been here in the evenings, but the dinner menu looks delicious as well.
